Hey Group, It’s been too long, but for good reasons. I’ve been on trail and rebuilding a High Adventure Horseback Trek Program out in these mountains. More details and videos on the BTSR Cavalcade Program will be posted in time. Huck and I are getting into shape and we have had some good adventures. All is well, hope y’all enjoy the video and... Until Next Time, Bob Hansler
We had the most beautiful, intelligent dog I've ever been blessed to share my life with in Abigail, she was half Aussie Cattle Dog and half border collie, my GOSH what an incredible being she was. So smart, social, naturally attuned to the woods as well as being a natural herder.... so very smart and social. Gosh I loved that beautiful, beautiful dog.
@@salaltschul3604 But I pray hopefully a good sign, as they are most remarkable beings. I'm so grateful to have met some of them, and I praise your culture and creatures with all my heart. Abigail was a song of Britain and Aus, an age again apart and made one of the most amazing, beautiful, and intelligent beings I've EVER known. As a selfish human perspective, I highly recommend this "breed," at least this crossover. God and all good things guide us I beg to husband our animal stewards in ways that benefit them far more than ourselves. Goodness bless these creatures, and ourselves as well I hope. Sal I hope it gives you warmth to know there are critters carrying the message all over the world now, hopefully of the dreamtime *smiles warmly* best wishes Sal,bless you
Good lord Bob it's nice to see u back on my RUclips feed !! Also dont think I've ever seen your eyes and I hope those peepers are doing much better!! So nice to see that you're back !! Really missed your videos about you and that great state of yours !!!
Bob, it's just so good to see you back at it and doing what you love. I couldn't help but get a little choked up watching you tie that hook on. I'm sure there was a time when the ability to do that again was deeply in question. Keep up the amazing work.
Glad y'all are back. I love your content. I just got finished taking my nephew for a fishing trip almost like this. We have 600 acres of family land in eastern Alabama full of small streams with bluegill. My nephew is 12 and I gave him the reigns on the stream, how many fish to keep, cleaning them & the fire. It was great to hear him tell me what "Bob Hansler" does in those situations. Thank you for all you do for this channel. You are reaching young minds as well as my old self. Keep up the good work!
Really really glad to see you in good health and spirits! You are one of the seemingly few decent humans left out there, its nice to see you catching a break and being able to enjoy doing what you love.
Hey bob I’ve been binge watching your videos with the wooded beardsman I really appreciate two men who enjoy and kind of preach about nature! Keep it up brother.
Man, have I ever missed you! I hope this means that your heath issues are eating your dust and we won't have to wait months for your next video. I bought both of the cards that you highlighted, as well as some other products at Grim Workshop. I don't know if you and the Scouts benefit from those other purchases, but I hope they do. I can only imagine how enriching a good Scouting program in a place like Texas would be. Sincerely glad you are back !!
Wow!!!!Great job we are so proud to be working with you. Your card design is wonderful and has been very well received. We are excited to see you use it again.
Thank you Bob, Shauna and Huck for all of your thoughtfulness and effort. My daughter, who just joined the girl scouts recently (we just got back from a meeting a few hours ago actually) loves to watch this channel with me. My son is still too young but will also join into BSA. You guys are true stewards of this beautiful country and I'm proud to be a supporter. Will be buying this wallet gear for sure... excellent design btw. THANKS AGAIN! GOD BLESS!
In the summer time you can suspend a can above the water with holes punched in it and put some meat in it which will attract flys maggots will fall into the water attracting fish waiting for the next one . alsoa back woodsman said if you are serious about cat fish . get a toe sack and put a bunch of meat scraps ,chicken, fish ,beef, what ever you have and hang it up in youre back card and leave it there untill youre neighbors call the police then take to youre fishing hole weight it down and throw it in next morning you can catch cats as fast as you can pull them in
I went to BTSR this summer and did the Calvacade program out there and Bob was our teacher! Had an amazing time 10/10 would recommend. Bob was a very good teacher and really helped my horse riding skills. Thanks Bob and that's the idea!
Used to fish and cook on the bank like this with my brother in the 80's with bamboo poles. We didn't see any point in cutting off the heads either, but we put ours on a spit instead of in the coals. We'd cook while we were catching.
I like the cards. A group of friends and I have been survivalist camping for a few years. We haven’t wondered to far in our state yet as we are building up experience. Little things like this can definitely make the difference in life or death situations. I’m ordering a few sets
Bob Hansler : Right on show reminded me of my father fishing 🎣 with only string and hook , for bass and perch on Lake Simcoe , Southern Ontario...!!! Will be purchasing a couple of cards in his memory !!! Thanks Scarboro 🇨🇦🍀😎🙏
GREAT video Bob and I for one really appreciate what You do. Ol Huck cracks me up 😂😂 I hope and Pray Your eye problems are getting better and I am Thankful for Shawn Woods recommending Your Channel. The survival cards are ingenious. Keep on keeping on my Friend 🤠
Great vid. I've found leaving the gills in gives it a funny, sometimes nasty taste, so I gut and pull the gills. Cooked like that, they get a nice smoky flavor as well :)
Bob, so cool to see you! Very happy to see you back. I like your survival card, lots of them out there but you're the first I've seen it used very handy!
You crack me up. It would be a blast trail riding and fishing with you. Those are really nice bluegill for that area. LOVE your good ol boy too. Thanks for the video! Good luck on all of your future adventures.
Very relaxing video and your survival cards look like great items for backup if one is caught off guard, as I'm sure most of us outdoor Pathfinders can attest to! It is also great to see the support and knowledge you are bringing to the B.S.A. I spent most of my younger years with that organization right up to some of my older Vietnam vet friends who really become mentors over the years. The tip I learned early, and still teach today to the few kids in my area is: sure it is really cool to watch and learn a technique...but to be able to use that technique in all weather conditions and multiple environments is the ticket! It might seem redundant to some, but in the end your confidence and ability will come naturally! Just saving that little bit of time by knowing what to do and doing it without thinking can save your energy levels, maybe keep you from hyperthermia, etc. keep on having fun out there!!! John
Great video and production. Beautiful area. Looked into the fishing card but it is out of stock right now, so I put it on my wish list. Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work!
Yo Bob I just wanted to say that you are my idol, my role model, and I thank you for showing us younger men about survival skills in Texas. I also live in Texas! But sadly I live in the city where most of these skills would be unnecessary, but one day I hope to buy land to be able to do all these activities. Thank you for uploading these videos, we truly do learn from them. I hope all is well, take care!
Cheers Bob thank you for uploading ..that reusable card is pretty awesome I was looking for a small fishing kit and a blade for a survival belt i made ..awesome to see youre doing well my friend ..
Dude you are a role model of mine, I live in Ohio right now but I want to live in Texas when I grow up. This is partly because of your videos I love seeing nature and what you can do with it out their. Keep it up man.
There is nothing better than fresh fish!! 😋 Looks like that knife sliced through the fish well enough. Perhaps one day you could try removing scales with it? I'm just wondering how easy (or tedious) that would be? Great video, great work you are doing out there! Stay safe and God bless!

The Australian Cattle Dog: a surprising favorite here in Texas, especially if you camp or live outdoors.
I think I want one
We call em Blue Heelers.

As an Aussie, it's strange seeing a red cattle dog all the way over in Texas...

Huck is so sweet. Looks like he would be great to cuddle up with during the night.
Watching you fish is the most calming thing ever. I have such rough night time anxiety, and watching this is perfectly relaxing!

That's how we fished as kids in the sixties, FYI the guts and eyes are good bait for larger fish. Have a good one.
Still do that to lol
