Hey Group, Thought it might be time to show another Rattlesnake Recipe as the Silver Turyle method was the first way I’d ever cooked one. Hopefully the flies don’t detract too much. Hope y’all enjoy this method as well as the area we chose to cook it up. Take care and as always... Until Next Time, Bob Hansler
I came across your content looking for a method to cook a large chicken snake I shot. I teach my boys to respect all life, so using every part we can of an animal we kill (even if it's a threat to ourselves or our animals) is cornerstone of that belief. Thanks for your down-to-earth and experiential way of teaching.
I would have to be pretty hungry to eat a rattlesnake, but then I don't kill them either. I give them a wide distance if I can avoid them. That being said, I've been struck at a few times, but thanks to quick reflexes have avoid being bitten. Thanks Bob, I enjoy your videos!
LOL.."Parkay, dont know what it is, its not butter but it lasts for ever" ! Adding some to my prepping stock. Great Videos Sir, HUAH, USAF Combat Veteran
I've heard of people eating rattlers but I've never actually seen anyone clean one, cook it and eat it. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe. Watch where you squat. LOL
As always, I love the video. I have seen you cook snake a couple different ways & I think this one may be the one to finally get my nephew to try. Although we won't actively hunt a Timber Rattlesnake, if we acquire one, this is the recipe we will try. I will let you know how it goes. I want him to know all his options for food if the need arises. Thank you for the educational & informative video. Thank you also to Shauna for your awesome camera work!
@@BobHansler You were my first ever youtuber. My nephew suggested you. So no matter what, I am loyal to you & your family first & foremost. Y'all keep making them & I will keep watching & learning!
I'm glad to see you back doing what God told you to do. It's still sad that you have haters. Don't worry. The Most High gave you a job to do. If people have a problem, they can take it to God. Just my opinion.
Hi Bob nice camp you got there Rattle snake on the menu can’t be bad, like the way you cleaned it and cooked it, nearest thing I’ve eaten to a snake is a river eel. Thanks for sharing nice video oh yes nice horses too. 👍👌🇬🇧
Bob Hansler yer they are very tasty Bob But now they have put a ban on river eels hefty fines if proven you taking them home, I won’t bore you mate but here in the UNITED KINGDOM is becoming a pantomime, love your videos keep sending once again thanks
I've never tried rattle snake. Want to though, I'm going a tiny bit more westward then I live this summer so I might get to try it. I only live an hour or two from where I need to be to find rattlers.
Honestly if I wasnt going to northern teir this summer I'd try and get back out to buffalo trail. I did their mountain man program a couple years ago and it was the best
The mountain man nickname I got was squiting squirrel. He said I squinted when I though i was being clever. Truth of it is is that i didn't have much glasses that trip so i was constantly squiting. I still occasionally use the nickname with the friends who want with me. Stout buffalo and I think sly fox. It was something fox
Love your videos, just a heads up that 2 gringos seasoning you're using has MSG in it. I have a friend that's allergic to the Monosodium Glutamate ( it's not uncommon) and it gives her terrible migraines.
@@BobHansler Yep! As long as we have our Fishing license..which I definitely do. We can take reptiles. Just not in the national parks. I don't think I'll be eating mojave greens though.. the habitats here need them
I used to be a boy scout. I really wanna get back into it and learn a lot of your skills. Maybe if your up for it. We can meet up and you can teach me more in depth about surviving in the wild.
I encourage you to be part of the program if you can live by the Scout Oath and Law. There are many others within the organization that can teach as I do, that’s how I learned.
My son killed a big timber rattler on our farm that I nearly stepped on. I'm currently following all your advice/recipes to utilize every part of the snake. Question - how much of the fat/mesentery should I remove from the skin before putting it in the glycerine/alcohol bath?

Aluminum foil is always so darn useful
Try Gee instead of that plastic butter
?
@@BobHansler clarified butter, lasts a long time. Butter goes rancid partially due to the proteins in it.

That chupacabra is some great stuff! You can put it on just about anything.

Those perforated tabs at the end of the aluminum foil box you push them in and they hold the roll inside the box as you pull the foil off the roll

My grandpa used to catch rattlesnakes and cook them up for his scout troop.

.......is the seasoning as good on rattlesnake as it is on chupacabra...?
I’ve found this to be true, though chupicabra seasoned chupicabra liver tops it.
