I love the way you get so excited when you try the food after cooking. It makes anyone watching feel the love you do. Your recipes are wholesome and hearty, and every time I've made one of your dishes, I get super giddy 😀 that I have replicated that menu. I've never been a good cook, but following your recipes to a tee, I now think I'm getting there. Thanks for the wonderful recipes and the great job you're doing inspiring people to cook authentic asian/Indian food.❤
Can I come live at your home for 4 days just to experience homemade Asian food again I used to have all this when my sisters dad was still alive bless him
Shamsa u come out with the best recipes and I love how u explain every little detail and write it down for us. Thank u soooo much really appreciate it looks amazing will try this week I have tried alot of ur dishes and they r absolutely amazing and sooo delicious.. lots of love ❤
Amazing... Since my mother passed away, I haven't had authentic desi food... But since discovering your channel, I've learned how to make it myself... Thank you so much for demystifying the processes (which to me may as well have been magic until they were explained!).
Hello again. Just to let you know this was divine !!!! Thanks so much for the detailed recipe and steps. Such a great dish and enough sauce not to dry out. Loved it - thanks again !
Aww that looks amazing Shamsa! Too scared to try something like this but you've inspired me! Out of interest how many people can this be a serving for? Thank you 😊
Looks fantastic Shamsa!!! Will definitely try this. I usually do my rice in a rice cooker. How long does it need to boil before it’s ready and snaps in two? Do you leave the lid on or off? New subscriber to your channel - just came from Al’s Kitchen
Hi Steve, thank you! So I'd say around 6/8mins that's after its come back up the boil again with the rice in. Also depends on the different brands of rice, as some take a little more/less time to cook and it was with the lid off! Welcome to my channel and enjoy the content. Feel free to scroll through some of my older videos as I've lots of great recipes. 😊👍
OMG, it looks amazing!! 😋 I love how you got all giddy layering it up 😂, like you knew you were in for a treat!! Would these spices work for lamb as I'm thinking of making lamb tomorrow? x❤️Have A Happy Valentines Day❤️x
Hey PJ, so sorry lovely for the late reply, it's been a busy one. I'm late and not sure if you managed to try the recipe with lamb. I don't see why it wouldn't work... infact I think it will be as Amazing as chicken.😊
Shamza you look absolutely beautiful and I love your recipes ! You’re such a fabulous cook and I like the way you measure your spices as it’s easy to follow . I’m going to try making it at home but halving the quantity as I’ll be the only one enjoying it . Yummmm😛😛😛😛❤️❤️❤️
Hi Shamza, I was just as excited as you during the taste test. ❤ Ive not long discovered your channel, I love the way you don’t over complicate your recipes like some other RUclips chefs do. Thank You 🙏
Just for you who didn’t catch what Deggi mirch is , it is a chilli powder like Kashmiri chilli powder it’s light on heat but adds a great deep red colour ,
Do you always use the masala and meat as the bottom layer and if so why? Won't it catch if you do dum on a direct heat rather than the oven? My family always uses rice as the base layer.
I think it’s optional. Everyone one does it differently. If you layer the rice first it’s better to drizzle oil first at the bottom of the pan so rice doesn’t burn.
Haider, either process works. I normally do the same as what your family does when I'm working with a degh full of rice, cooking for a large event but considering this was just two cups I opted for the base layer of meat. Regarding the curry catching at the bottom, it didn't do but you're right it can catch with both rice or meat at the bottom. The only way to prevent that is placing it in the oven for dum.
Hey Ammarah, thank you for your comment 😊 Bless you lovely... make sure to subscribe with the bell notification on so you don't miss any new videos. Tc 🤗💜
Having made an extensive study of biryani recipes on the Internet I have decided that, of the probably 2 billion people that cook biryani, most of them have their own, unique recipe! The only common factors are: rice, dark brown onions and the irresistible urge to dig to the bottom of the pot as soon as it is cooked!
I really do love your recipes and your step by step how to make and the ingredients, but would really like to ask you please don't always use the term " oh my God", would really appreciate it. I believe there are lots of folks following your program that feels the same, thx alot for your wonderful program.
Hi Shazza. Many thanks for sharing this recipe. I made this today, but not without incident. It would be appreciated if your ingredients list matched the stages of cooking. For example your Marinade ingredients doesn't include the yogurt or the ginger garlic paste. Same for the masala, no ginger/garlic or blitzed chillies on the list. Turned out ok but the chicken would have tasted better if it had the ginger/garlic in the marinade (especially since i left it over night to absorb all the spices). It's great you list all the ingredients but much better if you break them down in to each phase. Keep your husband out of the kitchen ! LOL I need the full visual.
Hi Clive, thank you for your comment 😊 Appreciate your thoughts. I have broken the recipe ingredients down to A) the main ingredients, b) marination and c) masala. I understand where you are coming from but that's where the video tutorial comes in. Because the yoghurt and the ginger garlic was used for both the marinating of the meat and masala I left them in the main ingredients. In the video I added them in when they were needed. I have updated the recipe ingredients and hope that they'll help.
@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes Many thanks, that's great! I usually transcribe the ingredients videos as I can't view in my kitchen space. I'm pretty good technically so having the ingredients by steps is really helpful. Having to run back and forth to the video was a wee bit stressful. Your kitchen is Little, mine is tiny 😄 I made it a second time and I was much better organized. Marinating and frying the onions the night before, meant an easy day of cooking and assembly. This time is shared with friends and they loved it!!! One took away the recipe and I forwarded them your link. Hope you get a new subscriber!! ❤️❤️❤️

Hi Shamsha - can’t wait to do this at the weekend. I’m guessing you use full fat yogurt? When I’ve tried low fat it can be a bit sharp and split.
Hi Graeme, I.used greek yoghurt. Mine did not split at all.. so you could possibly be right!

Any news on the curry sauce for the biryani?
Work in progress...
Im allergic to dairy so can i leave the yogurt out or replace it with coconut yogurt?
It definitely needs yoghurt so coconut should work just fine 🙂

I am cooking for two .What are the quantities I should use
Hi Brian, just halve the quantity of all the ingredients 😊👍
Where do u buy all the spices because in the super markets all you have is them tiny pots its expensive if you buy all these for every curry
Check the world food isles in the supermarkets, I buyy spices in large quantities from there or the local Asian shops also sell them.
Do you always use the masala and meat as the bottom layer and if so why? Won't it catch if you do dum on a direct heat rather than the oven? My family always uses rice as the base layer.
