Or forcing things to be analogues of racism, or sexism, any type of bigotry. MK has *always* respected everyone equally. With Kung Jin in MKX they just give a nudge that he's gay. It's not a giant plot point, nah dude's gay. And a *God* tells him that it's not bad. We see why there's unjust hatred, we see each side equally. And the game does an absolutely fantastic job at *obliterating* it. Baraka and Syzoth have become two of the most beloved characters of the series. Everyone liked Reptile, but he wasn't a *character.* Now? I feel that calling Syzoth anything but his name is akin to an actual slur. But he *never* actually says "Don't call me that."
