Sorry the audio and video quality isn’t up to the standard…this was spontaneous and I haven’t gotten all my recording gear setup at the moment.
God has given you a gift very few could even imagine. Great!
That and the 30,000 hours of practice.
Damn ! I think Waylon would approve !
Simply superb Trey, so happy I found your channel because you are truly an inspiration. Though I understand that at my age, that I can never reach this level of play and singing that you deliver . I feel that it is helping to keep my brain younger and fingers more nimble just from trying to follow you. Amazing keep em rolling please.
man that playing is gorgeous.
Outstanding
Unbelievable
Love this one. Listening from NB , Canada
Wowed. Your picking is so clean and crisp to take in, Trey. Well done. 💜
I love that song. Great job Trey God Bless ❤
Awesome Job!!
This fellow really believes in the music.
Repeat, repeat, repeat... awesome job! You are amazing & truly blessed!
Damn I want To learn this song. So good!
I can't remember ever watching somebody cover a Waylon Jennings song that made me think, "I wish Waylon could see this." You're the first. This could mean that the Great Secret will reveal itself to you next time.
Great job Trey.
Again sir, you do not disappoint. Great rendition! God bless.
That man can play and sang
Got o mighty brother ... Like a dam buzz saw on that gutiar !!!
Nice picking...great song!
Waylon, Merle, and Hank Jr are some of my favorites. Love your covers of the first two. Not sure if you've covered Hank Jr but I know you've covered Hank Sr (fan of his as well). Love your covers.
Amazing work. So clean…
How do u only have 10,000 subs?! Things are so fd up in this world. Wow bro u killed it. Better than when u were on the grand ole Opry.
Good Lawd!! That's some unbelievable pickin right there, Hoss
Damn that was killer!
Wicked
It's just ain't fair how fast and accurate and just plain fantastic you play. The Taylor looks like it has a wider neck and I thought it might be a 12 fret because slotted heads and 12 frets often go together but she's got 14. Interesting though.
Great as always Trey, can you do highway 40 blues by Ricky Skaggs next
Awesome cover Trey.
Good job!
FLAWLESS PICKING! That is so freaking good. Your videos make me want to play better guitar. I'm heading out for a lesson.
Genuine
Great flat picking. Very nice
just great Trey!
Saweeeeeet!!!!
Love 🥰 from Ireland 😍
Wow
I've been following your music since you were just a boy, GREAT picking and I love the fact that your are NOT covered up with ink and rings ! Ohh, try a Eastman E10D - they are AMAZING for the price, I have played one to death.. Billy Strings ain't got nothin on you.. KEEP up the picking.
And your great I love how you play
Super duper !
You are too good my friend. What a great rendition awesome picking
Ahh man, thank you very much! Hope we get a chance to pick a few together soon!!
Great picking
Trey should do a song with James Dupre.
Yep, time invested. Great job. Like the last name .......
Well crap!!!!! I came here to learn how to play this song or at least see the chords. Well I learned that this time will be the last time I try to learn a song from your channel 😄 unbelievable picking however
great playing , beautiful guitar. you play so many different guitars, dont you have a favourite?
*TREY, have you done any collaborations with Billy Strings ? I think you TWO TOGETHER on stage would be ONE🔥KILLER🔥ASS 🔥SHOW🔥‼️*
*Trey I hope that MEANS you're at least "thinking" about a collaboration 🙏👍👍👍*
Really enjoying your music. Would you consider playing “Wildwood Flower”?
What chords are you you playing the song in
My guitar just smoked a cigarette after watching that..
What type of guitar is this? Man you talk about tone.
Trey give me a lesson on how to make every note in every break sing with such clarity…please. Is it a strong wrist?
Assuming you're starting out super slow first developing the proper technique, did you check the action on your guitar? It could be too high and tense near the bridge. Trey is a monster picker though but I'm sure he put in a lot of effort to get to this level ;)
Use a heavy pick for starters. 1.4 mm or so...
Start at age 4 or 5...
Hey Brendan! For clarity, a metric ton of practice is about the only option. I find that my wrist positioning helps with clarity…staying relaxed and applying just the right amount of pressure. Changing how I practiced helped a lot with clarity and cleanliness of notes. A lot of repetitive practice.
And pick choices help too…I use a bluechip TAD60. I like the snap of the triangle corners with the beveled edges. Some people like rounded corners, and I do use round corners occasionally in the studio…but 99% of the time I use the TAD60 with three triangular sharp points. And the TAD60 is a really thick pick (1.5mm, I think). I always think finding the right pick is really crucial to your tone and sound…ie cleanliness and crispness of notes.
I do have a full course of instructional material for playing clean and fast over at bigmusictent.com. It’s a lengthy and expansive course, priced at a one time $30 fee. Check it out!
@@TreyAHensley I appreciate the info Trey, it’s real kind that you took the time to respond. I’ve always wanted a BC TAD but was nervous about misplacing it being that they’re so expensive. Anyways, I’ll continue to keep my nose to the grindstone with practicing and look into your course, much obliged as always!
That cross picking is on fire Trey
Will you listen to my songs on this channel
I say hire a singer so Trey can focus more on the guitar. Jimmy Hendrix could sing, but imagine if he had no distraction so he could go nuts on his picking.
So great. Daggum.
