New York city might not be safe, but cities in Europe could be. Crime will not usually happen to men, white, tall guy. It likely happens to women. I am 5"1' tall, 88lbs only, girl. I have been travelled to some countries, around 20, alone. Sometimes I spent nights at the airport or train station or ferry station to save money because I am a budget traveller. I could say cities in Europe (Frankfurt, Muenchen, Venice) and small places (Santorini) are safe. I don't dare to spend the night at the station in Asian cities, like Hongkong or Shanghai. It is more complicated. I am Asian. One city like this does not say the whole thing.

New york city is way better because of the concentrations of restaurants, pubs, clubs and shopping malls everywhere. New york city is known for having everything. And night life of new york city is the best, its literally a party city. Public transport is ok. But in terms of crime rates maybe chinese city will be better.

@@jasonbuddy1532 actually no, I have only been to hongkong but every internet article already mentions that the largest concentration of 24/7 shopping malls, restaurants, clubs and bars is in new york. I went to both new york and london. New york and london are too diverse with great range of different cuisine restaurants(of all regions of earth) and there are clubs for straight and lgbt as well. I don't think any city compares to new york or ibiza in partying in night life. Chinese cities are much more conservatives but cities in the west go all out.

@@Exol-d3tI’m from Hong Kong. There are many things just like you mentioned in Hong Kong everywhere. But in China, they may not build those facilities everywhere because they don’t have enough money and they are not fully developed. I don’t think it’s possible for China to have these facilities built everywhere because there are villages in all cities, even the ones that are well developed.
