    General Instructions on How to Fix Leaks on a Metal and Rubber Roof:
    1. Locate the leaky area. Either a seam or some flashing is the most common cause of leaks
    2. Remove all the caulking, tar, and tapes people have used to attempt repairs
    3. Use an angle grinder with a stiff wire brush to remove any silicone or tar and to smooth out the surface
    4. Take a rag and dose it with Lacquer Thinners to clean the surface of the area to be repaired
    5. Use masking tape to tape off the area where you want to make the repair
    6. Apply 1 thick coat of Super Silicone Seal or Super Silicone Seal over the seam or approximately 5" wide
    7. Embed the Polyester Fleece into the coating
    8. Apply a top coat of Super Silicone Seal or Super Silicone Seal over the Polyester Fleece. Make sure to cover the fleece completely.

    1. Estwing Flat bar - to remove heavy tar and caulking
    2. Angle Grinder
    Wire Brush
    3. Lacquer Thinners
    4. Rags
    5. Masking Tape
    6. Protective eyeglasses
    7. Scissors
    8. Leaf Blower or Broom

    I've learned quite a bit from you Dr. What is the difference between Turbo Poly Seal and Xtreme Silicon Seal; in purpose as well as application?

    Does this repair work on a transition from asphalt shingle roof to epdm flat roof as well?

      You are not supposed to have a shingle roof and a rubber roof joining each other unless they are seperated by a synthetic felt,the rubber will fail sooner being in contact with the rubber roof.
