Hey Marco Pricing a job is always the hardest thing to do. I try to earn between $2000 - $5000 per day. that includes material, labor and my expertise. Most of the time people have made such a big mess that it takes longer to clean up and fix it. then other times there is almost no prepping and I can get it done in no time. I have made a video that gives you a good idea how long it takes to fix a seam on a metal roof. This is the link to it ruclips.net/video/g-8BfK-hYdQ/видео.html
the most impressive step is your on the roof with sandals on lol. i love the videos. your also pretty much the only person on youtube posting metal roof videos and as a new owner of a older metal roof i like watching these
Great presentation I ordered the poly and aluminum asphalt paint but there was a very long shipping delay. Is there another product you would recommend at a local supply store.
Yes indeed rust will continue and I know from my own roof where rusting on the edges started on the underside. (capillary action, wind action and also condensation). I am sure there is extensive rust underneath and also he has applied seal without treating all the rust so it will continue to creep especially when the galvanising coating is gone. That roof needs to be lifted and the rust treated both sides, painted / sealed and then patch the holes . Or cut out and insert another piece of iron making sure that both sides and laps are thoroughly sealed as I guess the rust is extensive near the edges. I can see paint bubbling on the roof and that could also be from rusting pushing through from underneath. But partially lifting the roof iron etc costs much more time and money.
@@FlatRoofDoctor I think I'D was asking about the bare metal left between your repair and the blue paint on the roof in this video. Did you go back and paint the bare metal with regular paint or the aluminum paint? Or was that left to the customer to take care of?
How come you are wearing flip flops on the roof, if you are concerned about getting your shoes soaking wet, you should wear waterproof shoes like I do.
Waterproof shoes are rarely needed. So rare that I would never consider it. The reason I am wearing Flip Flops is because I have hurt the ball of my feet standing on a steep pitch roof for several weeks bending down. That really got me and the soft sole is a relief. Reef flip flops at $60 a pop
Hi folks , Really great info 👍 simply straight forward info as always from the flat roof doctor and Mrs flat roof doctor . Great entertainment thank you 😊 🙏
I like you man why didn't you just cut a 1-foot slice up the roof and get you some 2-foot Metal Sheets slip under there God can screw it be done with it look ten times better and 10 times faster... they still make that color and style
someone used tar on the valley on my garage metal roof before i bought the house. and its all cracked. prob done over 20 yrs ago im guessing. everytime it rains it goes right in there. they pretty much put the roof together with 2 different types of metal roof panels. almost as if they were leftovers. werent cut properly. old nails with rubber instead of screws and alot of nails missed the beams underneath and they left them. for the valley metal when i go in the garage and look up i can see writing on the metal. they used old signs lol. i mean it must of worked for some time as a temp roof. but ill have to try to reseal it and find all the holes as a temp fix because i cant afford a new roof but still trying to save it because its from the 1800s

I admire your preparation and attention to detail
what about the gap between the silver paint and the blue paint on the roof, the 3 inches of exposed metal roof
If you were to put paint on the turbo or silver, what type of paint? Oil water lacquer?
How much do you charge for fixed metal roof repair?
For feet or for square

Not that I know of. Hi Edwin. Thanks for the comment.
I hope this guy gets to finish his last job and retire happily . If he wants to keep going good for him . Thanks for all the great info on your vids
Can it be painted with an oil-based paint maybe?
yes
Do you own Bergstom Industries?
Like rust on a car, won’t the rust continue to grow under the turbo and material?

@@stuartmclaren2402 Yep thanks
what about the bare metal?
Not sure what you are asking. But it is always best to clean up the area from all other materials before making a repair

Just one old humble ROOF dogs opinion
Sure, that would work too. But the time and getting the profile would also be an issue

whats a drip edge?
The edge on a roof that allows water to flow over the edge preventing from flowing back into the structure
Buen trabajo 👍
