    The driver is the issue in this instance as they keep stopping at the wrong times - loosing momentum. The tires are also not up to par and seem to be slipping a lot. I would use a more aggressive tire design.

      Apparently you don't do much off-roading. I am pretty sure anyone familiar with that course could point out all the issues with the driver on that course. Thus it makes it hard to know if there is a real issue or not. The one thing it does seem to highlight, is that Tesla software does not seem to be setup to help the driver in this situations. And by the way I am not a Tesla fan at all.

    I own an ioniq. In slippery conditions due to the quick response time of the throttle and higher torque wheel spin happens a lot. I suspect that had something to do with the wheel spin on that climb. Didnt look that bad though.

    It slipped a couple times. But the tires are shit. Proper tires, weight, independent suspension is what makes something climb. Which the cybertruck as both except the tires. But I'm sure those are just the stock tires.

    As dumb as those videos where expensive cars with crap summer tires are pitted up against cheap cars with ice winters for a road race in the snow. Grip, tires and capable drivers win every time. Locking diffs and ground clearance is the measure off road. Where an electric is likely to fail miserly is in fording water not on power.

      People have a lot of “show off” money. We all do it in some way, I like the idea of making things look different, I just don’t trust a company that consistently over promises and under delivers. But it really seems to work on people these days. I like my brother’s Tesla, but he is literally the least car knowledgeable person I know.
      This will be interesting. People will buy them. We’ll need to see if they ever improve or become cheaper or are useful. The first gen of buyers will be mostly just showing off, though.

    • @Turboactive
      @Turboactive 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@choco-latte608 Right but torque is torque. An EV has all it's torque throughout the whole rev range, sure, but that torque is multiplied by the gearing and if there is not enough torque then it can't climb. That's why Rivian patented a low range for their trucks, they need more torque. Normal trucks also have torque converters that multiply torque from a stop which EVs also don't have. I converted a Land Cruiser to EV and go rock crawling with it so I have lots of experience with this type of thing.
