personally i've bought two mystery packs from Rev, both at different waves. First pack was a green tier, second pack was a gold tier with a jungle pack inside. It def is not a scam you just have to expect that the odds are probably not going to be in your favor.
Every retailer and merchant gets their product super cheap and in bulk . It's what happens when you have liquid assets (cash) and can afford to pay wholesale prices or in revs case...bulk . You don't get mad at Walmart when they sell you a 10 cent light bulb for a dollar but you'll be upset at your common man for being a hustler . He makes free content opening expensive packs and sealed product none of us will ever touch . Everything he does is free for us to consume . God forbid he cashes in a bit. Don't like it make more money and buy whatever you want
I think the main criticism of when people see him open up his own packs is, (and we don't really know how big each batch is), when he then pulls any good tier, he takes that out of the running for the people that buy them. It's one less God pack someone else will get. The price thing, I really don't get how people don't understand that when pokemon product new or old revolves around the same concept lol.

This isn’t against revs packs, but you mentioned Danny’s packs and those were by far the best value mystery pack that I have seen. Getting six packs for less than $30 with a chance of getting something all the way back to base still for the bonus pack was crazy good.

He has said they were made a some level of a loss though too, which is cool for the sake of doing a one-off project to support the community. If he was able to do it again for like $40ish he would still be beating out everyone else in the mystery pack game I bet.

The honest truth is that if you not a high stakes risk taker…DONT BUY THESE PACKS, on average you will lose out big time. On the the low end you will pay to 70-78 dollars which includes shipping and sales tax for the U.S. If you want to support a. Creator, buy something that’s offered for better value. The same people saying it’s a scam are the same people who will spend loads of money on digital loot boxes and skins 😭😭
I think the biggest oopsie was getting that rainbow taken out of the possibilities might be a problem for some. But surely the volume he’ll sell will negate that issue

Definitely not gonna waste my time getting in an uproar of PokeRev packs. I bought them once, got a good Black & White era pack from them, it will stay unopened for funsies. I generally don't buy mystery packs but Danny P's were good. $27 for 7 packs, at one point they contained at least an Evolving Skies pack + a Sun & Moon era pack, sometimes something better. I pulled a Rayquaza VMAX alt art from one of Danny's ES packs so I figured I've used up my luck, I'm good now.

Personally, i think mystery products are trash, just a sneaky way to unload stuff you dont want ( pogo, obsidian flames. Etc.) But i do think the people who buy and complain about it can't blame anyone but themselves. The Phanny packs were absolutely worth the money, you at minimum got your value back.

Opening your own products is never a good idea. My issue with Rev is that he loves making videos reviewing mystery packs he buys on eBay, Amazon, etc. and he does it to make them look bad and make himself look as if he was the only honest guy in town. The ony one you should buy from. Let me elaborate: Whenever a mystery box he buys doesn't get him his money's worth, he makes all sorts of weird faces, calls it a scam, tells his audience not to buy them... BUT when YOU don't get your money's worth opening HIS (Rev) packs, he doesn't see it that way. He doesn't seem to think it's a scam. How convenient! All of a sudden, not getting your money's worth isn't a big deal! Oops, try again. I just can't stand the double standard. Mystery packs in general CAN'T and WON'T get your money's worth every single time. It's business, and it wouldn't be profitable to do so. You're paying for a chance. His mystery packs aren't different from many other sellers. Also, who can say for sure that the mystery boxes he shows us are actually from sellers on online marketplaces? I can just put a lot of low-value stuff in a box and unbox it on camera, saying it's from such and such when it really isn't - for the purpose of making my mystery boxes look better than the competition.

Danny P is probably the only mystery pack that has value regardless but he 100% sells those at a loss.

That's just how mystery packs work. You pay more for the chance of a vintage pack. When you buy it you know what you're getting yourself into. And tbf, pokerev packs are probably the fairest ones on the market. The odds are actually disclosed on the pack and are likely better than anywhere else.

If I'm paying $60 for 6 packs of cards I can get from TCG player for $4, that's a gamble. I'll just buy the Packs I want. Also, I do buy way more singles than packs.

Content creatirs opening their own mystery stuff is idd but not new. Aside leonhart had done it, so has Vault X, if i remember right. They made these containers containing 3 graded coins on slabs and theres a chance one slab could be a different color which means its something good. One time on their own channel they opened oneand got a good slab. Then i watched other people open them and didnt get anything really good. Just reminds me of it.
Danny Phanny Packs were the only time in human history that Mystery Packs were a fair deal. And those are gone forever now. So complaining about the price of something that is a gamble on top of a gamble. A literal double gamble product in which you are almost guaranteed to lose 80%+ upon opening…. Going up $5 is hilarious to me. You already are throwing your money away, might as well flush an extra $5.

Rev packs are fine mane. They aren’t total dogshit like a lot of em out there. They still are a gamble. I’ve had fun with em here and there but don’t buy them anymore. Never got a gold but got like 2-3 silvers
One thing Rev could have done is 1. Like you said, give away the packs to subscribers or 2. pushed it to the side and had his people repackage the rainbow pack to be sent out again. It shows that it can be pulled, but also doesn’t show him rubbing it in people’s face that he gets to open expensive packs. It’s not a scam though, it’s called the cost of running a business.
When he was asked where he gets at least some of his packs, he answered stadium boxes. Got them cheaper, that they even break the boxes down to ship in bulk for him, and in my experience this product has the worst pull rates. So the packs going a little higher shouldn’t really do much on his end. So i take the reasoning behind raising prices with skepticism. Not that saying anything will do anything, i have zero pull.

I don’t buy revs packs but I do buy from his eBay every now and again picked up one of his neo destiny shinings that was featured on his channel that he also said he wasn’t selling any of em in the video it was featured in but it was like a year ago when he sent all of his shinings in to be graded I guess he either changed his mind and or upgraded the shining steelix and didn’t need it anymore, who knows but I’m so damn stoked that I own it! 💯

Bro one of the things that hasn't been spoken about enough is the fixed odds (including rainbows) which then would have been drastically changed when he "pulled" one? (let's just be straight up here) I mean either that or the odds remain the same because it was put aside as a set up.. Either way It reminded me of Leonhart and that was lame. I love Rev's content, awesome dude, obviously very smart and I love these products (never bought one but the selections are great and my brain has developed enough to understand the word mystery) but this just wasn't a great move. PokeDean doesn't cop because He's literally the most legit out there, dude will have a full blown convo with you about a card / expansion over his lives, first time I saw him was via a CTR raid and I was impressed asf, fits right in with Sean, Nick, Ryan etc IMO. I bought prob 12 4.0 packs including 3 holiday ones so 12 total I pulled 6 silver 3 red 3 green I already way outbeat his odds haha it’s all luck not to mention he put a silver tempest booster pack in one of my holiday packs that was green but I pulled the lugia v alt art from one of the 5 packs you get random. It’s all luck and it’s all a gamble

That's just how mystery packs work. You pay more for the chance of a vintage pack. When you buy it you know what you're getting yourself into. And tbf, pokerev packs are probably the fairest ones on the market. The odds are actually disclosed on the pack and are likely better than anywhere else.

What’s really funny is the justification is valid. He added a new tier that upgrades your base packs to Sun and Moon packs. That’s what the price increase of $3 was for.

I stopped following anyone that sells mystery packs, not because i think they are scammy but it creates a gambling culture. Danny phantump is the only on i the didnt unsubscribe to because his mystery packs get you value even at the lowest tier. Nothing against these creators its just a moral choice. You bought a pack of cards for a game, you know you are buying 10 cards from a specific set to expand your game. There's no risk and you aren't overpaying. If you are just a collector and want only specific cards I can see your argument, for me collecting is the bonus of the hobby. If there's a specific card I want that I didn't get I'll just buy it.
@@travisryan847 just look at the money aspect. It is generally $3 - $5 a pack. A mystery pack generally boosts that price up to $8-$15 a pack or more, and you have no idea what you are buying. If I'm paying $60 for 6 packs of cards I can get from TCG player for $4, that's a gamble. I'll just buy the Packs I want. Also, I do buy way more singles than packs.

Content creatirs opening their own mystery stuff is idd but not new. Aside leonhart had done it, so has Vault X, if i remember right. They made these containers containing 3 graded coins on slabs and theres a chance one slab could be a different color which means its something good. One time on their own channel they opened oneand got a good slab. Then i watched other people open them and didnt get anything really good. Just reminds me of it.

Danny Phanny Packs were the only time in human history that Mystery Packs were a fair deal. And those are gone forever now. So complaining about the price of something that is a gamble on top of a gamble. A literal double gamble product in which you are almost guaranteed to lose 80%+ upon opening…. Going up $5 is hilarious to me. You already are throwing your money away, might as well flush an extra $5.

I’m mostly talking about when he only sold “God packs” he has updated his mystery packs now so at least there are Pokemon packs in there. He used to only sell god packs and they are so so bad. Look up some videos. Hahah
Rev packs are fine mane. They aren’t total dogshit like a lot of em out there. They still are a gamble. I’ve had fun with em here and there but don’t buy them anymore. Never got a gold but got like 2-3 silvers
One thing Rev could have done is 1. Like you said, give away the packs to subscribers or 2. pushed it to the side and had his people repackage the rainbow pack to be sent out again. It shows that it can be pulled, but also doesn’t show him rubbing it in people’s face that he gets to open expensive packs. It’s not a scam though, it’s called the cost of running a business.
Yeah that’s my only real criticism
When he was asked where he gets at least some of his packs, he answered stadium boxes. Got them cheaper, that they even break the boxes down to ship in bulk for him, and in my experience this product has the worst pull rates. So the packs going a little higher shouldn’t really do much on his end. So i take the reasoning behind raising prices with skepticism. Not that saying anything will do anything, i have zero pull.

I don’t buy revs packs but I do buy from his eBay every now and again picked up one of his neo destiny shinings that was featured on his channel that he also said he wasn’t selling any of em in the video it was featured in but it was like a year ago when he sent all of his shinings in to be graded I guess he either changed his mind and or upgraded the shining steelix and didn’t need it anymore, who knows but I’m so damn stoked that I own it! 💯

Bro one of the things that hasn't been spoken about enough is the fixed odds (including rainbows) which then would have been drastically changed when he "pulled" one? (let's just be straight up here) I mean either that or the odds remain the same because it was put aside as a set up.. Either way It reminded me of Leonhart and that was lame. I love Rev's content, awesome dude, obviously very smart and I love these products (never bought one but the selections are great and my brain has developed enough to understand the word mystery) but this just wasn't a great move.
