      Hey Zack, great question. So... there is some nuance to this. The short answer is... yes I use it and yes want to do more how to specific videos for it. But... ran into this issue. RUclips HATES when your channel does out of the norm stuff (like me doing software tutorials). Because it isn't like rest of ny videos perse. Which, for me is fine, but.mm thst means you tube won't push it out and none of my subscribers even know I did the video. It's SUPER frustrating for me and them. So... I'm trying to think of a better way to handle that you know. Like a 2nd channel for that kind of stuff or just on a site I have coming soon. Not sure yet to be honest. It's been a bit of a struggle honestly

    Great video! I was wondering if you could do a video on how you manage shipping supplies in Craftybase? I use CB but haven't been tracking shipping supplies (I just enter them as a biz expenses without tracking). If you track your shipping boxes, how do you keep this updated in CB? Do you just note which size and how many you used that day and then adjust? Do you apply it to the order some way? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm just not seeing an effective and efficient way to do this, but I really need to know which size boxes I'm using the most, when to reorder (besides being in an "oh beep!" situation and out of the box I need), etc. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip! Great video! When is comes to shipping your own products how to do base the price of shipping? What is your advise on this?

    • @BlackTieBarn
      @BlackTieBarn  Год назад +1

      It's kinda hard to answer because it will vary by everyone's products and average shipping weight. But I basically just run a bunch of example shipments to come up with an average cost of shipping for just 1 product up to several. And to several locations. I then just choose a flat amount that helps with some of the cost and the the rest I eat or is built into pricing. Additional products make the problem less of a problem. :)

    Enjoy your videos. Why not just use a 3PL to pack and ship? This would allow you to scale and send pallets of candles directly to 3PL warehouse. Free up so much of your time! Integration into your Shopify/Wordpress/Wix automatically. You make awesome candles and RUclips content and these are your two strengths that should be scaled. Packing and shipping without sounding condescending is beneath you. Always believe that in order to scale you need to focus on what you are great at (candle making, design etc) and outsource everything else. Just my two cents from a fellow Texan

      I have but my process for fulfillment is faster and cheaper. I went back to in house fulfillment while ago. Works great for me. And have the space. It works well for me. I'll go back to it possibly in future for specific brands but not for this. I also really shot this aspect and have a lot more control. And to be fair, I don't this all this myself. I have people help with fulfillment. And still cheaper than 3pl. So it works for us. :)

    Hey Wade! I have a question for you
    I have dumped 464 wax and decided to try other waxes, PB600 being one of them and I ordered the premier series samples from you sooo yaaay one of those packages is for me 😅… my question is : if a candle I make is under-wicked would it be a good idea for me to reuse the same wax but with different wick? Basically I remelt the candle I was testing (FO already there too and same jar ) but I put a bigger size wick
    🤔

    • @BlackTieBarn
      @BlackTieBarn  Год назад +2

      Yes you can absolutely do that and keep testing. What I always recommend is once you find one you like and seems to work... make another with that wick and verify. :)

    Hey Wade! I noticed for the shipping options on your shopify site that you have two options, Standard Shipping and Preferred Shipping and both calculate the weight of the shipment. I've recently started setting up a site with shopify and can't seem to get the same functionality. When I set up shipping using USPS rates (which is the only way shopify seems to automatically calculate the shipping price via the weight) I have to use one of the many preset USPS options, none of which are just "standard or preferred". How were you able to get yours to function with just the two options? Was it by creating custom shipping options? I understand this is a pretty loaded question, so I completely understand if you don't want to answer, but it would be greatly appreciated!
