Thats pretty cool. I love the idea of giving candle buyers not only a chance to create their own scent, but also kinda get a peek behind the curtain of candle making.
Great video, did he mention what wick/size he used? I am a beginner and I am confused how they pick 1 wick to go with all those different fragrance oils.
Awesome video. Love the way you put it together- from the experience to the interview. Super informative and easy to watch. Thanks for sharing, Wade! And good luck to Corks and Candles - best candle bar business model I’ve seen out there.
Very cool! Awesome that they are working on expanding (franchising) so early in their business endeavors. Thanks for sharing! That palo santo blend has me eager to test out some palo santo variations myself, for winter candles.
Hello, great video. I thought about this concept few years ago, like the painting or pottery painting places it’s all about the experience and taking home something you made. Love it…!
I LOVED watching this ! Very interesting ! Also loved her shirt, I just looked it up and ordered one ! Lol 😝 thank you for sharing this going to watch it again ! ❤️
What a great video! I love this entrepreneurial drive and the fact that Cork and candles isnt afraid to put their goals out there like that. Good luck with the second store and with setting up the franchises.
@@BlackTieBarn darn I am coming back for the family reunion beginning of August. Maybe I’ll see ya the follow trip! Good luck with the store launch. We love your candles 🕯️!
Yoooooo I had this idea. And I still have a similar idea that I think ppl would love. And That’s in King of Prussia??? Wow, ima stop by there in the next couple days.
This would be so much fun to attend even though I make candles. I don’t sell them. I feel like I haven’t found the wax, wick combo yet. I have plenty of vessels and plenty of wax.
This is an awesome concept. I do have one question. Is the customer free to pick any oil? What happens if a customer picks a very dense oil combination, how do they know the wicking will work?
VERY interesting video to show different avenues of candle making, the behind story and business model. How was the hot throw when burned? Interesting how the mix and pour happened. He uses soy blend at 170. Is it PB600 or IGI6006?
Loved this video! I’m only an hour from KoP so I will definitely check them out. I’m so curious to see how they cool the candles so people can take them in 30 minutes. I use coco/apricot wax and it can take two hours or more to set.
WoW This was great to watch!! I have This wick question. IT looks like THE wicks were allready in THE jars. Do all THE fragrances get THE same wick? Thans from THE Netherlands. Btw Lets open à bar overhere 💫👌
thank you for this video, But I am wondering how come customer will mix different oils of his preference and the wick is their already, and I am learning now that different oil might need different wick
The short answer is that he has ashtray tested the oils and using oils that work well with the same wick. Yes... different fragrance oils CAN change the such size but not always. Just sometimes. :)
Hi Wade, I love the vlog. May I ask how are they accelerating the wax coming process? Are they putting them in a cool water bath or in a fridge? Or is it because they use a soy & praffran blend?
I think that is meant more for mixing raw materials fragrances and developing your own. These ate just blending pre-made oils. They also test these . :)
But doesn’t this concept go against nearly everything we know to do to properly test a fragrance, in our wax of choice with wicks that produce a fantastic result???
Not really. They do ample testing. And that's why there is a specific set of oils, jars, and wax used. Yes someone could do some craY unexpected ratio that might make it not 100% ideal but if that's the case the ratios of each don't make a huge overall impact. Plus, this is more of an experience than making luxury candles for a boutique ya know. Like a painting party with friends vs real painting lessons. There might be an occasional bust but that can be addressed or replace I imagine. I also imagine it's rare. :)
I dont think this concept would work in the uk (sadly) because each candle would need a warning label relating to each fragrance oil blend used. But it seems like C+C do a fair amount of testing to make sure the candles will burn well.
Don't have one. This was just done on the fly by ourselves with what we had. Aren't professionals with video.cjust doing this for fun and to help out. :)
Thanks Wade, I’ve been making candles since the 70’s and the inventiveness of we humans still amazes. Share the Joy…Enjoy the Journey!

Congrats to them love the concept ..I’ve been approached to doing something like this along with my store..wish I had the time ..maybe in the future !

This is a beautiful concept. Love it so much. Thanks for this video!
You're so welcome!
I have to wonder how they cure it so quickly?! Great concept! I was just working on something close to this! ❤❤❤
They have a system for it that sends info home with customer and also a reminder system.
@BlackTieBarn Interesting!! Would have loved a beh8nd the scenes!! Great post Wade!!
that is an awesome idea. i have been dying to do something like this with making soap.

Great video!!! Loved my Candlefish experience!!!

This is an awesome concept. I do have one question. Is the customer free to pick any oil? What happens if a customer picks a very dense oil combination, how do they know the wicking will work?
It could happen but with their testing of all their oils I believe the majority or all work with what they have and have tested
This is wonderful 😍
Thank you! 😊
Love it. Thanks for sharing
Great video!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Currently in our second year as a family business and struggling to scale up to keep up with demand
Well that's a great problem! :)
This is awesome
😁
VERY interesting video to show different avenues of candle making, the behind story and business model. How was the hot throw when burned? Interesting how the mix and pour happened. He uses soy blend at 170. Is it PB600 or IGI6006?
It's neither but fairly close to 600
Loved this video! I’m only an hour from KoP so I will definitely check them out. I’m so curious to see how they cool the candles so people can take them in 30 minutes. I use coco/apricot wax and it can take two hours or more to set.
Yah certain waxes just flat out won't work. Lol
WoW This was great to watch!! I have This wick question. IT looks like THE wicks were allready in THE jars. Do all THE fragrances get THE same wick?
Thans from THE Netherlands.
Btw Lets open à bar overhere 💫👌
They have done a lot of testing. He said most get the same yes. If it's too different they probably wouldn't use that FO
I've never seen candles set so fast. 15min😮
It's accelerated on purpose. And vertain wax types can handle it
I’m curious how they accelerate it? I use 464, which take forever to cool.
Where do you locate? Sound like fun. What's your website?
How do you know how the wick is going to burn accurately? Blending scents and not wick testing is what I’m afraid of.
thank you for this video, But I am wondering how come customer will mix different oils of his preference and the wick is their already, and I am learning now that different oil might need different wick
The short answer is that he has ashtray tested the oils and using oils that work well with the same wick. Yes... different fragrance oils CAN change the such size but not always. Just sometimes. :)
How much to start this business!! How much with all the products?
Hi Wade, I love the vlog. May I ask how are they accelerating the wax coming process? Are they putting them in a cool water bath or in a fridge? Or is it because they use a soy & praffran blend?
The blend itself cools fairly quickly but also on a shelf with fans
I thought paraffin is a bad wax to use because it’s a petroleum product. It’s not clean.
Do you have the customer add there own wax? If so do you have them sign a waiver
What is the cost? Ty
I wonder how they manage their inventory?
❤
In Europa they say you should not mix fragrances on your own as you do not know how the chemicals interact... 😮
I think that is meant more for mixing raw materials fragrances and developing your own. These ate just blending pre-made oils. They also test these . :)
@@BlackTieBarn Okay, I understand! 🌹 In any case, he has a beautiful space and it s a brilliant idea 💡! 🌹 ❤️

Q tips and an empty jar/container would seem to be a better way to measure the ratio. Just saying. Great concept though.
Candle cooled in 15 mins 😮😮😮 How??
Can we talk about how cute and hot the owner of Cork & Candles is?!?! 😉😘🥰
🤣🤣🤣 I'm sure his wife thinks so as well. 🤣🤣
