I am a total beginner and have not even started to crochet my first piece yet! But your tutorial is well-paced and easy to follow, once I get some practice I'm sure I could do this. It is just the kind of dress I would love to start making, truly beautiful, thank you for being so kind to share your work!
We are on second lockdown in California also and so understand what you are going through. This pattern looks so smart and I hope not to complicated. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I just finished making a sweater with ribbing on collar, cuffs and waist, so I am all warmed up for this dress with the same stitch.
I made a few changes. Mine is in Kelly green. I added long sleeves and made a square open neck. This is for my grown daughter. Still working on it trying to find an edging stitch for the neckline. Any suggestions, I am looking for something different than the usual scallops or shells?
I hope you are well Stella and keeping warm this 2023 winter is supposed to be really cold here in sunny California they may have to rename it snowy California here in the mountains. Well I made one for my daughter and now it is time one for mamma I am 79 and still crocheting.! My hubby Carl makes me breakfast lunch and dinner in bed due to my disabilities. But I can crochet from bed yay! I will also make mine calf length.
Just subscribed and love this! It's also great you put the written pattern in your description! Thank you so much for taking the extra time and effort to do that!
Hi Stella.....I LOVE THIS!!!!! I will definitely be making this dress but I think I will use very thin shoulder pads for shaping as I already have broad shoulders. Thank you for sharing your gift with us......
Hi Stella well it has been a long long time but I am back and will be making this dress again. I will make it in 2 colors teal and peach. I will post the finished dress. Here I go…..
Good luck but i think if you have made a piece or two of crocheted garments, this is not difficult at all.Just the outcome is so nice but not difficult at all ,once you understand the logic behind it ;-)
Hello, I am a new subscriber, thank you for your beautiful tutorial! I want to make this beautiful dress! May I ask how much yarn did you use? Thank you again!
Love from South Africa. Stay safe and thank you for the video! I need this dress. Looks like we're in for a hectically cold winter this year so I mean to be ready!
Thank u so much .. i love the way ur methode for making and explaining the dress .. n CM , as i know only u mentioned CM which we r use in indonesia for measure anything .. thank u
@@bboice08 Unfortunately no pattern for this dress :-( It was just one time made for myself and i thought to film it and post the video but it takes lots of time to write the pattern and sizes.
Thanks for this tutorial. it's the first time I'm following any directions. The problem I think I'm having though is matching my needle with the yarn that's available to us here.i have a complete pack of needles but only one kind of yarn. So it seems the waistline would be tight. It's rather thin already compared to what you have there.
How big would you suggest I make the waist- mine is 78cm, but I don't have to make each panel 37cm (78/2) right? When it's laid out flat and not stretched. But I'm not sure how big to make it?
Sorry i haven`t been around much.Had my son for 2 weeks in quarantane at home, couldn`t do anything.Plz check the comment i left to the turtle neck problem :-)
Here in California we have been in a lockdown since last March so we understand. I agree we live in the mountains and it is cold so I will make it with long sleeves and a little longer as I am 76. I heard you say this is a size S, how many rows do I need for size M.
Great dress and it suits you perfectly! Do you have any suggestions on how to adjust the number of stiches if I used a heavier yarn? How do you determine how many centimeters you crochet on hdc and then you change to sc. It would be great if you could give measurements in centimeters instead of stiches. If it is not possible, don't worry! Your pattern is just great!
Great idea! You can make your own sample stitches if you want to measure how many st you need with your yarn.I usually make a square 15 cm by 15 cm with the yarn , hook and stitch i want to use and from there i measure how many stitches and rows i have i a square of 10*10 cm .Once i have this information i can apply to find out how many st and rows i need for my measurements. Its also called gauge.Im still working on how to use it in other sizes so soon i will have patterns with gauges and other sizes available in my channel.I just need some time to put all these together. The measurements of this dress are from the center of the neck at the back till the sc st =25 cm , sc section =23 cm , hdc bottom section = 45 cm .From shoulder to shoulder is about 42 cm but is a bit streched .The waist is 22 cm ( not stretched ) If you need other info let me know :-)
Thank you for this gorgeous crochet dress pattern! You have done a terrific job! Just a question: can you add sleeves for this pattern please? And how much yarn did you use? Hugz..:)
Yes, absolutely you can.You can try the sleeves that i used for this tutorial ruclips.net/video/tQURFYnbvhA/видео.html . For the whole dress i used 10 skeins. The yarn is in the description box. Thank you so much and hope to see your work as well.
@ByStellaM - Hello, I've started making this lovely dress, but I'm confused by your written pattern vs what you are saying in the video. So, is the 2nd and 3rd rows repeat are 44 hdc, 42 sc, 80 hdc and vice versa, OR is this a typo in the written pattern: 2nd row:2 ch,insert hook 3rd st back loop hdc,"43" hdc back loop, 42 sc, 80 hdc (all st back loop) 3rd row:2 ch,insert 3rd st back loop hdc,"78" hdc,42 sc, 44 hdc (all st back loop)
Hi Stella! Coincidentally, I have the exact color shade and size but a different brand. Thanks for the written pattern as well. It's not easy writing a pattern. What size is this dress for? If making it for a Medium to Large adult, how many stitches? Or how to take the measurements? Please stay well and stay safe.
Hi Tris Great to know you have already all the materials to make this one.Its easy really.First decide the length you need as this dress is made lengthwise. After you crochet the first row of ch st ,divide in 3 sections ,top section hdc, middle section sc and bottom section hdc .Crochet first 2 rows and adjust the 3 sections.Once you know the right amount of st,crochet same pattern until you arrive at beginning of neck. From there decrease 1 or 2 st per row at the top section until you arrive at the middle of the front panel.Than Follow the same pattern for the other half but just make increases instead of decreases. The back is easy, just repeat the same pattern over and over from one shoulder to the other.I hope all this makes sense ,im not sure im explaining all well.
@@ByStellaM , what size is your dress? And if u want to help somebody, u can use Google translate like all people who not understand your language. Anyway, live like that and thanks..
i havent make a pattern in sizes for this one unfortunately. You just take your measurements and try on as you go.When you arrive at your neck area start decreasing and increasing same as i did.Follow the same way but with you own st.Hope this helps :-)
