That design and styling was ahwad of its time. It may come from 1989 but definitely looked like it was designed in the early 2000s. Arguably one of the most beautiful cars ever built.

What a race car the C9. Capable of 400km/h with 900 Hp. The C11 have 950 Hp aproximaty. You gotta love the sound of that V8 german engine sounding like the best V8 american muscle car engine and you some how manege to not put that engine sound.

It's because people don't understand how much of a Lauda-esque genius Schumacher is when it comes to developing a winning vehicle. Schumacher brought Ferrari out of a slump into a major win streak for several years, was forced to retire, then hired back out of retirement by Mercedes to help build them an unstoppable vehicle alongside Rossberg and their engineers.
nope, absolutely not. Much shorter straights. It wouldn't win anything on the current Le Mans track. That car would'nt be able to use all the power in an efficient way. Those LMP1 are fast af, they are quicker from 0 to 100km/h than F1 and have AWD when accelerating. The TS050 are as reliable as it gets. That's another HUGE bonus. No Sir, never ever would they win. They wouldn't even win in LMP2.

I was lucky enough to be at Le Mans in 1989 and saw the C9 in the wild, along with XJR9s, Aston AMR 1s, Mazda 767s, Toyotas, Nissans, Spices. But the best Group C car was always the armada of 956/962s. Because Porsche would sell you one if wanted to go racing. Without that car Group C would of been a very different series. So it's great to hear Aston Martin are going to do the same with their new WEC Hypercar.

When the 787b won the race, the rules were already set for next year banning the rotary engine. It was a "do or die" scenario for Mazda. It was not banned for defeating Mercedes. In fact, Mercedes defeated themselves with reliability issues, otherwise, they had the ability to win the race.

The company is based in Affalterbach, the cars are built in the same factory as AMG’s road car engines by the same technicians. HWA also builds the GT3 and GT4 cars for Mercedes-AMG’s customer racing program. Point is, the original comment about Mercedes having no racing footprint between 1955 and 2010 is absurd.
@@SikhWitIt13 AMG itselt was a completely independant company to Mercedes until it was purchased by Daimler in 1999. I never said Mercedes had no footprint in motorsport, just that they never had a factory team. This is undeniable

It's a tiny Engine that beat all the big boys through reliability, economy and flame spitting, Rotary Revving power. No need to be salty. Hey, at least we won when there was competition, unlike Toyota where everyone has left so all you have to do is beat yourself.
