Great Escape's purpose isn't to be a huge thrill park. Six Flags likes keeping it a family friendly fun park since lots of families come to the area and go to the lake. Great Escape isn't really in or near a big city like the rest of the Six Flags parks. They don't really get a whole lot of attendance numbers. Not because they don't add huge coasters, but just because it doesn't have a big city to draw from.

No raptors, 2 superloops, and another freespin. The coasters look great, and New England and Great Adventure will probably get some next year, because it's a huge anniversary for New England, and due time for great adventure. Great escape got jipped. Big time. It looks like freaking teacups in water.

I was looking forward to a raptor or steeplechase at Great Escape, since the park was looking like they were going to add a coaster. The last coaster related thing they did was removed Nightmare for the 2009 season, so it's almost been 10 years since they last removed one and over 20 since they last added a thrill coaster. They actually are getting 2 new water rides the aqua twist and something else. They are also redoing one of the splash pads, which they just did in 2015 and are rethemeing the water park to Hurricane Harbor and the park to Six Flags Great Escape Resort and keeping the lodge a Six Flags Great Escape Lodge. They also refer to it as the most thrilling resort in NY which is weird since they own the management rights to DL and they refuse to add new major thrill rides to Great Escape.

new england really needs a new coaster. in 2017 was a freespin which is technically a coaster, but before that it was wicked cyclone in 2015, which is great, but before that it was a used vekoma giant inverted boomerang which is literally always closed.
@@rzepko please Great Escape hasn't gotten a thrill coaster since 1998 and you want to say you need a coaster. SFNE will get one in 2020, but that will be a launch coaster back behind Blizzard River. Great Escape is way over due, but it will be 2021 at the earliest now.

I think it is a little strange they chose to add a dueling coaster at SFMM since they already have Twisted Colossus. I feel like that would be better at literally any other Six Flags park
Great America is getting Maxx Force, so that works for it, because it's launch coaster is...V2. It is solid it got exactly what it needed. On the other hand, your so right. What does Magic Mountain need that for? They couldn't come up with something way more original for MM, while giving "West Coast Racers" to say, Six Flags Great Adventure, whose launch coaster is...a strata that breaks down a lot, and everyone misses Chiller. Or Over Georgia, which has no launch coaster? I kinda hope these two launch coasters are meant to see whose more reliable and they'll keep building stuff like this at parks that either do need it almost as a gap filler/hole in the lineup or have waited too long for a new coaster.

honestly i don't get why they didn't do that. I mean, considering Cobra's trains were shorter than the other B&M made stand ups (as opposed to it, and the two others that used to exist that use the same track system that use B&M track b4 it was it's own company), maybe it'd cost too much to get customs? It seems like bs, I mean they make up plently of bad reasons to remove coasters (like how parks can't keep arrow loopers when vekoma can give them new trains and S&S bought rights to all of arrow's stuff so they can give them new parts and motors, etc.). They could've at least replaced it with a free spin, finally used that total mayhem name they paid to have the rights too but then ditched for six flags gadv's joker instead.
Cobra was made by Intamin. It was one of the very few Intamin coasters in the world to have a B&M Track.

They’ve not added a custom coaster since El Toro in 2006. I was still in High School..... I’m 30 now.
Green Lantern is terrible and they removed a fan favorite to add it and The Joker 4D coaster is a massively cloned ride...
I love Giant Discoveries. They are fantastic Rides. But it is long overdue for a park that is a massive tourist attraction and is with in a stones throw of Philly, NYC and the Jersey Shore.

Magic mountain gets another massive ride, specifically a dueling coaster, despite having Twisted Colossus dueling coaster already, and the largest collection of coasters in the chain.
This is ridiculous.
New England has gotten essentially garbage in the past bunch of seasons. Goliath is never operational and is double of Flashback, Harley Quinn hasn’t been operating yet and is a double of tomahawk, Joker brings barely any guests, despite being a pretty fun ride, and Wicked Cyclone, the last good ride we’ve got, replaced the best coaster in the park, so we actually got a downgrade.
I think it’s hilarious that they were literally so ashamed of their addition to SFNE that they wouldn’t show a decent shot of it.
I’m honestly really pissed.

It is about time someone called wicked cyclone a downgrade, the original was way better. like most of them, besides maybe rattler. ruined gci roar to joker, total downgrade to sfdk. hopefully they leave "roar east" alone. They NEED to get "Goliath" out of six flags new england. Sell it or scrap it. make some room. relocate the other one to somewhere else in the park, or send it to six flags america but with the new vest restraints (honestly they got the first invertigo and lost it really quick so I think it'd actually be a good fit there). Honestly they should build some better coasters, I saw no raptors, no conversions or ground ups, no skywarp, the closest RMC is a free spinf or discovery kingdom which makes perfect sense for there. Hopefully they will start working to get some six flags parks that don't have them some solid launch coasters, great america is covered. hopefully they will move through the chain. Some do have some good ones from premiere but some also have just ok ones (V2 at great america but that's fixed now), some don't have any, and some have ones that are pieces of crap (kindga ka at SFGADV, and b4 that chiller).

For those who are a bit confused with how accurate this video is, some rides changed between this video's release and the parks' openings. For example, West Coast Racers at Magic Mountain was delayed to January 2020 due to delays with track delivery from Premier Rides, The Joker Wild Card at Fiesta Texas was given a new subtitle: "Carnival of Chaos," Lone Star Revolution at Six Flags Over Texas was renamed to El Diablo, and Cyborg at Six Flags New England was given the subtitle: "Hyper Drive."

Last we got was the American Thunder, the GCI, in 2008.
After that all we got was a Vekoma Boomerang in 2013, and a bunch of flats (Although justice league was cool, I'll admit.)

Right... Laronde celebrated it's 50th anniversary last year. All they did was add a pendulum ride, tear down an old intamin stand-up coaster and leave Le Monstre (tallest wooden dueling coaster in the world SBNO...) Now, we're getting a damn super loop. The pain will never end

Boss RMC is never going to happen, in 2018 they spent money removing the helix and I have been told at ACE events by several of SFSL Park presidents over the years that it is very unlikely because it would have to have the first drop made taller like Steel Vengeance and that is too expensive for SFSL.
(idk, that's what they told me. )
I doubt they would ever spend $20M+ on SFSL for one ride anyway even if that wasn't a problem.
We don't get that kinda budget anymore, this isn't 1976.

That will never, ever happen, let alone two big ones like Boss RMC and a giga.
I completely understand the Endeavor, but my expectations get lower every year and I still end up disappointed.
At this point, I'm actually happy about the Endeavor simply because we get almost nothing but low quality flats and this is the best flat we have received in quite a while (excluding Justice League, if you count that)
Everyone thought we were gonna get a used Troika this year, so for the first time in a while SFSL has exceeded my expectations simply because I set my expectations astronomically low.
TL:DR
Boss RMC will probably never happen, happy about Endeavor purely because IMO it's better than most of what we have gotten in the last decade, which has severely lowered my expectations.

The super loop will never die, if Six Flags has anything to say about it. Also, the 4d Free Spin is returning, and the Star Flyer is making a comeback. At least Magic Mountain and Great America look to be getting some mildly decent rides, if only because they're not standard flats.

SF thinks making them 100ft insetad of 70 makes it better. The reason they keep buying them is they are literally the cheapest non kiddie ride they can buy. A standard superloop is about 800K, the 100ft ones around 1M. They still foolishly pretend they are coasters.

Real talk, I'm actually really excited for the Pandemonium Frisbee at SFOG! It's my home park, and i really think it'll be a great fit! My guess is it's what's taking over Splashwater Falls. I'll be there this Saturday, and will check if there's anything noticeable in the area yet.
They're getting rid of Splashwater Falls? When I was a kid, the area in the "valley" between the Pac Man Play fort and Carousel (location of Splashwater Falls) had places for roller racers. You can see the original walking area beyond the fence up from Splashwater Falls that leads toward the carousel. I don't know how old you are, but do you remember the Drunken' Barrels or MoMo the Monster? How about Z-Force, or Tales of the Okefenokee?
There's not been an official announcement from them or anything about SWF. However, it has not been open all season on any of the 12 days i've been to the park so far. Also, SFOG officially cancelled the copyright for the title "Splashwater Falls" around the same time people started discovering the copyrights for their new coasters Maxx Force and West Coast Racers. Again, nothing official, but it's really leaning towards the ride being gone for good. Also I'm only about 32, and didn't really attend theme parks much when i was younger so I never rode those rides, though i have read about them.

Wow! I LOVED this announcement! This is so exciting! I"m SUPER excited for West Coast Racers, Supergirl, Pandemonium and the new Screampunk area, The Joker Wildcard, and Sky Screamer! 2019 looks to be an amazing year for Six Flags! I definitely think it will be a lot better than Cedar Fair 2019.
I’m so done with six flags like seriously the last coaster St. Louis got was in 2014 and it was a USED boomerang we are one of the first parks stop giving other parks rides when they got a good one last year!
Georgia isn't known for getting the best either, and it is the second park in the chain.

I’m excited for SFMM and SFDK since California is getting 2 new rollercoasters! I was thinking SFDK should get a free spin for awhile now since the height limit isn’t very high and those rides are the perfect size for that park. It’s going to be a good year for California.

I would hope Frontier City gets a B&M (hyper or invert, whichever) and an RMC to bring the park into a new age. And at least make it as good as Six Flags Over Texas. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they RMC Wildcat. They'd probably rename it "F-5 Tornado Warning", and give it two or three inversions with lots of overbanking turns. As for Silver Bullet, HELL NO! That's a classic, like Shock Wave at SFOT! Don't mess with greatness! Same with Diamondback...
I wouldn't mind seeing a few more coasters added to Frontier City. Hell, going back to B&M, I see them making one based on the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team, and maybe add a Space Jam theme to it. (Cause, you know... Looney Tunes and Six Flags...)

Six Flags St. Louis is my home park and it is horrible the same old coasters from my high school days and I'm over 40. Everyone in STL goes to Holiday World, Kings Island or Kentucky Kingdom. Please look into your STL park PLEASE

they really used the SAME clip of daredevil in sfdk for six flags over texas AND la ronde. sfdk got the same batman ride as fiesta texas. they even have the same theming. that’s how you know they’re lazy and cloning.

I hate my home park. No matter how much I try to justify defending it... since Goliath (which was okay... IMO merely ok, but it gave me hope at the time that maybe they’d actually pump some money into the park)... they’ve given us a recycled SLC, put in a skyflyer, and now they’re putting in another glorified carnival ride. Ugh. At least I can drive to NE or CW to get my fix if I reeeealy want to.

yes, why not let GCI retrack it instead of taking out 1/3 of the layout and sticking crrappy cramped RMC trains on it with no side padding? They did to the roar east they didn't convert and it's pretty smooth, more so than El Toro is at the moment.

RMC Boss is not happening likely ever b/c it's still actually good and not unbearably rough. RMC Roar and LeMonstre actually really need it b/c they are very rough but seem unlikely b/c they are at parks which don't get that level of investment.

Collin Moore Demographics plays a large part because of the other surrounding parks, like Universal, Knotts, and MOSTLY, Disneyland.

@@iamaloser666 yes it is. I used to ride the old frisbee ride that was across from Batman and Robin: The Chiller when I reached the 54 inch height requirement. I was sad about its removal, but wasn't sad about The Chiller removed. I see this as a renaissance of a great flat ride of the past.

it's definitely a good installment. The "abandoned area" really made the park seem dumpy for quite a while. After Cyborg having this over there will spice up the one big gap still in that zone, and it will beable to be seen from a good distance given how big it is too. However, I do think 2020 is definitely time for a new roller coaster, and I'd absolutely take something dueling like west coast racers after we lost chiller, just a bit faster (make it 70 just to match up). Shame six flags doesn't work with GCI anymore, the area where rolling thunder used to be would be perfect for that. but maybe the lack of rmc at all this year (no skywarps thankfully, no raptor clones or even a conversion oddly but ok not good for big parks, rails for a free spin is it) indicates they might be ready to put in different things.
They can't build anything at rolling thunder because that's where the queue line is for Zuminjaro. Unless that is they were very careful about how they squeezed something in.
I have a quick little shot of EL TORO from my GoPro. that ride will always be my favorite. It's like going to the chiropractor.
Am I the only one that had a good laugh La Ronde is finally getting the quintessential Six Flags ride? Also glad Apocalypse is getting the floorless conversion. Immediately goes in the top 3 in that park.
I tell you. Id rather risk my braincells on the mind Eraser than ride that stand-up. The layout is fine. The stats are fine. But those stand-up trains are so awful.
Thinking this is gonna be much better.
