  • I this video i trace a interior power supply problem to the #31 room fuse in the under hood panel. I replaced the fuse with a new fuse. I attribute my successes to god and give him the glory.

Many thanks, Jason and your good lady.I had a problem where the water vents in the bottom of the door blocked up > the door was filled with water ! Unknowingly I turned the stereo on and something went pop = no stereo,no power to the stereo, few days later, key fob would not lock/open the doors, door open light stayed on,no LCD display for the clock or heater temp/speeds. I looked at the fuses under the glove box and nothing was blown. Found your video, and checked the 15A blue fuse and it was blown, and replaced. Everything now working except the stereo, fair to say it's blown via a short caused by the water-logged speaker. Thanks again Jason for saving me a lot of ball ache.

Are you having an issue with the interior light and radio not working. The issue we had was the connection at the room fuse and we had all those problems at the same time. Someone else had an issue with the wire for that fuse coming out of the bottom of the fuse box being broken.

Not sure if this is going anywhere, but I’m having the same issue. Dome light works, radio works, but the door ajar light is on 24/7. Do you maybe know how I can fix this issue?

Hey, thank you for this great video. I just bought a 07 Mazda 3 Hatchback and the car has the exact same issues. The door ajar light remains on, doom light and radio don't work so I did get the new fuse from Auto Parts and got that fuse for #31 replaced but it did not fix my problem. Can you give me some idea of where I should start looking? Thank you in advance and Happy New Year!

Was the fuse blown the first time you replaced it? And is it blown now? I can give you some direction but I’m not going to be able to fix it from here. I don’t have a wiring diagram for the vehicle fuse box so your going to need to get a diagram of the power distribution to see where the wiring goes to find where it’s broken. If the fuse is blown you have a short where the wire has worn or some how found it’s way to ground. I’ve seen that online so it is probably a common area. If the fuse is not blown you may have a broken wire. I would use a test light and check for power at the terminals on the back of the fuse. Check it with the key on so you load the circuit. If there is power then your problem is going to be from the fuse into the vehicle. If there is not then it’s going to be from the fuse to the battery. Try wiggling the fuse and see if the problem goes away. Mine was a bad connection on the fuse and I found it by wiggling the fuse side to side. I believe the power goes into the vehicle cabin, I think it goes into another fuse box in there but I’m not sure so check the fuses inside the vehicle to see if any are blown in there. I looked online and this is a pretty common problem unfortunately no one posts there results fixing it. If you go to www.eautorepair.net then you can get access to all the service data with wiring diagrams for $20. I don’t know what your skill level is but this should be the same information the garage will have but knowing how to use it is what takes time and experience. It won’t tell you what the problem is but you can get the diagram and follow the path of power to see where it stops

No I checked and the fuse did not blow. Thank you so much for the direction! I will try as you explained and will let you know how it went!

Hey, so thank you for the advice and I was able to find the trouble spot! I tried to take out the fuse box to check underneath and found that a wire was detached from the fuse box. The surface of the wire looked like clean cut lol. Anyway, I now have to connect the wire but the fuse box is so tight with the wire which is almost impossible to flip it to work on. Should I just bring it to some electronic technician? Or do you have any idea how to fully remove the fuse box from vehicle. I really appreciate your kind help and God bless you!

I haven’t had the fuse box out, but from what I have seen I believe the engine harness plugs into the top, there’s a larger power wire near the engine harness plug which you probably want to remove the positive terminal on the battery before you disconnect that one. What I’m not that sure on is underneath the box there should be plugs where the harness connects into it. I tried to find something on google and RUclips for how to get it out but I couldn’t find anything on it. I looked on eBay for part pictures of the box but none had a very clear shot of the bottom. I think the big power wire is going to be what’s primarily holding it down if I remember correctly the power wire comes through the battery box at the bottom front corner and there isn’t much slack. The battery box front slides up to get the wire out if you need to get it out, but I think if you just unbolt the big power wire is should give you more room to get to the bottom. May god bless you as well. Thank you. That car is my daughters I’ll try and look at it tomorrow if she’s home when I get there.

Thank you again for your comment. I looked it up with the engine off first. I did remove the big harness that is located at the center of fuse box that is connected to the engine before I tried to take the fuse box out. There was only one bolt holding which was closer to the driver side and other than that there were clips(?) around the box that held the whole upper fuse box from the bottom. When I unclipped all of them, it took me some time to actually pull the box out but the top part of the fuse box got loose. And as soon as I pulled it off, big chunk of wires seemed to hold the box tight. I could see anything holding the fuse box underneath but the chunk of wires that are connected to each fuse. But I don't know if the wires are also attached to the bottom part of the fuse box and make hard to take the upper fuse box out or the length of the wires are not just long enough to move around. I will also try look into it deeper tomorrow.

I changed the 15A fuse of the dome light but still have the same trouble. My radio doesn't turn on, the dome light still off and my trip A of the odometer reset to zero all the time I start my car. And I have an open door light on a dash

I was talking to someone about this and his problem was the wire coming out of the fuse box going to that fuse was broken underneath the fuse box.

Okay, that s a great video but I have a different problem. Please help me.
    I have a Mazda 3 2005.
dashboard illumination, tail lights, parking lights, ac heater cooler panel lights are not working. But sometimes they are working. They are randomly working. All of fuses are good but I cant fix it.
    Whats your advice. Thank you.

I’ve had a person tell me the wire coming out of the fuse box for that fuse was corroded and broken under the fuse box where it was rubbing on something. I would look there first if you don’t have any blown fuses. Aside from that I’m not gonna be able to help much.

Did you get that fixed? Were you checking the fuses under the hood or under the passenger side dash?
