Glad to see this here. I bought the LP when it came out, I think in '62. Discovered that it has never been put to CD, so I had my son in law digitize it.
Brahms, Schubert or Humpty Dumpty, this is simply beautiful. I've been looking for a CD of the album it was on, "San Francisco Scene", ever since retiring my record player.
Disappointing??? Whew standards must be mighty high around here. I remember when this LP first dropped. I loved it then and I love it now. I think it is simply beautiful.. a wonderful homage to the masters
I have looked for the CD of this album San Francisco Scene. I had the album years ago. I can only find it on vinyl now. Too bad, really. I will just have to buy the LP again. Check out My New Mambo from the same album.. great.
Disappointing output from a great pianist.Weak attempt at Brahms at first and nothing interesting thereafter, not even particularly well harmonised I think.
So I listened to it 8 years later trying to remember it and expecting to disagree with myself but no, still of same opion. Im a highly experienced pianist. I play the Brahms Intermezzo and the Title tune. I know them very very well. Twit? Aww come on.
Sometimes there is brilliance in simplicity. I love it!
I adore this interprtation with the little Bach pastiche, thanks great George S

素晴らしい!
Just love this rendition and would like to have it on a CD . . . .where can I buy it? Amazon????
not Brahms, Schubert...
Brahms B flat minor Intermezzo
You must be listening to something else. This is Brahms Piano Intermezzo Op 117 Bb minor. What was the Schubert you have in mind?
How did you get thumbs up for making a dumb error? At least four more dumbos out there.

Fortunately your opinion is neither of importance nor value. You are, of course, entitled both to hold and express it.
winelighter, you're a Twit
Although I admire Shearing a great deal, sadly I think Winelighter has a point.
