Eeeeh, I dunno if my opinion is as positive as yours. I try not to buy into easy hype in general, and honestly what I've seen so far hasn't been as great as I'd like. First off, it appears like they've gotten rid of the moon style system, which imo was one of the best additions Actress Again brought to the series. Second, perhaps this is just because I'm a bit autistic, but all the flashing lights on each hit are really annoying and unpleasant to me. One of my friends also pointed out the freeze on launcher hit which feels necessary and kinda makes the flow of combat a bit wonky. Also, from what I've heard, like half the cast will be gone. And starts pressure 3:26 frame trap? It gave her the skill bonus Holy shit that was a lot, but that just means we're getting very good gameplay that is showing is the depth of the game, or I'm just overlooking some basic stuff but that's because it's gameplay from a game series that I have only little knowledge about, but I'm having fun analysing all of this stuff. Game seems fun, graphics seems beautiful, gameplay seems simple but has a lot of depth into it (that's very good) and fun and the soundtrack sounds awesome. I'm excited for this game
Uh...that's positively tame compared to what previous iterations of Akiha could do. C-Sei in CC was absolutely nuts, and F-Akiha had freaking touch of death potential vs anyone without a DP/teleport dash back in AA.
The BGM on this video kinda reminds me of European Telenovelas or Soap Operas That I see on TV. (No joke. Despite I lived in Indonesia, the local TV channels once airing these shows in early 2000)
Blazblue: Wheel of fate is turning. Rebel 1, Action Undernight: First Clause, Divide Hokuto No Ken: Time of retribution, Battle 1, Decide the Destiny Guilty Gear: Mankind knew that they cannot change society. So, instead of reflecting on themselves, they blamed the beasts. Heaven or Hell, Duel 1, Lets Rock! BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle: Can't escape from crossing fate, Fight Grandblue Fantasy Versus: Bbelieve in Victory, Battle 1, Engage! MELTY BLOOD: TYPE LUMINA: Open your Magic Circuit, Fight Street Fighter: Round 1, Fight The King of Fighters: Round 1, Ready, Go!
So this is the first time I actually noticed this, it seems when you successfully Shield, you seem to get a little bit of life back. Was this a thing in the previous Melty's? (Rarely played older ones, just watched ALOT of matches from GameACHO, lol)
I didn't get to play much of the older titles, but here it looks like it gives you Max HP back, and you still need to Heat to actually regain that life.
As mentionned above, here it seems to increase your "grey" life (previously known as red life in the older games), which is the restorable health via Heat or character specific life draining moves. Iirc I've seen Akiha's regular throw restores some of her grey life in the previous video. In the older Meltys shield gave you meter, not red life.
The more I see this the more I love Akiha. She's literally the definition of a good strong female character. Strong will, loyal, intelligent, yet still retain her feminine traits: elegant in both her apearance and her manners (her mannerism in pretty much everything she does just knock it out of the park for me) has a soft caring side and if you dig deeper you'll see her fragile side like any other girl. This nailed Akiha as The best girl in Tsukihime for me.
I'm seriously considering picking up this game day 1. It looks fantastic and just as fun to play as gbfvs. Hoping they also expand the roster over time like they did with gbfvs as well because it looks to be a very fun game with tons of potential for good competitive play.
Goddamn this gameplay is hype! Gotta double-up and get this on PS4 & Deluxe on PC. Wanna support Type Moon & Frebch Bread for how amazingly they're handling this fighting game.
Those players are actually insanely good and make the game look incredibly fun, props to French Bread/TM. Can't believe I'll get my ass kicked as Shiki/Hisui in just a little over 2 weeks.
It is basically shadow nerfed by the new shield counters thou. In old melty you could use it for zoning in mid/long range and if the enemy ran into it (even if with block), yay, or if they ran into it with a shield, you were still not in any danger so you still had initiative to set up your next move. Since shield now has that teleport behind the opponent follow-up and the diagonal long ranged dash follow-up, if your ring gets shielded you won't be able to move carelessly anymore. Also shielding it now feeds the enemy moon gauge. (I was an F. S. Akiha main in the old game which is what this new Akiha got most of her moveset from.)
@Snake Eraser yeah its a shame the remake sucks, i know the original melty is set after a non existing route so i can just pretend the remake doesnt exist while playing the new melty
I'd love to play it if it weren't for literally every attack having a flashy particle effect that covers half the screen. Sometimes you just want to see normal punches and kicks you know.
Am I the only one hoping for the old "door slam" sound effects back? I want to play Arcueid but her airgrab isn't as satisfying without that juicy slam...
Feels like shield really puts akiha at a disadvantage, unless you can't shield immediately on wakeup. Otherwise what's to stop someone from simply jumping and shielding the ring and following up? Not like akiha can do anything while they are blocking with shield. Though i havent played mbaacc so if there is an option please tell me
@@worldjem but if they are shielding the ring you can't throw them right? So if they shield it in neutral the only thing she can do is wait for follow up, which is fine, but if they shield on wakeup then they basically get a free card out of oki? Unless multihit prevents them from follow up giving you time to mix high low, but does multihit prevent the follow up til its done?
@@garethcf1016 If it's anything like F-Seifuku in MBAA, most of the ring setups don't meaty so they let you throw BEFORE the projectile actually hits depending on setup. Also Shield is always a gamble since opponent can Shield to counter your shield follow-up, but you can choose to not follow-up to bait that option. It's defo mostly there to avoid getting the egregious oki/blender situations that exised in previous iteration, just so that the one side that does oki can't just run one high/low/left/right mixups mindlessly
@@MokoES looking at the games, its kinda wierd that akiha never did it then, considering how often Arc has been jump shielding her rings, they may have removed it though hopefully not, it would suck if the only thing you could do when the opponent is shielding an attack is wait for a follow up
So Arcueid is a rushdown character of sort? Doesn't have any projectile moves and pretty much focus on close range. Make me wonder on what kind of archetype for the other characters are despite playing with the typical ones ?
melty characters arent traditional archetypes everyone is just kinda "pseudo-[Insert archetype here]" like the "grappler" isnt really your typical heavy grappler its still a fast character even though they focus on graps but not for typical "grab = damage" but instead "grab = mix/okizeme"
Unless they randomly do one in these gameplay matches, they probably don't won't to spoil them. wait until the game releases in 16 days and 20 different channels release an "ALL LAST ARCS MELTY BLOOD TYPE LUMINA SHOWCASE" video
game will probably have a good tutorial because uni's one was really good as well. Don't wish you were good, start playing to get better it's a super fulfilling experience

2:13 that disc really worked well like a protector (I didn't wanted to say shield because that's the other thing) so she could've taken her turn there.
2:15 what a confirm
2:21 and she gets disc oki out of that too? That's nice
2:25 screw your mixup, I'm shielding and punishing (why didn't she went for air throw to end it?)
2:30 what a move, skill bonus, fatal counter *and* anti-airs form mid-screen away into full combo. Those moves looked like EXs but none of them used meter, guess that's the skill bonus thing then.
2:45 air throw give fatal counter and good oki as an anti-air (at least for Arcueid)
2:51 what a combo of a punish of shield, used disc mid combo, went for a rejump, ended with ex disc. It looked like she could still follow it up, but maybe she couldn't and went for disc oki.
2:59 shield looks like one hell of an option, wonder what will be good counters for it that isn't just giving up your turn waiting for it.
3:05 OTG setups?
3:09 I liked the jump back disc after the blockstring ender, leaves a good hit box that leads into big mixups while backing away making it difficult to punish, unless the shield lol.
3:11 anti-air bait?
3:19 moon drive to start pressure but gives them enough time to react and shield, maybe you do that anyway as a bait and punish the whiffed shield.
3:22 That's a reversal?
3:23 using moon drive as a pause button to give her time to react and anti air. And starts pressure
3:26 frame trap? It gave her the skill bonus
Holy shit that was a lot, but that just means we're getting very good gameplay that is showing is the depth of the game, or I'm just overlooking some basic stuff but that's because it's gameplay from a game series that I have only little knowledge about, but I'm having fun analysing all of this stuff.
Game seems fun, graphics seems beautiful, gameplay seems simple but has a lot of depth into it (that's very good) and fun and the soundtrack sounds awesome. I'm excited for this game
Bruh that Akiha combo at 2:52 was INSANE
It was decent, but wasn't all that chillax.
@@rainofkhandaq6678 Okay?
Uh...that's positively tame compared to what previous iterations of Akiha could do. C-Sei in CC was absolutely nuts, and F-Akiha had freaking touch of death potential vs anyone without a DP/teleport dash back in AA.
@Savashri I mean... I see your point but it's not always necessary, I mean just let the person be excited about something...
@@fennel1853 Okay what, the combo was mid is all i'm saying.
Sure as hell wasn't "INSANE".
I've never played a game from the Melty Blood series. But from what I've seen so far, I'm really looking forward to playing it for the first time.
Yall hearing this music? Such a vibe!
The song somehow reminds me of Foreign soap operas or Telenovelas.
NGL The song is still good.
Nowhere near as good as OG meltys
Akiha still has them spicy combos.
Ugh, this music is *so* good.
I agree, never heard of this game but saw the story on a site and watched the vid, great tune
The music in this game is spot on!
The BGM on this video kinda reminds me of European Telenovelas or Soap Operas That I see on TV. (No joke. Despite I lived in Indonesia, the local TV channels once airing these shows in early 2000)
Oh man, I'm so gonna used my lunchbreak to play this game just like old time with melty
Might be one of the only ones here, but I hope one video just drops a raito track so I can have it on loop until the game comes out.
Bro these guys playing like they're a year deep
I love this game so much
16 days until i can main Arc. My first Melty Blood
exactly the thing I wanted to see before school tomorrow
The song is so fucking good, holy shit
Still thinking about how cool the versus screen is.
I love how clean and uncluttered it is! Very sharp!
They both look good. I can't wait for this.

Akiha is the one, so looks really fun. Everyone does but she is the one I got my eye on. Unless these next two characters are really sick👀
just realized Tohno's voice actress is the same as Mythra's
Yoooo Xenoblade in my Melty Blood? Let's goooo!
Tohno's her lastname
The excitement can't be described with words!
1:41 damn that was sick
Yeah I needed me some more Akiha. Thanks Type Moon!.
This song kinda bangs frfr
I'm so happy for this game! Can't wait to play it! ^-^
Lmao 2:45 round start air grab what a god
the beauty of free movement before round start lmao
凄い!
You can't (at least in Actress Again)
Nope.
Only way to get hp back was with the heat mechanic and Vermilion Akiha's grab
As mentionned above, here it seems to increase your "grey" life (previously known as red life in the older games), which is the restorable health via Heat or character specific life draining moves. Iirc I've seen Akiha's regular throw restores some of her grey life in the previous video.
In the older Meltys shield gave you meter, not red life.
hell yeah more gameplay
The more I see this the more I love Akiha. She's literally the definition of a good strong female character. Strong will, loyal, intelligent, yet still retain her feminine traits: elegant in both her apearance and her manners (her mannerism in pretty much everything she does just knock it out of the park for me) has a soft caring side and if you dig deeper you'll see her fragile side like any other girl. This nailed Akiha as The best girl in Tsukihime for me.
They should settle this in a volleyball match.
GAL UNDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3:02 ark wade sounding like hugo
@ 2:13 Akiha is walking backwards like Kolin from SFV.
I might have to play Akiha now...
Ooooo, look at my girl go. Can't wait man.
I'm seriously considering picking up this game day 1. It looks fantastic and just as fun to play as gbfvs. Hoping they also expand the roster over time like they did with gbfvs as well because it looks to be a very fun game with tons of potential for good competitive play.
Looking really, REALLY good.
That's a good birthday present for this game to me. Weeks are coming right now!
The battle of Shiki's lower half pt2
this looks amazing!
Goddamn this gameplay is hype! Gotta double-up and get this on PS4 & Deluxe on PC. Wanna support Type Moon & Frebch Bread for how amazingly they're handling this fighting game.
Buena pelea entre la mejor heroína de Type-Moon y la mejor tsundere de Type-Moon
Those players are actually insanely good and make the game look incredibly fun, props to French Bread/TM. Can't believe I'll get my ass kicked as Shiki/Hisui in just a little over 2 weeks.
BANGER OF A SONG
It took me today to realize Akiha is using blood in so fing dumb
This gameplay restored a large amount of faith with me in this game
Never heard of this game just enjoying the music in this video lol
The music though😳🔥
I really hope Red Arcuied can be a future character :’(
My shoulders are dancing with the music LOL
They really teased us by not showing blood heat, huh? God damn, I WAITED for Arcueid's activation at 4 full bar.
Se ve muy bonito Melty 👍
Music great as always.
Sticking to the visual novel roots with characters speaking more than fighting.
Looks dope though.
A little too much talking for my taste but i still think this game looks great. Looking forward to it.
Finally
More melty blood
Are u jailed with that pinwheel shit never played the one from like 10 years ago but Akiha looks fun asf
Yeah if she throws that big ass pinwheel on your get-up you are forced to play some defense. She does look like fun in this game!
If you get up and that pinwheel is on your character, it jails. Even on block.
@@AmeNGO758 daymmmm cant wait gonna be the best 50$ i spent in a minute
Ive always loved tsukihime so i guess its time for melty
@Snake Eraser yeah its a shame the remake sucks, i know the original melty is set after a non existing route so i can just pretend the remake doesnt exist while playing the new melty
2 Weeks HYPE😁😁😁😂😂😂😂😂
Bro arcueid playing space jam theme xD welcome to the jam lol “dunk”
man i just love how much of a monke arc is
I am definitely maining Arcueid if I ever get this game
wait so arc has no more air sonic?
i dont think I saw it, but it might just be me
rip corner sonic loops
French-Bread just know how to design a great fighting game. Looks amazing.
I wonder if you can block and punish this 0:49
you can
I'd love to play it if it weren't for literally every attack having a flashy particle effect that covers half the screen.
Though i havent played mbaacc so if there is an option please tell me
Throw beats shield.
@@garethcf1016 you can throw them it isnt like blocking there is no throw invul during shield
@@MokoES looking at the games, its kinda wierd that akiha never did it then, considering how often Arc has been jump shielding her rings, they may have removed it though hopefully not, it would suck if the only thing you could do when the opponent is shielding an attack is wait for a follow up
LETS GO ARC
My magic circuit is opening
So Arcueid is a rushdown character of sort? Doesn't have any projectile moves and pretty much focus on close range. Make me wonder on what kind of archetype for the other characters are despite playing with the typical ones ?
Arcueid is definitely more a rushdown than anything. F-Arc on MBAACC is a midrange character.
melty characters arent traditional archetypes everyone is just kinda "pseudo-[Insert archetype here]" like the "grappler" isnt really your typical heavy grappler its still a fast character even though they focus on graps but not for typical "grab = damage" but instead "grab = mix/okizeme"
I can’t wait to play this
Show us the maids please!!!
2nd note mansion stage is lit
I just hope that the netcode is good as MK and GGS.
I wanna play already 🥺
Arcueid coming for the runback?
When are some of the Last Arcs gonna be showed off?
Unless they randomly do one in these gameplay matches, they probably don't won't to spoil them. wait until the game releases in 16 days and 20 different channels release an "ALL LAST ARCS MELTY BLOOD TYPE LUMINA SHOWCASE" video
I wish I was good at fighting games so I can play this.
It’s never too late to start
You can do it! Old Melty was considered a good beginner game anyway iirc
game will probably have a good tutorial because uni's one was really good as well. Don't wish you were good, start playing to get better it's a super fulfilling experience
I'm super trash at fighting games right now, but been practicing and it gets a bit easier every day!
I need the OST asp.
This game looks amazing, I cannot wait for it to release! One thing you may consider is toning down the amount of voice lines during fighting. The characters were talking so much it kind of became a cacophony of voices.
ok but why havent i seen arcuied do the swoosh not once
Can't wait for some Kohaku action. It's been too long.
Just realized this game is only $49.99USD. A cheaper price of entry is always appreciated!
