He'll tuck his tail too so I think he's just scared they'll do something anf ends up doing it first. It's definitely manageable and we go on hikes and stuff to help with enrichment. On days with long or hard hikes he seems a lot more calm and more lenient with others dogs and people and he's super cuddly but has his moments. He definitely resource guards but is also reactive. @JazzfromOz yeah kinda he definitely resource guards which he isn't super bad about but still growls and stuff I've had him since he was 3 weeks and had to bottle feed him so he bases a lot of things around me and if I'm next to him he doesn't normally growl at other dogs and stuff while he eats. I think it us mostly "small dog syndrome" and he is acting tough because he knows he is small and is scared of things. He tucks his ears and whale eyes while he's doing the bad behaviors. Not aggressive really just always expecting something to happen and being on guard a lot of time. I'm hoping he can be less stressed with more excerisize and stuff. He loves running along side my skateboard and can normally ignore other things while we're doing that
Been doing it for over a year with rescue pitbull. No correction works.
I started really focusing on my pitbull’s reactivity over the past few weeks, and I’ve found the importance of being 100% invested. Like every walk, several times a day, our focus has to be dedicated to their training. I also got a clicker and it has done WONDERS! Good luck to you… we can do this!
Your correction must be strong enough to illicit a true punishment response. Most likely you are negatively reinforcing your dog with weak corrections
@@t0l4nd True I haven't found what 'punishment" works because people don't mind their business. I've been accused of abuse for pulling him out of the street by leash.
@@jerimiah_y if you want a very detailed breakdown of this watch “Hamilton Dog Training - Loose Leash Walking” he breaks down the punishment response with graphs and examples so you can understand better
@@jerimiah_y For a more detailed explanation of this I recommend Hamilton Dog Training’s video on Loose Leash Walking - he goes into extreme detail breaking down the science with graphs and video examples.
My puppy does this to my 8 year old! She will not let her by without barking, lunging, and nipping at her. She’s trying to play i think.
My dog is a tiny yorkie. This doesn't fly.
I have a Yorkie too and I rescued her from the street. I’m really struggling with her reactivity to other dogs and strangers .
What treats work best for training?
Any treat low in calories and protein so you can use a lot without it effecting their health. Either that or break up normal treats in to super small pieces. If ur dog likes them it's the best treat. Just look for small ones with low amounts of calories
Any that ur dog likes. My dog loves ham so I use ham sometimes he listens to
@@kittykingdomsthank you! my boy is a meat lover so i’ll try and find something with meat 😖
@@hotwheelsfoo ofc! Don’t listen to these “low fat treats” ppl🤣 use anything ur dog is interested in. My dog loves ham or his ball!
@@kittykingdomsthank you 😭🤣
Can you actually show how you train him instead of just showing us the end results in the videos? This was all talk and not helpful at all
My dog dont care about them damn treats 😭😭
So I’m supposed to match my dogs energy with getting his attention.. but you gave no examples. On to another video.
Prong and e-collars are banned in the country I live in. I am sure this is a fast track way of training as the good to bad feedback is so severe. I'll keep looking elsewhere
That dog is not reactive he just wants to engage and stimulate play. Natural dog behaviour.

punish ? Man I'll never watch another video by you
You were just talking and talking without giving us any teaching example
Not sure why anyone would walk dogs off leash.. just because your dog is trained doesn’t mean others are.
Not sure how a leash or no leash solves other dogs’ aggression.
@@zenofthemoment because if an unleashed friendly dog walks up to an aggressive dog who is leashed, it could easily lead to the death of one or both dogs.
I tell people forget off leash
You do not needed an E Collar on that dog. Very poor advice
Why not
sryy but my dog is my best friend i can go up the wall everytime i hear the word punish, plz never ever punish ur dog for doing something wrong, i allways say to my clients, do not punish your dog, as he or she will lose his her trust in you, if ur dog does something wrong then correct him, by doing the same thing over and over again, as soon as he she gets it right the first time, stop and overload her/ him with a well meant pat, and praise stop exercising, wait bout 10 min and do it again, like i have said over and over again, practice makes Champions !!!
What’s your difference between punishment and a correction then?
Punishment is usually doing something bad to your dog when your dog does something bad but correction is when you reward your dog for doing something good
@@nixoncushing2647you don't correct your dog for doing something good, that doesn't make sense. Even leash pressure is "punishment." It is like a penalty in a game, it has to be done. 100% positive reinforcement doesn't exist.
Worst vid ever
This is terrible. No actual examples, prong collars... yikes.
