    The solution to almost all of the behaviour problems tends to be the slip leash that Caesar uses. Don't use a standard collar, a chain collar, a prong collar, and definitely never use a harness because it gives the dog something to pull against. In every instance, Caesar always uses his leash and keeps it up high near the ears and keeps the dog's ears and not around the throat. That, as well as calm body language seems to solve pretty much every problem. He's helped me with so much!

    • @hellabella8295
      @hellabella8295 5 месяцев назад +4

      It doesn’t solve separation anxiety food aggression etc.. but yes, walking dogs it does help.. I have shown dogs for over 50 years and always used what we call choker leads.. they don’t choke of course.. 😂 It’s the only way I walk my dogs.. even though I have had dogs all of my life I adopted Cesar’s ways and just love it.. and my dogs are prefect.. and I don’t have to say a word..

      @CCOREY5 5 месяцев назад +6

      This is entertainment. He’s not telling the whole story, at least not in this clip. For example switching to a slip lead and never mentioning it…it works because the tightening slip will cut of oxygen supply to dogs brain. Most aversive tool there is …more aversive than a prong collar. They are a practical and a good tool, but you have to know how to use it. It’s not only about walking confidently as the owner…that’s too simplistic.

    • @El_Ophelia
      @El_Ophelia 5 месяцев назад +2

      @@CCOREY5 He does not use the slip lead to choke the dog, however. If the collar, any collar, is down around the throat, most dogs will pull against it, to their own detriment.

    • @CCOREY5
      @CCOREY5 5 месяцев назад +3

      @@El_Ophelia he may not always pull to choke, but even just slight pressure will slow oxygen to the brain, via constriction of carotid arteries…which makes a dog instantly calmer. It’s a neurological protection loop all of our brains have…less oxygen, less movement and slower brain, less reactivity. Even if the dog creates the choke by pulling. The dog will self correct. But that’s the mechanism behind it few people talk about. I’m not dissing slip leads, but, again, you have to know how they work.

    I’ve watched Cesar Milan for decades. Before I had my own dog my brother had twins, and he and his wife never understood how I could get two screaming infants to be quiet without saying a word. I don’t know how either, all I know is that whenever I was with them I had the mantra running through my head “calm assertive energy”. It worked like a charm!

It only took a few corrections and the bad behavior stopped. Now, we walk, greet other dogs/people without incident. Returning to a regular walking schedule has been good for everyone.

This is so valuable because any dog they get from now on will be trained correctly with calm confidence and that incurs FREEDOM! OBEDIENCE IS FREEDOM! When you can trust your dog to always be calm and obedient, they can come with you almost anywhere. The dog will be invited because he/she is no TROUBLE and nice to be around. I mentioned to my husband that I would have to wash Rag's blanket. Rags ran inside and a couple of minutes later he came rushing out with his blanket in his mouth. He dumped it into the pond and we were amazed that he understood everything we said. He had an amazing personality and loved all people and dogs, but he was the leader of the pack in the most adorable way.

      ❤❤ I agree with you and loved hearing your story. I teach my dogs and cats and one bunny both words and hand signals. After several months my beautiful mini staffy Rosie one day looked at me and wagged her tail and did one bark because I tried to teach her one bark. Staffies are known to be barkers and I wanted people passing by to not have that barking. She was so so happy because she realized in that instance I wanted to communicate with her. It opened a door that brought us together and bonded. She saved my life years later by getting underneath my chest and rocking me as I lay dieing. True story. I told my shepherd Spirit to go get Rosie as I passed out again and remember looking down at my body. She was crying and barking desperate ly trying to bring me back. All animals want to communicate with us stupid humans. They take awhile to get those of us who do because they don't believe we will. I found a woman on tictoc that taught her dog Bunny to talk with talking buttons on the floor. Honestly my Rosie bonded with me that day she realized one bark . Thanks for saying that. But Cesar I'm sure realizes this bond with some of his dogs and may not have thought to show them maybe because he's focused on teaching the dumb humans how to be pack leaders❤❤❤❤

    I believe the only way to stop this problem is to implement a pet licence that is not just a piece of paper to charge owners more taxes, but actually forces them to learn how to properly care for and train their pets.

    It's understandable how some dogs get left in a crate because a dog can get anxious in a human environment and everything a person does (with kind intentions) the dog responds with more and more anxiety and only ends up quiet in its crate then gets anxious being there.
    There should be mandated training and licence and insurance just like owning and driving a car.
