His wisdom and energy teach me so much about being a dog owner, leader of the pack, taking responsibility, commanding space, being a better husband, father, human. I think almost every video or show of Ceasar's that I've watched has made me think of raising children. Just before I married, my dad took me aside to tell me I needed to apply all I'd learned about raising animals ... to raising children. He had taught me to give boundaries and discipline to my pets. ...even my Gerbil! lol Dad said animals and children are always happier when they >know< there are boundaries and exactly what are the boundaries. He said there was security in boundaries and in that security, or our providing that security...was love. He believed that >not< providing boundaries and discipline to children or animals was borderline abuse. Not to "toot my own horn" but I've raised 7 children ... who are now raising their own children. Yes, I had the same talk with my children as Dad had with me...and their children have boundaries and discipline, too. One of my daughters recently had a scare where a 10 mth old, >hugeall< dogs weren't bad. 3 weeks later and he's doing fine. Ceasar, thank you for >all< your videos and hard work! I think this basic information is something people >used< to know...but it's been forgotten. Your principles are for life...not just for interacting with our dogs or pets.

@@DeLaxen Sounds like exaggeration ("touch" = "hit & kick")? I agree with J Shep. I was into modern behaviorism (& all positive) before it was popular. Did it for a decade. It's great stuff in its own right. it's how dolphins learn to do 5 somersaults (on command). But, by itself it doesn't work for all people, all dogs, all behaviors. It's not balanced. Instead, it becomes a religion. The principle becomes more important than the outcome.
If there were something so vastly better than Cesar's way, where is everyone? Wouldn't *someone* want to be famous, and wealthy, and lead dog owners to immensely better ways with well-received multi-season tv series, and 2mil subscribers to their you tube channel? You know what I mean? If it's that bad, why hasn't *anyone* cashed in by now? At best there are tv series showing essentially the same results. Hardly a testament for discouraging someone the way you're doing.
To the OP: look up Aesop's Fable about "the dog in the manger." That's often what the anti-Cesar crowd sounds like. Just pushing others down to feel better about themselves. Making things sound worse to make their point (that you should feel discouraged before you even start). It's really sad because the dog world is toxic this way. It thrives in shelters, rescues, etc.

@@DeLaxen says "It is from all the leaked videos from behind the scenes where he has been caught mishandling dogs... He has apologies for it himself as well" Do you have a reference for that? I searched and couldn't find anything, which seems odd when there's "all" the leaked videos. :) All I've ever seem are dogs at a high-level of frustration/intensity who are touched with enough energy/intensity that they can "hear" the message and snap out of it.
There is a modern, politically-correct form of behavior-based training advocates of which routinely overstate these things. As mentioned previously, I was one. It doesn't work for some dogs. The advocates tend to insist that their way works for these dogs, but you rarely see it. It typically takes far more time than the average person has. Or, it just doesn't work at all (I know advocates who run down Cesar, but have dogs at home which they have to keep gated in seperate rooms because they can't control them with the behavioral theory.).

No, he wasn't taking notes & he wasn't "recording" anything - there are multiple cameras filming, plus the dude filming while standing by the stroller. No need for Chris to record anything w/ his own phone. Instead of turning off all alerts before filming began (like a considerate human would), he obviously got a message & opted to not only read it, but he actually replied to it as well (which blew my mind, quite frankly). These two seemed pretty incapable of doing much of anything that required them to apply discipline, training, consistency, authority, etc. And it's not a reach to assume the way they raise their dogs is the same way they raise their child.
