    Hi, karuppu kavuni and maapilai chamba both i make it as breakfast kanji. I dry roast the rice until most of the rice pops and starts showing the white inside part of the rice. After cooling down i grind them into fine raw consistency. This powder can be used to make kanji on stove top. Takes hardly 10 mins to cook using open pan methodOne can make it savory or sweet version depending upon their taste. I normally make it savory version by adding salt, hing, pepper jeera coarsely ground and tossed in a bit of ghee(optional) or i add morunga keerai karuveppilai podi (dried moringa leaves, dried curry leaves, roasted black urad, roasted jeera pepper dhaniya, perungayam salt to taste. Everything made into podi which is yummy to eat with rice mixed with sesame oil). I find it easy and more palatable this way. Sweet version with naatu chakrai and milk is good too. This year i made thiruvadhurai kali (sweet puttu kind of thing) using this powder. Came out really well. I make this podi one every 10 ish days and i just store it in a glass bottle.
    Sorry for the long comment since you are sharing a lot of healthy food stuff i thought i’d share my version of using kavuni and maapilai chamba.

      😊Thank youi . I do not believe in calorie counting and restricted diets christy, they are not sustainable and they will damage our hormonal balance totally. I believe in traditional nutrition and balanced lifestyle.

      Rice sapda kudathunu solrathu romba romba thappu, nammaloda genes la aayirakanakana varushangala palagina oru food item rice. But rice a polish potu keduthutom, apdi polish panina white rice than sapda kudathu. Our traditional rice varieties are way more healthier than wheat or oats.
