I still remember first finding red, back when so much help wasn’t available. Thought I was so good because I could beat the elite 4 over and over. Red was nothing short of a wake up call
Too true, have you actually managed to beat him yet? for me have tried twice and failed miserably both times and I have a Level 90 Feraligator and a level 70 Gyarados
@@charliedontsurf-y1d yeh I did, I think once I realised he was very predictable he’s order of Pokémon never changes so you can pick a good type move for each of his pokemon. Snorlax was a headache though
@@nissy9220 i had a hardy nature pinsir who annhilated red's snorlax lol
Of course u did... @@ffuckem
It's fantastic game design, it's such a leap forward in terms of difficulty and catches us off guard, as stated.
The silence when you first meet Red and then that “EPIC” finale battle theme comes on. You know shit is about to go down.
Hearing the music at 27:08 almost brought me to tears. I was 12 when i passed this game. It brought back a lot of child hood memories.
Life was so much easier then, my dad was alive too. I'm 36 now and have my own kid. I miss you dad.
The weight of this battle. I felt it. It really feels like a battle against your elders that know you better than you know yourself.
Yup.
The abuse of full restore gave it away.
Have you managed to beat him yet ? I've tried twice and failed both times
@@charliedontsurf-y1d , I haven't. I'm actually playing Pokémon Crystal for the very first time on an emulator. I have the cartilages for Gold & Silver but they have save data corruption.
@@charliedontsurf-y1d , Update: I beat Red after several tries. His Snorlax REALLY carries his team by a lot. The team I used were Typhlosion, Slowbro, Nidoking, Jolteon, Lapras, & Skarmory all around Level 56.
Pokemon Gold will forever be my favorite Pokemon game ever.
And trainer Gold the best 😎
I love this game so much that without cheat codes, I legitimately caught all 251 Pokemon.
Crystal is where it is at
Pikachu + The three original starters + Snorlex really maxed out my nostalgia level.
16:54 “you don’t get to become a Pokémon champion without knowing how to spam full restores!” 😂 👌🏻
old pokemon games felt special and inmersive u could feel literally like if u was inside the game. pokemon peeked in that gen and emerald.
Definitely peeked at emerald
You go up mount Silver expecting to find a legendary Pokémon
You find a legendary trainer instead 👑
I just piss my pants the first time i find Red. I was in Level 60 and that 81 Level Pikachu just scare me so much
“You cannot run away from a Pkmn battle”
I remember re battling red and sometimes he wasn’t there. But he had a great team to battle against I would re battle him just to level up my Pokémon to lv100.
Thank you very much for the 56 videos. Congratulations for the final battle😊😊😍🎉🎉
Wait 56 who would congratulate on that?
The ending that nearly Ended an acclaimed franchise.
The Ending with the greatest plot twist.
The ending of a game from the 5th Generation and 90s era of video games.
And the ending that acours before a new Era awakens, one that's louder, Brighter, Extremer, Viral, and so much more Powerful then this one.
4th generation
@@barr4ckObama240 yep. 4th is best generation
Is it just me or does 7 feel like the end?
@@vulcanraven9701absolutely
Absolutely murked him, I love how easy pokemon can be if you know a lot about the game/the attacks/the weaknesses and effectiveness etc
Why do you love how easy it is? Are you a coward?
I remember when I first found Res in Mt. Silver and saw he was exactly like my character and I truly thought it was a doppleganger of myself. I truly had an “EPIC” battle but won pretty easy. He is one of the toughest bosses in all the Pokemon video games.
The most epic battle in GameFreak history and it aint even close.
Shame that the opponents were so underlevelled in Kanto, you didn't get to evolve and use dragonite untill the very end.
Tyranitar too! Especially him, besides Red, who was just there at the same place, there was nothing left of the game...
Me and my brother clearly remember that we fought against Red and he had Pokémon with higher level than 100.
It was Pokémon Gold on a normal game boy.
We never cheated or modified ANYTHING, we both clearly remember the level of his Pokémons cause it was something epic.
I’ve searched for someone else but no one fought him with these levels? Can someone explain?
I’m genuinely searching for an answer and I repeat, we didn’t modify anything at all, we had 11 and 9 years at that time.
Thanks to anyone for the help.
Honestly it could have been a glitch in the game
That only occured when playing on gameboy instead of color or advance. May have assumed an older audience would be playing on that console with more skill
Red: *keeps on using full restores on his Pikachu*
Me who one shot it all the time: Can't relate
When that red's theme is starting, u know that it's going down!!!
I remember first time I found red by myself and I realize who he was! I felt I was in front of the final boss! Damn I never felt so epic and good. I remember thinking “oh boy… shits getting real now!”. Good memories
I remember when I was a kid and this happened. I Shit myself when level 81 pikachu came out ( my top was a 62 Typhlosion )
Congratulations on Completing The Classic Pokemon Gold Version FCPlaythroughs Up Next is The Sequel of Pokemon Black 2 Version Featuring Black Kyurem on Your Playlist Naming The Female Protagonist Rosa as She Starts Her Journey in Unova 🖤⚡❄️
Such a satisfying game
Can't wait for the long play congratulations on beating red 😁
I remember thinking this game was the greatest thing since sliced bread. (After blue and red)
Best way to fight that Snorlax is x accuracy and dynamic punch otherwise it’s a freaking menace
I used a heracross by level 50 and something. Using reversal and counter. It was emotional, man hahahah
I just use my lvl 100 mewtwo with psychic. l2p
@@victorhugoferreira5212 I’m surprised heracross could tank a body slam from snorlax at only level 50
@@mikemckenzie3175 I do not remember exactly, but I used the item that improves the pkmn's probability to resist at 1 hp. I used counter after a snorlax's strike that almost made Hera faint, and then counter almost made snorlax faint too. After that I used reversal. super effective. It was like watching a Flamengo's goal !!
I think I had a level 52 Haunter and used curse on that beast. Curse was such a good move for Pokémon who would overpower you
Having Red and Lance share the same battle theme is logical, as both are Indigo Plateau Champions from different timelines. Red was Indigo League Champion only in the Kanto Games. Speaking about that, the Kanto games were the only time Blue had a signature Pokémon which was his starter. Lance ascended to his Champion status following Red's victory over Blue in the Kanto games. Three years later, Blue assumed the role of Viridian City Gym Leader, while Red retreated to Mt. Silver to train, awaiting a worthy challenger to emerge. It was epic fighting Red in the Johto games because you are taking on a retired Indigo League Champion and you are trying to get out of the previous protagonist's shadow.
The Gym Leaders of Johto were the quizzes.
Elite Four were the Tests
Then there were the Gym Leaders of Kanto, they were the surprise quizzes.
The Rival was the Real Final Test.
Red was basically the real world against you o_o
Psychic Sound Effect❤
Can I use your red battle gameplay for a metal cover of the trainer battle music? I'll link to your channel in description
Sure.
Absolute Cinema.
How’d you get larvitar with one ultra ball? It used all mine the first time I tried (4of them). But luckily I’d saved shortly before encountering it. So I turned my game on and back off. The second time I think I tried one great ball and two ultra balls (the second ultra ball got it).
Hey FCPlaythroughs, when are you going to be doing making a brand new walkthroughs of Pokemon Diamond, and Pokemon B2/W2? 🤩🤩🤩
No plans for Diamond right now, B2W2 will basically be whenever I'm both in the mood to play it and have the time to dedicate to it, I can't give a more definitive answer right now sadly.
@@FCPlaythroughs That's good. I'm looking forward to this. 🤩🤩🤩
@@matthewfitts I'm Voting on Pokemon Black 2 Version
@@scottbowenkelly575 That's I would like to prefer. 🤩🤩🤩
0:50 why does Silver get the Champion theme?
Eu era tão noob na época, mas, isso me fez forte, rodei feito besta por tempos no emulador, treinando os pokémons loucamente, até que, quando encontrei o Red, ele se lascou, foi peia de primeira.
ps: nem um Dragonigth eu tinha
Idk what everybody says or if there is actually a trainer stronger than Red: the vibe of a Trainer that have been from the beginning, has the three original starters and have this epic song would win my respect than any modern character
❤the music is lit
That Pikachu💪 it tanked 3 earthquakes
Goosebumps.
Very well played
Have no idea how your Pokemon were dealing so much damage being so lower level but man it makes this battle seem so much less fun lol
The matchups that’s why. He used the right Pokémon
@15:49
The walk up is crazy.
And to do this in real time pre-internet so u didnt kno he was in the game
Wow
🤯
Amazing video!
I thought he only came out on Crystal?
Congratulations for the final battle against Red but… next Pokémon Playthrough is probably Black 2 or White 2? 🎉😍🙏
Or even Legends Arceus…? Hell if I know 😊
Pokemon Black 2 Version is My Favorite 🖤⚡❄️
Pokémon White Power
Starting off next... Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald? 😄
Quagsire taking out Magneton in one move was pretty cool
Nice Video :D
Congratulations for completing everything
A level 81 Pikachu??????? And fuck that Pokémon trainer using full restore every single time lmao
Doesn't Gary do the same thing though?
Yeah this is the normal mount silver story, the real one! The other one creepypasta is just a myth!
Impressive with over 15 levels lower.
I did the same with just a 3-piece team: Typhlosion, Pidgeot and Vaporeon.
after 20ish years, i have finally gotten my hands on an original pokemon silver version collected my old team and beat Red... my nightmares are over... i can finally play the game however i want now!
Typhlosion
Ledian
Shiny Hypno
Magneton
Espeon
and Lugia
Wft solar beam don't dragonite????
Part of me wants to say this battle was way too easy but it was also just different when you were a kid and you didn't have access to the same information you have today
I'm playing a rom hack where bosses are stronger, Ash was lvl 100 everything 😂, his pikachu wiped my team
Great videos! Name of the emulator?
What song at 4:56
This just feels kind of cheap and inauthentic. Back when we were kids we went into the battle with pretty much any Pokémon we had, which made the task of beating Red monumental. This seems like you had all the pokemon and super effective moves lined up and planned. No offense just doesnt feel the same
Wtf? You went into battle with random pokemon without a battle plan? Are you spastic?
But why wouldn’t you use moves that are super effective against your opponent??!
@@corneliusmason6819no he means when we were kids, the whole strategy and hand picking Pokémon wasn’t really as much of a thing. We’d literally just keep working with the same party until we’d get absolutely wrecked and then have to spend hours grinding to level up the new one that we needed
@@williammone8533 idk maybe we grew up different but when I was a kid I went in with a. Strategy and tried to use moves that gave me a type advantage. Just seems like common sense to me to try and do that unless some kids are just super oblivious to type advantages and I can see that
When you were a kid, you were bad at the game. You had fun, sure, but you were objectively not good at the game. That's all there is to it. Cannot be helped that somebody with more experience knows what they're doing and plans ahead.
Is Sornlax was a nightmare
Whats the next playthrough?
Gonna be spending a bit of time on the other playthroughs that are still unfinished.
Hope l'll Get To See You Play Pokemon Black 2 Version Next 🖤⚡❄️
Nobody can body slam like Snorlax.....
Red's pokemon movesets were trash
Sneasel looks so much better like that
Quagmire?
I used to play the crap out of this game I took him down with typhlosion
9:00 🎵
I used to play with knowing opponent's next pokemon but I realized it's more fun without it
For me no need flash on Mt. Silver cave..
What if The Powerpuff Girls had Pokemon Team
Level easy?
I love Quagsire!
His special stats suck though.
@@edwardgaines6561
I agree
Except add powerful attack
Always found it bad, 50s own 80s
Apparently Red didn't say anything back to Ethan he just left like a idiot.
Bro keeps using full restores 💀
レッドさんかっこいい
I nearly shit myself the first time I fought Red. It's such an awesome fight the devs included 🥹
