when Magnus is almost semi-retired Hikaru can be No.1 in future. He could have been world champion as well had he not blundered in candidates 2022 against Ding in last match. Irony is Ding became world champion, it could have been Hikaru.
Chilling, talking and playing moves sometimes from Hikaru- thats experienced Fully concentrated Gukesh- Good , still have scope for improvement , he can chill later
Interesting how Gukesh starts with huge time advantage, but after each game he gets a bit slower, until the last game where he's always lower on time and even lost on time.
Who decides what side the clock goes on when you’re both right handed? Asking for this and for tourny’s. Is there a significant impact having to read across your body or not? Also does muscle memory play a part if it’s predominantly on one side etc?
Black gets to choose the side. It's generally not a huge deal, since about 50% of your games will be played with the clock on the "off" side you get used to both.
