Can I Fix It? - $2 Yard Sale Find - Pioneer P42 Chainsaw - Развлечения
4.2 HP, not 42, some mistakes are so obvious they should be common sense. Lol. Thanks for watching and happy Father's Day
If it really was 42, it would definitely be a keeper.
i knew what ya meant thx for the video mike have a great night
Are you sure that's not 4.2 cylinders? Lol
We know what you meant Mike, still a heck of a saw.🤙
sell it, you dont need it since you have a new one. Put the money towards the new workbench vise or just other shed stuff, it will only help the channel grow bud!
@@BlueDually4x4 It would also be a hernia.
Happy Father's day to you and all the dads out there.
Happy Father's Day!!
@@CaptainKleeman Happy Father's Mike!
Happy Father's Day to you as well Reddog and everyone else here on the potpourri and chain saws channel. Lol
The way you are beaming, you don't need a flashlight to illuminate your shop.....jus' keep on smiling! Keep the saw
!
You can never have too many chain saws, especially when you have a homestead with as many acres as Mike has!
I say keep it. That saw owes you nothing and you will get a nice warm feeling every time you use it because you fixed it.🙂
KEEP..... in mind the chain break is there for a reason. Try to locate replacement parts!
KEEP..... the chain out of the dirt and rocks!
KEEP..... Having a GREAT Day!
KEEP..... The old saw and REALLY CLEAN it out, it should last a while longer!
Happy Father's Day, Mike!
Saws were made clear into the late 90's without chain breaks. You can get this same model saw without the chain break. Infact fallers preferred saws without the chain break because of weight.
Buckin Billy Ray would be proud.
Keep the saw and fix the chain brake or it will bite you in the A**. Just cut a tree down myself & made a bench for my better half and all done with my battery chainsaw 35cm bar, Oregon chain and bar . Look forward to your smile when you do that video.
'A Happy Wife = A Happy Life'. Take care and stay safe out there.
When you’re dealing with old saws like this you must never forget: The first thing you do is replace the fuel line and filter inside the fuel tank. Remember this and you will go far. Know how I know this? Cause I like chainsaws.
And you gotta keep it. You’ll get that Husky pinched in a tree one day and then you’ll be glad to still have it.
Definitely a keeper. Great saw to have around when that friend asks if they can barrow a chainsaw.
I would keep the wood chipper also it would make nice mulch for your chickens, goats and your wife's flower beds hope you had a nice Father's Day
Happy Father's Day=Keep It!! John here, from the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee.
It’s cheap enough and you now know how to work on it. If your other saw abruptly stops on you then you have a backup to finish what you were working on till you get the main saw fixed. Good job.
Happy Father's Day my friend. Hope you have a great day.
and you claim you dont know what you are doing. that shows common sense and patience will accomplish more than everyone thinks it will. great work captain
Very true
Keep as a satisfaction reminder :D also, use that slab of wood you sliced off of the trunk and make it into a barstool seat :D
Hey that's a good idea!
I keep it because with your new property and the property that you have at the homeplace it’s always good to have a decent chainsaw in addition to the ones that you have
Two Bucks??
You stole it !! 👍👍
I'm glad I "saw" this video. Great advice Cap. Find something cheap, learn to fix it, and most importantly, gain a skill and some knowledge. Stay safe my friend.
I see what ya did there! Lol
"Cutting edge" repair, there!
One man's $2.00 is another man's treasure! Another great video. $$$$ SELL
Thanks Robert!
Its always nice to have an extra saw. Or one you use when your cutting things that may have nails or wire in it. That way your not ruining your Big saw chain..Great Find and Video..
Epic win. Make it a trophy put it on your wall to remind you of how successful you are in times of failure.
Hey Mike, It's Daryl, that Chainsaw was only made about 45 minutes away from my house.
Very cool!
Keep it! A great reminder of what's possible when you put your mind to it!
Keep it Mike, for 2 bucks you can't go wrong.
Nice. A heck of a lot of people today have no interest in troubleshooting, nor fixing things. We all do it to an extent. Some things aren't worth the effort, but most are. We live in a throw-away world. Broke? Chuck it in the bin and buy a new one. There is so much good stuff thrown in landfills every day it's sickening. A chainsaw for $2 is a no-brainer. Even if the engine is kaput, you can salvage parts. Thankfully the fix-it-yourself lifestyle is making a comeback, albeit slowly. I say good job, Capt. That saw has a new lease on life.
Many of life’s failures are people who did not realise how close they were to success when they gave up. Thomas Edison. Genius.
YOU FOUND GOLD. KEEP IT FOR $10 YOU ARE WAY AHEAD OF THE CURVE
So much patience! a wonderful trait. Well done. KEEP!
Happy Father's Day!! Buy low sell high.
Keeper spare saw is a must!
Keep it! I love this stuff! One of the best channels on utube! I look forward to seeing your videos every week. You are absolutely right sometimes you just have to get in there and give it a shot! Keep up the great work!
that saw is actually a beast!
and you can never have too many saws keep that thing
Now that's called smart - prudent purchase and mend. Only keep if you need it - OR - keep it as a tale for the future.
Sell it. You have had your fun of working out what was wrong. You don't need to your new shelves cluttered with saws you don't use. Thanks for your videos.
Happy Father's Day to all you wonderful Dads out there.
My vote is to keep it. Maybe bring us along as you learn to port it, fine tune it, or whatever you want to do with it.
😁 I'm treading lightly tonight. Just a little toe tapping music with the sounds of old chainsaws echoing through the trees. 🤣😂🤣
HDD (Happy Daddy's Day) Cap'n Dad 😁
Hey appreciate ya watching Dan!
@@CaptainKleeman thanks bud, I love watching your videos .... "mamma always 'it's' like a box of chocolates ya never know what your going to get"... but you do know they are all going to be sweet and tasty.😁 😉😉😉
though it needs more cowbell !🐄🔔
🤣😂🤣
That $2.00 was well spent, and you claim you aren’t a mechanic. You fixed it in true fashion of a mechanic. Love the channel. Would like to meet you some day. God bless
Happy Father’s Day Mike!
Keep it! Someone will need it and pay big bucks for it once the SHTF!
Built much like an old Homelite XL12 I bought in the late 1980s. I had a piece of leaf trash the size of a ground pepper flake clog a Walbro.
Great job Captain!!. You have to keep that saw, you know everything about it mechanically. Enjoyed the video very much.
Keep it! $2.00, $10.00 invested. Ya got it running. Down the road you can always sell it👍👍
Happy Fathers. Mike!! I vote for keeping the saw!
If you have a need for it, keep it. If it will sit around, sell it and fund other projects. You learned a few things and made great content with this one. Looking forward to the bench project either way.
Mike if I was you KEEP IT 💯 . Thanks for sharing, she's a beaut Mike, another 5 ⭐ video God bless y'all from Gaffney South Carolina viewer
I say keep if you need it. Sell if you want too. Great video.
Looks like you got a bargain this time Mike😎😎👍👍👍🍮🍮
Your doing the best you can with what you have,Atleast your out there showing us your way and know how! Thank you
That 2 dollar fine makes great beer coasters and a serving tray (Be down later)! 😁😁🍺🍺 Wood chipper, nice, Next Video Title, FARGO 2? 🤣🤣
😂😂
That saw looks like a good Father's Day gift. Sometimes you have to treat yourself. Good to see the Ryobi inverter getting use. Cheers Captain!
It works great! Love that thing
It’s a keeper- as long as ya use your chaps when out really using it-take care
👍Keep it Captain. That smile with success looked like a kid in a candy store when told he could have anything he wants.
😂😂
HAPPY Father's day! If it were me I'd keep it it makes a great spare that you've got next to nothing in. Love the content as always.
Thanks Brad!
I think I've said this before but flip a coin,Heads keep it, Tails sell it Thanks Mike for the video✌️ Napa California
There ya go!
YOU got it BUD.
Definitely keep it for now Captain. It wasn’t that long ago that you had to pause what you were working on because you didn’t have a running saw so this one isn’t costing you anything to sit as a spare and run occasionally.
Besides, it’s Canadian Eh!!!
Have a wonderful Father’s Day to you and all the amazing (and maybe not so amazing) Dad’s out there.
Happy Father's Day to you. If you keep it you will want to run it every so often to keep it happy so it will run when you need it. Good video as always
Thanks Chuck!
Bonjour Mike tu et le meilleur rien ne te résiste un bon mécanicien passe bonne journée 🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵🤗😘😃 de papy Gilbert de France bisous bisous
Keep the saw! If nothing else, its cool wall art for $10. Just be sure to add some ethanol treatment with stabilizer (blue, not red) so if it sits, you wont have to do all this over again.
Keep it, it’s always good to have a running back up.
Happy Father’s Day Capt good rebuild 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great video👍Sell it.Those Chickens and goats need a roof and besides, you've gained knowledge and experience. Thanks and have a Fabulous Father's Day!!😁
Keep it Capt , great feeling to take that saw from crap to useable !
Keep , happy fathers day
Keep it-there is more to learn!
Hi Mike
You've got to keep after figuring out the issues and getting it running again.
Enjoyed the process.
Thanks for sharing.
Michael (from Scotland)
Good buy,keep it for a backup.happy Father’s Day to you.do your thing 👍👍👍😎😎😎
Thanks Tom!
Next week on the channel, hot saw competition! Happy Father’s Day to you!
😂😂
Keep it, never know when you'll have a bunch of buddies over for a tree cutting session, and you;ll have plenty of saws ^_^, plus it makes for a good story.
Kleeman Quality! Good enough for me! And oh yeah, Kleeman Productions videos are EXTRA high quality there bud!
Great video Capt! Not bad for $2 dollars, never know when you might need a spare. Definitely keep it.. Unless someone wants to pay like 50 or so then sure. Lol 😂
Keep the chainsaw when all them new computer ones won't start it will. You have a great channel
Thank you!
Fun video Mike,Happy Fathers Day and peace to you and family…
Keep it Mike, You just never know when your favorite saw will crap out on you. Also a suggestion, when taking mixture screws out count the number of turn in toward the carb in 1/2 turn increments until it bottoms out, then when you put it back together set the needle then back it out the same number of turns you counted before. When ever I get a piece of equipment like this the first thing I do is rip out all the old fuel line and replace it with new fuel line it's just cheap insurance against frustration down the road.
Keep it. You just never know when you might needed it and for the price it’s a great investment
Sell it, Captain, sell it!! It's a heavy old saw without the safety technology that anyone frequently cutting wood should have. I remember being so happy when I finally replaced my 1980's Pioneer. That saw is nothing special. It'll suit someone who can't afford to buy a new saw for the small amount of cutting they do. You already have too many saws! Get rid of it!
Love your channel!
You have the deluxe model, automatic oiler. We had a P40 on the farm 40 years ago, manual oiler, what a pain. Later on in the 80's Pioneer bought Partner. My brother had a Pioneer/Partner that liked to "spontaneously combust" quite often. After that we switched to Husqvarna.
Keep smilin
You're naturally gifted and inquisitive and that makes you successful in what you do. Great content 🙂👍🇮🇪
First let me start by saying Happy Father's Day to you and I say keep it how many guys can say they have a Canadian chainsaw and it looked like it works pretty good for two bucks plus some extra so I say keep it.
Mike, you’re a highly talented/skilled/knowledgeable thoroughly decent hard working down to earth man who just doesn’t know it himself. Love your channel, love your work, love your humour . Best wishes from Britain 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
Hey, "YOU" "Happy Father's Day"! Take the day to kick back, actually smell the flowers, let your mind wander to the life you have and the one you would have if you guys did NOT have children as so many don't. THEN - 'reach out and HUG YOUR BUNDLE'! THEY & your wife give you reason to do all you do!!!
Mike
Use sidewalk chalk on your file to help with metal pinning. 😉
Keep it. Run 40 to 1 oil mix, they are a great saw. Adjusting carb, when y pull throttle it should come right up to speed, turn low screw out 1/8 turn till you get it right. Same thing on high jet, BUT, keep rpm down 1000 rpm , as to not burn up saw.
If you need help on it, look up ( iron horse) on you tube, he works on them, and all saws. 🤙
Mike keep it one day you will need it
Satisfaction was the result of your determination to solve the issue of the saw not working. That was followed by your work to get it tuned to its full potential. That’s what I enjoy most about your videos is how you work to solve a problem and bring us along for the journey. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe
Not a shade tree in sight, all done inside on a proper bench !! (well, most of it)
Already found a new home for the mower deck, can see you putting the saw up for sale, and keeping it 😂
You worked through all the problems in the end, and you got it running the way it should according to yourself!!!
Happy Father's day, although every day should be a Father's and Mother's day, they should be celebrated every day!!! 😉
You inspire me to get my 13 chainsaws running.
😂😂 well we all need more things on the to do list
Nice find! Bet it makes a dependable saw for years to come
If you want to fix plastic best way is to weld it. Get some super glue, clean out your crack and fill with super glue. Now sprinkle some bicarb soda on the glue before it dries . results can be filed to shape. Best idea is practice first. Also note this causes a reaction so dont get glue on skin.
Captain you know more about chainsaws then I do. I’ll I do is adjust chain, put gas and oil in and hope she runs 😂 Nice find and Happy Father’s Day!! I sure the little ones are making you smile already 🤗 Have a great week 👍🇺🇸
So satisfying when you can take your bare hands and bring something back to life! As far as keep or sell, that depends on if you have room and if you really need an extra saw.. enjoyed this one also.
Thanks for the video, I now have 3 running chain saws because of you.
That's great!
Happy Father's day Captain Kleeman.
Another great video! Beginning to think there's nothing you can't accomplish! If it were me, I would keep the saw. You never know how long it will be before you find another great deal like that. Happy Father's day!
Thanks!
Sell it and put the money towards one of your other "home" projects like metal roofing for the chicken coop, the exhaust port for the welder/generator etc.
That's a keeper. Happy father's day. Stay safe
Once you start buying vintage saws you’ll be hooked and you’ll start collecting them😂 “I’ll sell it” yeah that’s not going to happen. Good work as always. Those saws respond really well to a muffler mid also
😂
Hello🙋♂️ from the Netherlands🇳🇱 and thanks for the video 📽 Captain 👨🚒 Kleeman .
👍💪😂
Sincerely Hollandduck
💪
One can never have to many saws! Keep up the great work 👍
Thanks
