Running a little short of content Mr. Kleeman?

    • @CaptainKleeman

I think you're confused at what we do here. See, we make videos for us to look back on, memories of projects we are working on or finishing. Memories made by us. Whether you like it or not is a "you" problem. We don't do things "because that would be a good video". There are lots of channels out there like that and maybe they would suit you better. Appreciate you stopping by.

I completely agree….yet I want to add an element:
bringing a bit of the past forward into present and future memories.
We lose so much of our identity through technological advances that the innovations which made life changing impacts are fading away. Seeing his vision play out through the entire process culminating in him being able to sit and watch poetry in a timeless capture was, as said, priceless.

Nice job on that old machine Mike , it’s nice to see you restore the old forgotten equipment we used back in the day, and your rite, it’s fun to do things we used all the time, and the slow paced process is always fun. If people would just slow down, I mean what’s the hurry in life? At least you and your family understand to do some things from the past , that makes it fun. Nice job and family, and great job Mike

I have my grandfathers. As a kid, we would shuck the corn and run it through for all his chickens on the farm. The interesting way we fed the chickens was my grandfather had one of those old seed throwers with the crank and we filled up the bag with corn and would feed the chickens. Interesting thing we found out about using the spreader to feed the chickens is the faster you turned it the harder they flew out and we used to run down through the meadow to the barn and hit the chickens with the corn and they would be jumping up because the corn stung them. I miss those fun days… I’m now 67

Turned out great Mike. My grandfather had an ancient corn shucker sitting by his corn crib that'd he still used to shuck corn for his chickens when I was young. I'd sneak out there and run an ear or two through it, and get caught doing it every time and scolded, lol. But man, couldn't resist because it was so much fun.

Captain, you just notched DP as my new hero! Was sitting here trying to figure out where I know you from? Then it dawned on me, you ARE every old man I used to watch as a kid, fixing everything broken with nothing to work with! Run what you brung! I get the biggest kick out of watching your video's and listening to your terminology. Take care of them babies, meaning, my buddy gave a speech at his daughter's wedding. They will be gone in a week? Born on Sunday, a toddler on Monday, going to grade school on Tuesday, high school on Wednesday, college on Thursday, getting a job and going to work Friday, married and gone on Saturday. Something of that nature, anyway, they grow up to dang quick. Enjoy the time you have before they become a teenager and realize that they think they have all the answers. Good day Captain, say " hey " to the misses. Still love the drone footage over the barges! 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.

It looks great. If you move the sheller closer to the 'front' of the bin, the cobs should fall out on the ground. You can put the next ear in to help push them out also.
@ 22:15, that cone shape is made to shell the small end of the cob off. It's known as a 'nubber' and could be used to shell 'nubbins" that won't feed threw well.
Your sheller appears to be made by HS or Hibbard Spencer Hardware of Chicago.
By the way, shucking is the act of removing husks from the ear of corn 😁
