I love that you take the time to show us what you eat on the road and exactly how you get it done. You aren't fussing over the perfect video with perfect lighting - you are showing us how easy it is to do. For people who are overweight from eating junk all their life and have a complete fear of failure, this video is super helpful. Thanks!

This is great. I'm an oil-free vegan kinda guy, so much like his DDPYoga motto, I just "make it my own!" and stick with a veggies/ fruit/ beans/ nuts/ seeds type of salad, flavoured with some lemon juice, lime juice, or flavoured balsamic vinegars. DDP certainly goes out of his way to help people. He's awesome.

Dallas: as a widowed mom on a serious budget I cannot afford Whole Foods. BUT that does not stop me! ALDI has many organics, and Kroger has an AWESOME 50/50 blend organic salad that is half the price of WHole Foods. They have incredible organic sections. Simple Truth has a great Organic food line that you would LOVE Dallas. Almost all of their products are Kosher AND Non-GMO. I have to avoid most soy products, so I try to go all natural whole foods instead of anything processed.

I like DDP a lot and from what you hear from people who know him, he's a great guy... but I don't think he understands how rich he is. Since he doesn't eat dairy a lot of his recipes call for Manchego or other sheep or goat cheese. Manchego cheese is like $19 a pound. It's ridiculous. He also eats a lot of buffalo meat. I live in Colorado, the state where buffalo and bison meat is probably cheaper than anywhere else... and it's still like $13.50 a pound... even ground.
I know that when people eat healthier they tend to buy less and actually see their grocery bill go down (90/10 beef is more actual meat and more filling than cheaper 80/20 and so on) but his substitutions of veganaise, non dairy cheeses, air cooled chicken, etc are all way too much.

I live in NC and i use ALDI a lot also but i am lucky to have local farmers markets everywhere. I get things for a fraction of what he is spending but his love for what he is doing is great. I agree though he has no idea what its like at this point to budget like most people do lol.

I am from Oviedo and go to the local Farmers Market and always encourage my peeps to buy local and organic. Great message and work you are doing for this world DDP, thank you. Great video BUT one thing. I get the fridge the same way for my crohns medicine n such. The tub of greens you got is a great buy BUT the container rarely fits in the smaller fridge. Bring a large zip lock bag and toss it in or buy the spring mix in a resealable bag to make them fit in the fridge for sure.

Love how you did this just like one of the guys! Wish I knew that trick about the fridge before I had to stay at a hotel when Hurricane Sandy hit as 1 hotel charged us. I volunteer at a health food co-op so I can get my organic veggies fresh when they come in, as I eat a similar salad almost everyday with dinner. Not sure if you'd like this, but I add organic baby spinach it to the mixed greens spring mix. I know it comes with some spinach in there, but I figure the darker the greens the better.

Great stuff DDP, very informative. One thing I would add to this too, is before you travel somewhere do some looking around for local places in and around the area where you will be. If you have done your research ahead of time, it will make it easier to not fall victim to the cheap and easy fast food that you will encounter on your trip. Always a good idea to be prepared.

My husband is a pilot (for a charter company), and for years he’s eaten meals at restaurants (and wracked up quite a credit card bill), and spent the majority of time sitting (in the cockpit, at the airport, in the hotel...), and has steadily gained weight doing this for 15+ years. This is a great solution! However, not everyone can afford whole foods, and buying huge jars of mayo, or what you when you stay overnight or 2 to 3 days tops in a hotel is such a waste when you have toss most of it out when you leave. With that said, these are still good tips to follow!

Hey brother I am of course NOT DDP and not a trained physician but I can tell you as someone who is doing DDP yoga that it is low impact and comes with modified stances if you need an easier pace and is done best with a heart monitor. DDP yoga allows you to make it your own and change the pace as you need to and low impact right now just starting with the Dozen and Energy and its still a fairly easy pace just a matter of how much you want to, or how much you can safely put into it.

Nadar.

Just a note to those who can't afford the $19 starter salad DDP just made here, you definitely don't need to shop at Whole Foods, and a lot of "organic" products are essentially a price-inflation scam; if you can afford these things, go for it by all means. But you can get the same nutrition from regular produce from any cheap grocer for about 1/3 the price. This is much better than simply not doing it at all because organic Whole Foods is out of budget.

DDP you should invest in a mini-food processor. There are few two and three cup ones that you can toss in a backpack or small bag with no real issue. That way you can change up your salads on the road. Make some salsa for your salads or even make a chutney to go on some bread or crackers.

Over time as I made these changes, I started to eat a lot less. I'd eat smaller meals as it took less to make me full than it used to now that I was eating more natural foods. As a result of all this, the weight came off very fast, dropped those 40 lbs plus like it was nothing, and I wasn't even trying to lose weight when I started, just trying to eat better. So if you wanna lose, that'd be a great place to start, you'd be amazed what some small changes will do to you.

that grey is called bloom. it is totally natural and created by the blueberries for protection from insects and bacteria. and it keeps moisture in the berry. I guess DDP isint a nurseryman.

Items you want to try to buy organic woud include, apples, oranges, grapes, celery, peppers/bell peppers, peaches, strawberries, berries, nectarines, plums, apricots, etc., spinach, lettuces, cucumbers, kale, potatoes, greens and green beans, . Remember to use your vegetable washes on everything though. You can even repackage some of the spray into a travel size spray bottle for when you are on the go and grab an apple at the store or at a restaurant.

Fruit and Vegetable cleaner. You can get it from any of the large grocery stores. Its usually in the organic foods section or the fruit and veg section

Great question! Thought the exact same thing (minus the in college part) as soon as I saw the bag. There isn't one in my area but I've heard that Trader Joe's is just as good quality wise as Whole Foods and much cheaper price wise. No I don't work at Trader Joe's.

Ranch basically consists of these ingredients.
    1 cup mayonnaise
    3/4 cup buttermilk
    1/4 cup sour cream
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    1/4 teaspoon onion powder
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/8 teaspoon dried thyme
    1 tbsp finely chopped parsley
replace the mayo, buttermilk and the sour cream with vegan alternatives and you are good to go:) Honestly i just mix up the herbs with some olive oil and it works:)

Also if you refuse to eat leafy greens, but will eat other veggies then make a salad out of them. Do so everyday before every meal, and after a month add a small amount of leafy greens increasing the amount daily. The point is to get healthy organic veggies into your diet and simply get your body and mind used to eating healthy.

Those fruit and veggie spray washes are expensive too. I bring my produce home and put it in a large bowl with water and apple cider vinegar. Let it soak for a few minutes, rinse again, then spin dry in a salad spinner. Then I put everything in containers or bags and it's ready to eat all week long.

  • @TheAnuchild

You can get that one at whole foods, or even at your local grocer there is one called Veggie Lover's and one called FIT wash, usually they keep them in the produce section. Not all your fruits and veggies need to be organic,. If they have a THICK or non proous skin you can get away with non organic. Examples would be banannas, asparagus, onion, sweet corn, pinapple, avocado, cabbage, sweet peas, mangoes, eggplant, kiwi, cantaloupe, sweet potatoes, grapefruit, watermelon, mushrooms.
