Dynas are my favorite single coil pups
Filtertrons are my favorite humbucking pups.
As simple as that.
Theyre Perfect to mix together, neck - dynas, bridge - filtertrons
DYNASONICS RULE!
certainly do dude!!!
@@damonthegnomeoftonechivers PS you can hear all my Dynasonic equipped gtrs on our last album..THE MEMPHIS SUNS Spotify us..every track except for "Rockabilly Cafe"..Where I used my friends P90 equipped Washburn J9!...Cheers Frank The Memphis Suns.
(Clean)
neck comparison: DS 4:37 vs. FT 8:28.
Bridge: 4:18 vs 7:22
Very nice. Having just got my first guitar I now know what to say to my wife when I need another. Love the dynasonic sound!
You know it makes sense!!! you need BOTH!!
Thanks Damon really useful comparison
Thanks Al
DS for neck and FT on the bridge would make a killer combo!
I agree. The only problem s that they are totally different sizes and fitiings, so production wise its expensive to do. I don't think you can retro fit a Dynasonic into a Filtertron sized hols.
@@damonthegnomeoftonechivers tv Jones makes a filtertrons in a dynasonic shell.
Want Twang?... Need Dynasonics!
Everyone needs the Twang.....
Can i put dynasounds or something with similar sound in my G5230T Electromatic?, dyna sounds sounds just amazing. The G5230T Electromatic has black top filtertone.
Wtf are dynasonics?? Are they darmonds, t armands etc? What is a hierarchy? How to list them? Thnxx brother ❤
Dynasonics are the original Gretsch Single coil pickups from the 50's. Chet Atkins decided he wanted a fatter louder pickup so they developed the Filtertron humbucker for him. Very similar to the Les Paul which started with P90's and then had the Seth Lover PAF's added.
I think the Dynasonics sound better clean and the Filtertrons sound better overdriven.
interesting dude....I think I,m the other way round!!!!!
Dynasonics sounds awesome when they break up. Dirty but still clear for articulate leads.
Whatever you are playing on the 6555T around 6 something mark reminds me of The Police "Bring On The Night". Were you playing that?
No, but probably an idea with sliding 6th.s which is essentially what it’s made up from!
Nice demo! 👍
Thank you kind sir....you are clearly a very discerning individual!!
One might think that for the G6128's price, that they'd at least throw on a B3C?? Harumph!
I have a Hi-lotron in the neck of my Tele and always wonder if a dearmond would drop in...🤔
Which DeArmond? The Hi- Low I think is a Filertron size? So the DeArmond will be smaller.
@@damonthegnomeoftonechivers ok. So that's a no. (And yes, the hi-lotron replaced a filtertron - it was a straight swap) I can't really grumble about the hi-lotron though. It's pretty fantastic.
Thank you 👍
Dynasonics sounds great
They do indeed….like a P90 with more clarity!
I have a set of T- armonds from TV Jones (dynasonic copies). Thinking about keeping the bridge and putting a Filtertron in the neck. The neck T-armond lacks just a bit of body that would allow the guitar to go a bit more into jazzy territories.
Hi Sylvia’s.....the construction and that dynasonic does give a lot of bottom end, but a Filtertron would definitely give you a more broad sound. Ideal for jazz dude
@@damonthegnomeoftonechivers Thanks mate. I'll proceed with that idea. People at TV jones at the time mentioned that a P90 bridge and Filtertron neck was a really neat combination in solid bodies. But with my Gretsch center block, the T- armond bridge just sounds too good.
Great video Damon! I just purchased a custom penguin with dynasonics and can't wait for it to arrive this weekend! This video helped me to rest assured that it won't be a tonal duplicate of my Broadkaster Jr.
Out of curiosity, which of the two do you prefer, the Jet or Broadkaster Jr? And I guess the age old comparison questions... Full'tron or PAF? Dynasonic or P90?
Totally mate. Just different! I tend to use the Jet for more classic rock/Americana types of projects, but the Filtertrons I use where I need any kind of clean, even pop and funk. But they are both hugely versatile. Thanks for watching.
How do you like your Penguin?
@@jamesgretsch4894 I actually ended up returning it to the shop. Didn't like the way the bridge sounded with gain. The Bigsby arm also had very little clearance over the pickguard. So little in fact, that it was hard to grip it fully and if you did, you couldn't really bend towards the body without banging your hand on the pickguard.
I did think it looked pretty sweet though and the neck pickup sounded great.
Filtertrons are just better... more intimate sound, more warm
turn off the effects and lets hear the pickups !
Yes sir!
Time for me to trade in or sell some lower tier guitars and get that G6128 DS...
It's a great guitar. From Jazz and country through to classic rock and blues it really is unique and versatile.
