I'm impressed, that was a spot-on impression of the late, great "American Dream" AKA "The son of a plumber" Dusty Rhodes! You can really tell that you're real fan of old-school wrestling! Too bad, he wasn't in the game because I'd loved to drop some "Bionic Elbows" on everyone! Truly a one-of-a-kind guy and it's sad to think he left us, but man oh man did he give some unforgettable moments and leave such an amazing legacy behind! At least, we still got Dusty's two sons Dustin and Cody who are destined to continue to add that legacy and we still got the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, I don't know how he does it but I'm 100% convinced that man will live to be a 100 or more LOL!
That's very nice of you to say. I've been a fanOf wrestling since just before wrestlemania one and I've attended probably 30 or 40 Live events. I was in the second row in Chicago when Ricky steamboat beat Ric flair for the world title But I was also in attendance when flair beat Ronnie Garvin for the world title. I went to a meet and greet with flair last year and he was the nicest most humble guy and nothing at all like you would see on TV. By the way, did you like my Howard Finkel impression as well? :-) Thanks again
I played Wrestlefest to death in the arcades and owned a Superstars cabinet for a while. Wrestlefest was the first game I ever emulated I remember setting it up on a friends PC using a bunch of floppy disks. Those chunky sprites were great and the Royal Rumble was impressive at the time.. Anyone remember the arcade game The Main Event? I could never figure out how to play that game, I think it was supposed to use those stupid squishy air filled buttons that some Streetfighter 1 cabs used..
The main event was a tough cookie to crack. I was never very good at that game either although I love the graphics. A friend of mine was the one who dumped the original ROMs for wrestlefest Back in 1997 or 1998 so it could be emulated. I was actually a beta tester when the original driver was written. The first beta I received the character sprites were all garbled but everything else is fine. So I played it for about 30 minutes that way and it was awesome. LOL
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries yeah, Warrior's move set was pretty powerful. I would use him and Hogan for the Rumble matches. You could easily slam people out of the ring with them.

@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries I think you should do a video on the WWF knock-off 'The Main Event'. I loved that one too! It had poor controls but it was so well-made otherwise.
Still a terrific arcade game. I always like imagining Vince McMahon's voice announcing the title..."WWF WRESTLEFEEEEESSSSSSST" with that distinctive growl.
Wasn't WrestleFest one of the PPV events that WWF ran back in the day? I think it must have been short-lived, but even so Vince probably did do a promo for it at some point.
I love this game, I have it on my phone. I might get the WWF Superstars game. If fans want to play something similar, but with a modern take on it, try out WWE Allstars.
In my opinion the greatest WWF wrestling game of that particular era. It had the energy it had the aura it had the personality it was the total package when it came to to depicting the world wrestling federation.. the super WrestleMania for the super Nintendo entertainment system never came close . the closest thing to wrestlefest I think it's Saturday night slam Masters.and what made those games so great was that the programmers was coming from an authentic place. Wrestlefest will always be number one in my book.
I agree, the game is 25 years old and people are still talking about it and enjoying it. This is the one game the fans have been wanting them to remake or re-release but for some reason they haven't done it. Perhaps it's a licensing issue? It's a great game is why it was my very first video I ever did. Thanks for watching please subscribe if you haven't already
25 years later I still vividly remember the first time I pulled off Earthquakes finisher. Seeing him jump around again and do the giant whoopsie just made my day.
That was awesome the first time I saw it as well. He didn't just do is finish her but he actually did the motions prior to it which was animated perfectly :-)

On the Nes, decent ´rasslin games are Pro Wrestling, Tecmo World Wrestling and WCW..worth checking out. The LJN WWF games on the Nes are mostly...yuck.

Thanks again
LOL
What was everyone's tag team? I always chose DiBiase and Mr. Perfect.
Mine was always Hulk Hogan and ultimate warrior. I loved ultimate warriors power slam
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries yeah, Warrior's move set was pretty powerful. I would use him and Hogan for the Rumble matches. You could easily slam people out of the ring with them.
@Turd Ferguson Hulk is my favorite of all time but I just really liked the move set of DiBiase and Perfect. I dominated with DiBiase.
I agree bro; this was the king of old-school arcade wrestling. I played them all back in the day, and WrestleFest was never made obsolete. I think it's even better than the fancy 100,000 or whatever bit crap thats out now.
LOL, I agree 100%
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries I think you should do a video on the WWF knock-off 'The Main Event'. I loved that one too! It had poor controls but it was so well-made otherwise.
I love sgt slaughters finisher looks like he sticks his finger in there ear
I F*UCKING LOVE this game so much. Still play it. You have such a great channel
Thanks for the nice words, glad you enjoy the content
Still a terrific arcade game. I always like imagining Vince McMahon's voice announcing the title..."WWF WRESTLEFEEEEESSSSSSST" with that distinctive growl.
Wasn't WrestleFest one of the PPV events that WWF ran back in the day? I think it must have been short-lived, but even so Vince probably did do a promo for it at some point.
Wrestlfest was a video collection of matches from various house shows back in the late 80’s early 90’s so the title fit
I love this game, I have it on my phone. I might get the WWF Superstars game. If fans want to play something similar, but with a modern take on it, try out WWE Allstars.
WWE All-Stars is a lot of fun
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries I wish they came out with a part 2 though.
Thank goodness for Mame
Absolutely!
thanks for sharing PatmanQC - History of arcade game documentaries
Thank you so much for watching
My go to heel tag team was always Jake and Ted
Worst thing about wrestlefest is you have to put money in to get health back 😆
If you win a match in the tagteam mode you do get a slight health increase
The dude who created Double Dragon also did Wrestlefest!!!!! WOW !!!!
Absolutely :-)
Here Comes The Pain & No Mercy are the best wrestling games ever made
Definitely the best arcade game!! Wasn't the legion of doom part of it too?
There were the tagteam champions of the game
25 years later I still vividly remember the first time I pulled off Earthquakes finisher. Seeing him jump around again and do the giant whoopsie just made my day.
That was awesome the first time I saw it as well. He didn't just do is finish her but he actually did the motions prior to it which was animated perfectly :-)
1:41 Man that sounds just like the Road Warriors...on whippits.
LOL, you are right :-)
I used to play this game at Parkway Center Mall in Pittsburgh, Greentree area as a youngster. Great Game and Wonderful Memories. I loved th he entrances.
It's the greatest wrestling arcade game of all time
Dam the Warlord and Taker
Yes, it's unfortunate that they couldn't be included
PatmanQC - History of arcade game documentaries never the less still an awesome game, yay to my childhood. Thank you for the great documentary 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
No problem, please subscribe and share my channel if you haven't already
DAMN!! Brings back great childhood memories man!
Thanks a lot
I had bop n wrestle!
I can still pick that game up and play it today. It's one of my favorites
I want this game so bad, I used to play for hours.
So did I, it was a classic
Crazy that they couldn't have the actual people record the few lines of dialogue they would of had....
I agree
Let me tell you something brother...watcha gonna do. Another wrestling videos would be nice.
I set figure out which one to do
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries how's about wrestlemania the arcade game. It was a good one and ported to many formats. 😆
I'm loving the trip down memory lane ! I kinda forgot some of these i played in middle school
The golden age of the arcade :-)
I used to have and love that dodgeball game for nintendo!!! And this is the sickest wrestling game ever!! I was never able to find it in any arcades in my area when i was a kid and itd make me so mad!!!
I loved that dodgeball game. No matter where I was, if I Saw WWF Wrestlefest In an arcade somewhere I would have to stop and play it.
Usually saw Wfest @ the movies along with those awesome Simpsons and X-Men game that 4 players could play..fuckin awesome times
Great content but dude...work on the audio. The clicks were especially annoying
First of all this was the very first video I did so the audio is terrible which is why I did a remastered one. Look for it on my channel. Second of all, I'm a quad amputee and have to have the microphone right next to my mouse so I apologize for the clicking noise
PatmanQC - History of arcade game documentaries my apologies patmanqc! That was the first video I saw, because like you, I spent a lot of money on Wrestlefest pretending I was Demolition. The video was enjoyable. Again, I was unaware this was your first video or of your handicaps and meant no disrespect. Just keep doing what ur doing my friend
I love both games shout out to the superstars that's no longer with us! #rip
Absolutely, thanks
Good Dusty Rhodes impression 💪👍😋🤩
LOL, thank you so much:-)
I was a big mark for both Superstars and Wrestlefest back in the day. It took a lot of my quarters as a kid and I gladly gave it to them. Great Dusty voice towards the end! On the Nes, decent ´rasslin games are Pro Wrestling, Tecmo World Wrestling and WCW..worth checking out. The LJN WWF games on the Nes are mostly...yuck.
Yes, I agree. Those are the only good wrestling games on the NES. The LJN stuff is just horrible. Thanks for the compliment on my dusty voice, nobody has ever mentioned that. LOL
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries Voice was spot on! lol..you also did a good job announcing several wrestlers like you were the Fink. Just classic stuff all around.
LOL, that was the first video I had done and forgot I had done the fink as well. The fink was a pretty obscure reference and again nobody mentioned the imitations, glad somebody finally got it. LOL
Thanks for the kind words
Also, if you like wrestling games check out my Mat mania video. Pro wrestling on the NES was based on this. This is a newer video of mine and is a lot better than wrestleFest in terms of production quality
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries Yeah, I actually watched that vid a couple of days ago. I could definitely see resemblance in gameplay and graphics with Nes Pro Wrestling. I played Mat Mania as a kid and was absolutely in awe. Many years passed until I could track it down again, thanks to the internet. Watching your vid brought back a lot of good memories.
How do you tag and do the spacial move??😬
If you press the fire button without making a movement on the joystick go grab the person in a headlock and you can walk them over to Your corner. At that point press the fire button and you'll do a double-team move
It would be cool if someone did a hack for this game that added more 80's characters for the original WWF Wrestlefest (Andre The Giant, Junkyard Dog, Ricky The Dragon Steamboat, Rowdy Roddy Piper, etc)
I'm surprised nobody has done that yet but with pixel arts it's a lot harder apparently
But someone had the "brilliant" idea of making a remake of theis game with WWE wrestlers of this era and release it on mobile phones. :/ Just... UGH
Excellent 👍
Thanks a lot, please subscribe
These mini-documentaries are fantastic! The breadth and depth of your gaming knowledge is impressive, to say the least. Kudos and keep up the amazing work!
Thank you very much for the kind words. Glad you enjoy my content :-)
Nice Dusty Rhodes imitation btw 👍
Thank you very much :-)
This is still one of my favorites there suppoed to be a new one on da ps3 but never came.out i wish they would they had all the new wwe superstars in it thry need to make a new wrestlfest game come on wwe just making like.the og one new wrestlers n update it be so sick
I would love it if they did an actual update that was good and not a rushed IOS Or android version.
ha. i loved playing Bop N Wrestle with my brothers as a kid in the 80's.
It was the best wrestling game on the Commodore 64 By far
Never was a fan of those games, but 1 WWF game I did like. Sadly I forgot the name of it. But it had a clown in it who could combo slap you and so on. Was a funny game.
That was WWF wrestlemania, it came out in 1995
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries
Thanks:)
That game was a glorified plop of diarrhea featuring Commentary by Vince McMahon
Wrestlefest was fun I want to buy the arcade
So do I, it's one of the best wrestling games out there
Ravishing Rick Rude was snubbed from Superstars same as Undertaker and/or Macho Man from Wrestlefest
Taker was into his second year with WWF, at the time he didn't have the fame or stature of any of the other superstars and Savage had his career kayfabe-ended earlier that year. But Rick Rude definitely should have been incuded.
While everyone else was playing that lame Streetfighter II crap, the cool kids were playing WWF Wrestlefest... BROTHER!
The audio levels are off, I'm glad I wasn't wearing headphones. Also in the video thumbnail strangely it lists the video as being 23.34 when the video played is actually 15.03. Not sure why that happened. 🤔
Sorry about that, check out my updated version of this video which is much better. This is one of the first videos I ever did
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries Any idea why the time listed on the thumbnail is different to the length of the video when played?
@@pferreira1983 Just an error on my part, sorry
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries Okay. 👍
How do u unlock LOD through MAME?
It only works on certain emulators but there is a cheat option that has to be enabled
Gotta learn to download Mame and this game
It's not that difficult, there are plenty of tutorials out there
Wish they could release this for xbox today
GREAT HISTORY OF WWF WRESTLEFEST ARCADE DOCUMENTARY !!!!
Thank you so much
I think i still have bop n wrestle
It's a great game, if the floppy still works after 30 years LOL
I love this game in the arcades
So do I:-)
Good memories. It was too hard for me though. Tap tap tap tap tap tap
Not for me, I love the game
@@PatmanQC-Arcade-Documentaries me too
WWF WrestleFest was made by Technos Japan and Techno knows arcade type genre style of game play.
Remember to style and profile
To be the man you got to beat the man :-)
"We snack on danger, dine on death. You'll fail just like every gerbal faced geek we've faced yeeeaaahhhh! Classic
Absolute classic. LOL
I never knew what Hawk said...finally !
#thankyou
@@stuckontube I always thought he was calling him a Dick but I knew that couldn't be true because this is essentially a kids game
Loved Superstars, Wrestlefest and Wrestlemania.
That last one will upset a few but for those not fully angered, I had it on the Amstrad and played the blood, sweat and vitamins out of it.
I was pretty upset with wrestlemania considering it cost me 70 bucks :-)
I think the best wrestling games of all time. We miss you Technos.
They created ton of classic arcade games
Sound like Mr. Rodgers
Won't you be my neighbor?
