      When a Steely Dan producer asked in an interview how Donald sang into the rhythm back in the 70's
      he said :"He punched in"
      means he kept singing until the track was perfect.
      By the tune and the rhythm together.

    2:54. Just to hear Michael sing the words "foreign movie" in that really odd-interval harmony, and keep it perfectly on pitch. Always makes my day.

      I learned Jay Graydon's solo in Peg note for note when it came out, and performed it live many times. It is harder than it sounds. This guy was allowed to riff his own solo and his tone and choices were far from the masterpiece Jay Graydon laid down on the original.
      He did the same to Larry Carlton's masterpiece in Third World Man.

    I cannot believe I have just stumbled onto this! This is the “Classical” music our kids and grandkids should be embracing and studying. The caliber of all of the musicianship is worth the price of a ticket. I would like to personally thank the genius who put this touring act together.

      There are definitely lots of younger fans out there. I'm 27, but I know of younger people than me who are heavily into this era of music.
      Great music lasts forever. It might not stay in the top 100 forever, but It will always have a legacy that far outpaces the generic stuff we've been fed for a long time now.

      Still so very distinct though. (I used to have a near perfect voice- not so much anymore I’ve lost a lot of range, but I can still sing along with SD. It’s an injury that’s taking years to heal- but it’ll never be what it was and that’s fine!)

    I remember hearing this song in the late 70s being too young to know who were the musicians and singers. Unlike any other song I'd heard before, there was one voice, in the background, that stood out and got my attention like never before. "Peeeeeg!" Who was that??? It's such a pleasure to see this group perform the song and to see Michael McDonald as that voice.

    Went to see Steely Dan 2 years before this gig and they were superb. Everyone did their job beautifully and the sound mix was pristine. Bravo.

    Nothing will beat the original Donalds voice isn't as good as it was but it's still a good job you have to remember of course each recording is a moment in time in the studio all you can do is appreciate how good it was at the time
