    Excellent instructional video that covers everything A to Z. It was the only video that covered hose to hose connection that does not include a elbow respirator (?) not even sure that is what it is called. But you cleared up that issue for me and it was imperative I get that info today. So thank you!

      @@sarahthecpaplady When using the Airfit P10, is it normal to have an oxygen level of say 90-94 (I have a pulse ox)? I thought my levels would not drop. Is that considered normal? Also, this is the second time using it and I used it for maybe 3 hours and my chest feels warm and I felt flushed. Is that normal? I am nervous to use this for fear the co2 is not escaping well enough through the nose pillow “vents”. What are your thoughts? I’m new to this pillow. I changed over from a mask that covered my mouth as well.
      Thank you!

      @@sarahthecpaplady Thanks - I have thick medium hair and I was putting the strap under my hair like you showed in the video...maybe I should loosen it. I've tried the small and medium pillows; the large touched each other like you showed in the video. I'm pretty sure medium is the best size. This is my first week using a CPAP and it's hard to get comfortable when I sleep. But I'm committed to making it work. The adherence advisor recommended using it a few hours while watching tv or reading during a 24 hour period to help me get used to it. Thanks for your video and your response.

    Hi I'm in Sydney Aus and just bought 1st Cpap Rm10... Tried 10 years ago but then unsure if anything latex/rubber as anyphylatic too it.
    I used small pillows after 2nd sleep study but keep trying to put the pillow thing in nose?? Do I do that
    Have not used it for 6 days as my face swelled where bands are !
    I thought 1st night was a breeze ( well sort of) as my breathing stopped 60 x's per hour and my heart has been racing.
    Question 1. Do I put whole nasal pillow in? I do have a deviated septum.
    Question 2. I noticed your mask came with a hair thing? Mine didn't.
    Question 3 You said you got new nasal pillows every month?
    Pillows alone are aud 89.00..
    My Resmed 10 Auto cost $ 1900 which is a heck of a lot..
    Did bargain for cheapest place on line and then picked it up as wanted asap after sleep report.
    Help !!

    i have high pressure setting (10 - 25 ) on my bipap machine. i am also a mouth breather. i tried the vitera full face mask and the resmed F10 w/o any success as they both had horrible leaks.
    i feel that there is a huge disconnect in this industry in helping t he patient once they have had the sleep study. i feel claustrophobic w/ the full face mask and would like to try nasal mask but have no clue where to start. any suggestions?

      The Vitara and the newer f20 are definitely your Best bets for a pressure that high. When it comes to a nasal mask it's also hard to keep that from blowing off your fave
      The ResMed ActivaLT is old but fantastic...it sucks to your face. The ESON from Fisher and paykel does well to. Sometimes you can combine a mask liner with any mask to improve your seal.

      Usually the package comes with more than one size so you might take a look and see if you have any extras. If you do you can double check the size in the mirror for what looks best. If the air is trying to come out of your mouth 1 close your teeth 2 put the tongue on the roof of your mouth and 3 swallow to suck out extra space.

    Hi Sarah. Brand new CPAP user here. I notice most of the CPAP reviewers on RUclips are men and was happy to find a female perspective. You mention you started with the swift fx before the p10. Is there a particular reason you like the p10 better? I chose the n30 nasal cushion during set up with the medical supplier last week, which has the same head strap as the p10. I don’t mind the head strap, but I spend a lot of time shifting the cushion around under my nose, trying to get it lined up right (probably a new user error) and now am thinking pillows might have been a better choice. My online research is making the swift fx Bella with the option of head gear or ear loops looks interesting, but I’m wondering if there is something that makes the p10 better? Thanks for sharing your knowledge on this topic!

    • @sarahthecpaplady
      @sarahthecpaplady  Год назад

      Thank You so much! The p10 is easier to change and pulls my hair less the the swift FX did. I could not wear Bella loops because my ears are not detached at the lobe and it fell off alot. I had the same problem with the N30 that you are.

    • @sarahthecpaplady
      @sarahthecpaplady  2 года назад +1

      I close my teeth, put my tongue on the roof of my mouth and swallow. This sucks all the extra space out of my mouth and helps me keep my mouth shut. I know other people who use bite guards that they bite down on at night and that helps them keep their mouth closed without a grinding issue. There's also stickers nowadays you can buy to help keep your lips together.. Nothing is guaranteed!

    had used these masks for years. They used to have problem with the elastic stretching to the point where they needed to be replaced. ResMed "improved" the design with an adjustable strap. Good idea, lousy implementation. I have now had three units fail (just out of their 30-day warranty) where the elastic joins the plastic adjuster. One unit fail after only 4 night's use. This used to be a great product, now it is a total waste of money.

      Ok, I hear you. I have been dispensing it for about 7 years now and about twice a year I get a guy (always a guy) who obliterates his. In my opinion that mask is danty and has to be treated as such to survive. It also has to be washed all the time (weekly) to keep elasticity. I have had one last me over a year. Sounds like you need something more durable like the Rio II or Brevida. If you like ResMed pillows like I do you want the P30i.

      You want to try and keep your mouth closed. Sometimes it helps if you close your teeth and swallow, letting the air bypass your mouth and go straight down your throat. If you haven't gotten any better at it you can try a chin strap but if the air is constantly escaping you will have to switch to a full face mask.
