It did indeed take a lot of effort but it was mostly creating an underlying database that I can now use to do a lot of other useful analyses! Hopefully that will make it worthwhile :D
Me and my friends did a run of VOG with completely optimized dps setups and we did the whole raid in 32:51 (that’s the fastest we have ever done a raid and we all pumped a fuck ton of dps.) Thanks for such a clear and pretty easy to understand explanation to this.

even though I am a "veteran player" and use some of the best dps options already, I still learned a lot! No one EVER told me to use targeting mods when double slugging, and knowing that Levi isn't really as "bottom barrel" as it gets, gives me a sigh of relief when I see someone with it. I’ve always wanted to do speedruns but never felt I could til destiny and as of now it’s the thing I want to do the most in the game. I’ve played destiny for so long but I only got into dungeons and raids back with the launch of 30th anniversary. Now this is the kind of stuff that is fun for me. I used to grind hours aimlessly doing strikes or lost sectors and played destiny as a hoarder solo player or just adventurer kinda. Now however I love doing dungeons and raids and I love hearing about people rotations for damage and why as it so often reveals some hidden secret in game mechanics that I didn’t know. Videos like this one, (if there are any like it), are exactly what I love and want to hear about. Hell of a job putting this video together.

its funny seeing so many players trying these rotations and failing miserably in my lfg raids lol. Shout out to the new RDM hunters who dodge and instantly forget there are other players around. That said, I appreciate seeing more players trying to improve instead of complaining all the time.
33:44 When the pellet shotgun buff came out (forget what season but I remember it was sometime around VoD coming out) I put together a swap rotation between ragnhild, found verdict, and acrius with dragon shadow. I didn't do official dmg testing but in Rhulk farms I was able to out damage Izi+palm spam consistently (Both builds having optimal dex+targeting+FoM mods). Then acrius got trench barrel and I never cared enough to figure out a new rotation.

@@PyroZero_ Not Aegis, but sprint canceling doesn't work like that on any gun to my knowledge. But it does help you get into ADS faster, yeah. If you hold down the fire button while in this state, the gun will also shoot immediately once the reload duration is over, which is great to make sure you're not waiting unnecessarily between shots (either from just going slow or from having to wait for ADS animation after you already waited for the full reload animation).

The dedication to test almost every dps rotation is surreal, great work. Although at 11:46 when you said titans have no helpful weapon dps exotics, I do want to let you know that eternal warrior got a rework and gives arc weapon damage boosts up to 25% and the tier 4 buff gets activated when exiting fists of havoc. The only problem is that it only works with arc weapons and you need to use FoH instead of Thundercrash. Path of the burning steps also got a similar rework but with solar weapons. Other than that the video is perfect.
Giving up Cuirass Thundercrash (easily Titan's best ability-based burst DPS) in order to use a 25% surge on Arc (not the best affinity atm given rockets) over a 17% or 22% surge is just not worth doing unfortunately. The only thing that could have titans compete at a high level is Verity-assisted HoIL pulse/storm grenades in a Demo rotation, but I didn't want to include that in an individual rotation ranking for obvious reasons. As for PotBS, I don't think I need to explain why that's not a great choice either.

Regnant got it’s time in the spotlight :) I hope bungo does something to bring HGLs and linears up. Maybe HGLs could start rolling with cascade point + better damage perks with a buff to reserves and making linears the total damage kings if you land crits. I am a critic of thunderlord but it is nice that you can get 2 needlestorms off in one phase with it.

This video making me realize b&s rockets might have been a mistake with the amount of power creep they’ve done for dps, lol.
Great vid dude! I love using Malfeasance Lucky pants when with LFG’s. Main reason is the ammo economy. If it doesn’t feel like the team is going to one phase a certain boss I open with around 15 shots before a dodge reload then swap between a fusion and bait n switch apex until out of luck call down over. Not optimal but fun and consistent.
banger of a video holy shit 🤠 For the next part you should include supremacy with bait and rewind + cartesian damage test to pair with tractor/ghorn when you cannot use double pallet and maybe also include whats the best rotation for every interval of time since different bosses have different dps phases (mainly looking at the 25 sec one since its the most common)
Fantastic video very well laid out. the only thing that came to my mind is that I wish you made a point to highlight the best double weapon setup for those cases where you want a gun to shoot moths or something. to be fair that's a little outside the purview of boss damage.

Really regret deleting my alh/surrounded sojourners now. Right before lightfall I cleaned my vault and saw that I haven’t used my sojourners in a long time (always just used my alh/vorpal filo with 85 handling) so I went right ahead and deleted it for the vault space. Can’t be arsed to farm a new one. Maybe next season we will get another solar slug.

Back when Lightfall first came out and heavy GLs received their boss damage buff, I remember trying out Cloudstrike with ALH/Cascade Point and finding it a little more consistent than my friends' Explosive Light rolls. You obviously lose out on the buffed damage for the first six shots, but my basic napkin math found that the increased fire rate would end up pulling ahead in more sustained scenarios - especially if you ran Backup Mag and/or one of the mag-boosting drums. Having 7 or 8 in the drum allows you to better take advantage of Cascade Point's 2.5-second duration and, in theory, would be infinitely self-refreshing since Cascade only requires two sniper crits to activate. So I would shoot off three Cloudstrike shots to get the first lightning proc + triple tap refund and ready Cascade, dump all 7/8 Wendigo rounds, then swap back to Cloudstrike and shoot 6 more shots while waiting for ALH, and repeat. Haven't tried it since the rapid fire sniper buff. Explosive Light is absolutely better if you only have the time or ability to shoot one mag (or a bunch of extra orbs like you would in a team setting), but there aren't a whole lot of damage phases in this game that are that short. Your Izi swap setup would probably blow this out of the water, but it might be worth keeping in mind in case heavy GLs, rapid fire snipers, or both get more buffs in the future.
Cloudstrike + Cascade Wendigo is something I considered trying out for this video, but it doesn't seem to perform very well theoretically... I can revisit it when I go over Cascade Point rotations.
@@TheAegisRelic I figured it wouldn't, since neither of the weapons on their own are all that great and there isn't a ton of room to add a kinetic slot weapon into the rotation. The only thing it really has going for it in the context of this discussion is that it's funny to fire a Wendigo at 200RPM. Figured I'd throw it out there on the off chance you hadn't considered it at all. Awesome work as always.
It would genuinely be amazing for you to do damage testing for low mans as well, e.g. Dungeons or Low-man raids where you can't fit things like Ballidorse Wrathweavers for Cold Comfort users or Tractor Cannon. Loved this and will definitely be using the spreadsheet moving forward. Are you planning to update it as time goes on?

Back when Lightfall first came out and heavy GLs received their boss damage buff, I remember trying out Cloudstrike with ALH/Cascade Point and finding it a little more consistent than my friends' Explosive Light rolls. You obviously lose out on the buffed damage for the first six shots, but my basic napkin math found that the increased fire rate would end up pulling ahead in more sustained scenarios - especially if you ran Backup Mag and/or one of the mag-boosting drums. Having 7 or 8 in the drum allows you to better take advantage of Cascade Point's 2.5-second duration and, in theory, would be infinitely self-refreshing since Cascade only requires two sniper crits to activate. So I would shoot off three Cloudstrike shots to get the first lightning proc + triple tap refund and ready Cascade, dump all 7/8 Wendigo rounds, then swap back to Cloudstrike and shoot 6 more shots while waiting for ALH, and repeat.
Haven't tried it since the rapid fire sniper buff. Explosive Light is absolutely better if you only have the time or ability to shoot one mag (or a bunch of extra orbs like you would in a team setting), but there aren't a whole lot of damage phases in this game that are that short. Your Izi swap setup would probably blow this out of the water, but it might be worth keeping in mind in case heavy GLs, rapid fire snipers, or both get more buffs in the future.
Cloudstrike + Cascade Wendigo is something I considered trying out for this video, but it doesn't seem to perform very well theoretically... I can revisit it when I go over Cascade Point rotations.
@@TheAegisRelic I figured it wouldn't, since neither of the weapons on their own are all that great and there isn't a ton of room to add a kinetic slot weapon into the rotation. The only thing it really has going for it in the context of this discussion is that it's funny to fire a Wendigo at 200RPM. Figured I'd throw it out there on the off chance you hadn't considered it at all. Awesome work as always.

It would genuinely be amazing for you to do damage testing for low mans as well, e.g. Dungeons or Low-man raids where you can't fit things like Ballidorse Wrathweavers for Cold Comfort users or Tractor Cannon. Loved this and will definitely be using the spreadsheet moving forward. Are you planning to update it as time goes on?

HoIL pulse/storm Demo rocket with Verity's teammates is pretty decent, but I didn't list it here since it does require a whole team structure built around it :P
