Widebody 3000gt VR4 is finally ready for paint. AeroCatch hood pin install and modified rear bumper.

- The 3000gt is finally ready to get painted. In this video I swapped out the 1st gen rear bumper and replaced it with a 2nd gen bumper with a few modifications for a more aggressive look. I also cut the evil eye hood to fit over the 3rd gen 1999 headlights and installed an AeroCatch 120-2000 hood latch.

Corvette Supersonic Blue would look amazing on that car. This is 7 months late though. I'm fitting the victory racing evil eye hood on my 95 vr4 and this video is going to help tremendously with the Aerocatch pins

Definitely look into doing it. A few options out now on different styles of wide body fenders

Hey bro, looks great, honestly I was never a fan of the later generations. Liked the pop up gen better but this build has won me over. Amazing it works so well, will look mad in full red.
Thank you. The car did originally start off with pop ups. I do want to make another one later with the pop ups but use a more boxy looking kit.

My vote goes to Rotor Glow (Orange/Red Pearl), it was the special OEM colour for the 2009 and up Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart with fully loaded options(basically a base model body with the Evolution drivetrain and interior)

The 3k is looking slick! Shame about the crack in the hood on the passenger side above the headlight, the rear defuser looks sick, you should really try to pick one up! Keep up the good work!

Yeah that was my bad. I pushed a little too hard when fitting the latches. But thankfully it will get fixed and reinforced when I hand it off to the body shop. I have been itching over a black car. My old eclipse was black and I loved it. I am playing around with making a rear defuser actually. Using foam board to mock everything up.

I wish this kit didn't take the panels so close to the headlights and door seams. It would be nice if the panels could be molded and seamed to the existing.

Trust me I'm so torn with keeping it red. That was my original plan. I even have 2 gallons of the paint.

Took a super hard to find classic and turned it into a washing machine!! not gonna make it any faster just so you know as for the value, from perhaps 20k stock value to now a whooping $500 if you are lucky.

If you do change the color from red then i feel sorry for the dude painting it. As you know there is so much stuff that will have to come back off.

Yeah standard should have went live first. I believe youtube was saying like 4-5 hours for the HD version loaded

If you have a 91 then I would say the super rare turquoise color “Jamaican blue” paint code from Mitsubishi is T72. That is the color on my VR4 and I love it
