The song is much better in the studio and there are other better live versions, but it is a song to fill an album.

Hello Rebeka, hope you’re doing great! I enjoy this song as a great way to open up the Use Your Illusions I & II! The bass is drenched in chorus, setting up the explosion of energy & bombastics! To me, this song is closer to the Appetite for Destruction era! Though the double album has lots of great songs, sometimes I feel like it’s a bit bloated in terms of style! I feel like if they cut half the songs out they would’ve had a one very solid album with A+ songs! The other things about GnR, they are a true rock band that lived dangerously on the edge almost every moment including on stage! As a result, there’s a lot of amazing shows & some really awful, sloppy ones too! You just never knew if Axl was going to leave the show or if Slash/Duff would overdose………….they just don’t make rock n roll bands like this anymore! Anyways, I agree that this isn’t their best song or performance but I really enjoy the studio version! Thanks again, cheers!

Love your reactions. You are awesome & honest :) This one was not good quality in the way it was recorded, which takes away from the band's performance. Studio version is a good option for an easier listen, and also reading the lyrics can help, as well. Right Next Door To Hell is a very angry song, so it makes sense that it is not everyone's cup of tea. Other GnR songs which I hope you may like more. I looked up your other GnR reactions to remind myself of the songs you've already reacted to, so I hope that I did not miss them, if you had already reacted to these: Better, There was a time, You're Crazy (slow version), Used to love her (the lyrics sound harsh, but if you read the back story, it makes more sense), You could be mine (the official video is awesome if you like Arnold Schwarzenegger/ Terminator), Dont cry alt version (I know you had reacted to the original version).

During the 91-92 time frame you'd have hit and miss performances, sometimes Axl would just scream through the lyrics at this time instead of singing the lyrics. The Studio version is a better listen in my opinion.
