also theres the point where aaa games are made to make money, so they try to broaden their audience as much as possible while indie games are mostly passion projects and are super niche and therefore have a lot of personality built into them

I mean indie games being better absolutely isn't unique to games. Big budget films, record label propped up music, books made for the mass market etc, its all just putting marketability and profit over making a genuinely good work of art
