I use this (when I'm not being lazy) on most of my trout flies. Much prefer the loop which gives the flies a more realistic movement. This is simple and effective.
For light salt water use? I use this knot for tying circle hooks onto 80lb snoods, stands up just fine to full pendulum casts with hook linked onto the lead like a south african rig, with 8oz leads
I also use it ,however if you are casting heavy flies such as Clauser minnows, I wouldn't recommend it. The line continuously rubs on the eye of the hook, and eventually frays and breaks.
Lefty is a fricken legend along with Sosin and Curcione, learned a lot from reading these guys’ stuff before the internet. Guess I’m old school. I believe it should be called the Kreh Knot.
I have seen the Kregh loop knot tied ," EXACTLY " Like you just preformed, and Also the tag being pushed through the very middle instead. There seems to be confusion . If you watch animated knots, showing the ," ABU GARCIA" Loop knot, it's what you just tied in same manner. So dis Famous Lefty Kregh push tag dead center, or through the Edge as you did? Maby we will never know. I have done break tests , doing both ways; see no strength difference.
May sound crazy, but you only need to go around twice. I have used only this knot when using a leader, which is 95% of the time, with no failure. The most I portent part is to always go the same way through the over-hand knot.
Yep, in fact I only use 1 turn around the main line, never had the knot fail. Those extra turns do nothing to affect the pinch point so I can't see how they make it any stronger and just make it bulkier.
Ok , perhaps I'm mistaken .. but you're worried about a teeny tag end of line getting caught on debris all the while there's an extremely sharp hook point just behind it ? Yeah , I've been fishing for over 50 years with flies .. never gave that a second thought !
Nope that is the no slip loop knot that rapala claimed as there own "rapala" knot..hate seeing well known knots renamed for what ever reason, this is a no slip loop 100%
Love the big hook and fly line used! Super easy to see what's going on.
I trust in the perfection looped fly. It's never failed me. This looks solid too!

I use that knot on flies all the time, Thanks for sharing.
Nice presentation

Thanks, this actually helped me.
Interesting knot but how well does it work with nylon line ?
Excelente trabajo 👏
Thank YOU 😊
How do I tie this with a double nymph rig? I need both my nymphs to have this loop in a straight line.
I thought the tag end was supposed to point toward the fly?
How is this any different from the normal Non Slip Loop Knot?
I also use it ,however if you are casting heavy flies such as Clauser minnows, I wouldn't recommend it. The line continuously rubs on the eye of the hook, and eventually frays and breaks.
What is the difference between this and the No slip mono loop?
Looks the same to me.
None

The fact that adding Kreh to the title of the video adds searchability...
I also know this as the no slip mono. great knot

The world knew this as rapala knot. 😅

It is kinda hard to do with 6 pound test
try it with frozen hands!😂

It looks more like a reverse clinch knot

If you leave a bigger loop, just be sure the loop is not bigger than your fly or the fly can come off during casting.
what???? lol. No it won't
@@Waty8413 your right, thinking of something else….. derp me
Why isn't the bowline knot used ?
Probably because it becomes undone or the strength of the knot
@@shack109 In 70 years of tying a bowline knot anywhere I can use it, which is almost anywhere, I have yet to see one untie itself or fail.

Tied incorrectly.
which step is incorrect? so i don't mess up. thanks
@@BROWLANDROSS After passing the line through the lure he went into the wrong side of the first loop. It should continue around in the same direction.
