This knot along with many other items of instruction/advice carries over nicely into traditional bait-casting and spinning fishing techniques. Went yesterday on my local river and caught a 3lb smallie using this knot to "liven up" my bitsy tube. Used this instead of a standard cinch knot. Thanks, Brian!
Neat little knot Brian. A down side of click type glasses is that you need two hands to put them on, sometimes one of those hands is already employed. Thanks for all the tutorial videos. I have been fishing for 70 years but just starting out on fly fishing (2 days only), and I am loving it.
That is basically a Rapala knot without the final step. Thanks for the tip about the loop length. I had never heard that tip before. Very useful. Awesome as usual.
Thank you for responding to my email about saltwater knots and thank you for the video on how to tie the knot you recommended!!!! The flies I ordered from your shop look great and I can't wait to put it all together in Baja in a couple of weeks!!!!
That is a great knot to use I first saw this knot years ago on the back of a Rapala Crankbait package. They called it the Rapala Knot lol they too recommend it with their crankbaits for better swimming action. Thank you so much for this channel and the great content I am learning a lot about fly fishing and I love it.
Saw another channel do a break test with various number of twists and just three seemed to be the sweet spot. Actually showed any more than that showed lower break point.
Another terrific tutorial ! THANKS Brian ! Im also familiar with that knot and much prefer it to the clinch knot for most any bait . Reason being clinch knots have failed me too many times . Loop or palamar and uni are my most used .
With this knot you can run line through the eye of the hook before you tie it. With perfection I don’t think you can. Perfection is for making an empty loop at the end of a line.
Thanks for watching. Not sure on that but our sense is that he would have shown that if he felt it was beneficial. You are welcome to contact him directly through the shop and ask.
Would this loop knot make for a better loop to loop connection instead of the perfection loop? The tag ends of the perfection loop exit at 90 degrees whereas with this one they lie alongside the mainlines thereby not snagging any debris... Thanks again for all the useful tutorials.
@@Madriveroutfitters thanks for the prompt reply. Appreciate the feedback. No problem at all without an anchor point; I used a screw driver. I live in South Africa and like to follow what our international counterparts are doing. I had this knot fail on a loop to loop connection but not where I would have expected. It failed at the knot and not the loop ends. Further testing proved this conclusively. I then tried the surgeons knot and spider hitch to create the loops and both these worked much better. Didn't really feel like tying the bimini which is the ultimate but I'm happy with the spider hitch. Stay well.
There's a lot this video left out. It does make a difference which way the line comes up through the overhand knot and on the return as well. The RUclips channel Salt Strong has good tutorials for this loop knot
Not sure about that one. You’d have to contact the shop directly and they could answer. Feel free to call or email them and they will be happy to help.

Thanks for watching. He has a cool technique of doing the clics with one hand. Stay tuned for that!!!

Thanks Brian, I've learned yet another new knot from you.

Tim and Eric fly fishing. Great Job!
Thanks for watching.
learned something new... perfection loop been a standby but will try the non-slip loop knot.
Let us know how it goes!
Excellent video as usual. I know it takes time. But for us denizens...priceless. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching. Much more to come.
HA! That informercial for clic was great!
Thanks for watching. He can't do anything without those any more these days.
This is great, thanks for the tutorial. Added to my playlist of "helpful fly fishing videos"

Thanks for watching. If a clinch knot is failing you though, you are doing something wrong.
Love this knot.... it will be on my top list now !
Thanks for watching!
That's a cinch knot to an overhand knot. Amazing.
Thanks for watching.
Came for the knot, subscribed for the clic glasses ad
Thanks for being here and thanks for watching.
Had never seen that knot before, excellent video!
We appreciate you being here.
Great idea using the christmas ball hanger for demo purposes.
Thanks for watching!
I use this knot when there is no split ring on the lure
Very Well demonstrated
Bless yah
Thanks for being here.
Good video pal. I’m guessing you would favour this particular knot over the perfection loop
Junior J Thanks! We don’t discriminate against other knots though. They are all useful but Brian uses this often.
Mad River Outfitters No worries thanks guys.

Always a good video! Thanks!!
Appreciate that. Thanks for watching.
Great knot. Any benefits to using this instead of a perfection loop for streamers?

Have never heard of anyone using it but you could try. Might be hard to tie without an anchor point though.

When twisting the line does it matter what direction, away from you or towards you
NKFF Webmaster Not with this knot but we usually recommend that you wrap away from yourself. Just like fly tying.
Thanks

Would you recommend non slip loop knot for dry flies in trout fishing?
Sure, give it a shot.
Like butter
#likebutter
Mad River Outfitters oh. Sorry. I keep on forgetting to pound sign stuff. I’m #oldschool.
Would you use this knot for woolly buggers and leeches?
Sure, any streamer.
How does this compare with perfection loop?
Different application.
Is this knot stronger then a figure 8 knot?
Not sure about that one. You’d have to contact the shop directly and they could answer. Feel free to call or email them and they will be happy to help.
I don't need glasses but bought a pair of Clic glasses.
Brian is a pretty good salesman? Eh?
This knot is not just for fly fishing either. I use it on crankbaits, jerkbaits, etc.
This knot can be used most anywhere a "knot" is needed. Very true.
those clickers
Life savers! Thanks for watching.
11 people must really hate loop knots. I'm not one of them.
Kinda strange eh? It's ok though....haters make us famous!!!!!

BAM!!
