My mom has arthritis in her hands and she would love these! Fiddling with boiled eggs not only takes her 5+ minutes to deshell, but also causes lots of pain. Tbh, all of these “weird” gadgets are super helpful for those who are disabled
Look at the "eggxactpeel eggshell peeler" on amazon. I purchased one for a friend that has severe arthritis and she says it helps. Then again, you could show your mom the old table roll/then dishtowel method of removing the eggshell. Roll the egg on the table to heavily crack it like Emmy did and then scrub at it while it's wrapped in a dishtowel.
Opening the tops, opening the oil, closing the oil, cracking the eggs, closing the top.....then opening again and then having to wash. Save your mother's hands and do not get these for her hahaha
I always think about that when I see these type of gadgets
For me it’s useless, but for those who have trouble doing delicate tasks like this I imagine it’s great for them!
This is such a good point!
@@Gingergent07 I already have gadgets because of arthritis to help with opening/closing tops/lids (all different sizes) so the only thing on your list that wouldn't be covered would be the cracking of the egg. That I can do much easier on a non-hard boiled egg than having to crack afterwards and picking the shell off. Also, depending on the size if it's a bigger item as compared to a smaller one then I can handle it with my bare hands instead of needing a gadget to open/close things. So in reality, her mom might be perfectly fine with these things even with the opening/closing of the tubs and cracking of the egg depending on her circumstance and limitations.
You know it’s REALLY bad when Emmy calls something gross. 😂
That whole gadget is gross, people are adding chemicals to the eggs using it! Like why would anyone want to do that?! Eww
Diva Cup lolol...
Anon Emus omg I didn’t even think of that, but it totally is a diva cup!!
Was looking for that comment. Knew I wasn't the only one like "DIVA CUP!!!!"
Anon Emus no you didn’t!😂
😂😂 I totally wondered if anyone has tried to use this as a menstrual cup.
@@katelynbrown98 But it's SO BIG!?! O.O!!!
You are very brave for eating that traumatized lemon.
Hahaha
😂😂😂
XD
The lid was obviously not on correctly and water leaked in.
I wish people would remember things like this can help people with disabilities. This particular item is kind of flawed, but having a contraption that I can crack an egg into so I don’t need to peel the egg would be nice. I’ve got a lot of pain in my hands and wrists, and they sometimes seize. If this was a bit of a better product and I could get more then four of them, I would definitely like to use it for boiling eggs.
good point aqona
but now i wonder if the work to wash that thing would hurt more?
You can actually but hard boiled eggs already cooked and shelled. I agree with someone also saying washing these would hurt too unless in dishwasher.!
Not being evil here, but have you considered an egg poacher? If the goal is hard cooked eggs, an egg poacher is just the thing. You don't have to have a plastic shell, the eggs slide out of the cups easily and while they're not egg shaped, they are perfectly portable.
Looks like the eggs from Aliens.
Just noticed the “Does Is Work” in the intro. Made me giggle
Lol same
AHAHAHAHAHA.. because of that I looked back on the intro again..
😃
I use egglets to make little bite-sized omelettes. The trick is to use less water. You want it to sit in the water but not float. It is more of a steam and they stand upright.
Didn't think about this. Thanks!
Tiny su vide!!
You can use a mug, and cook it for about a minute in the microwave too. If you like small omelettes. 🙂
@@vickymc9695 I was going to mention that, you beat me to it.
I used to work in an afc home and I had my clients build their own mug omelettes a few times. It was a neat activity for them, plus they were able to personalize them a lot easier than I could have if I were just cooking omelettes.
Hello Emmy, In defence of the little Egglette (LOL)
, I purchased the Egglettes about 2 months ago, I love them. I only. Spray a tiny bit of cooking spray in the bottom and wipe it well around with my finger. Then I put in the egg, we have not tried adding anything or stirring the egg, tighten the top, put in boiling water and We Put a Lid On. Then turn the heat to med so it continues to boil and set the timer for 10 minutes. I take them out and open them carefully because they are hot. I get a perfect medium soft boiled egg, every time. An extra 2 minutes makes it hard boiled. And our eggs look pretty good no dimples on the bottom. Washing is a breeze, no residue in the egglette.
I only add salt and pepper to the eggs before boiling them, which is another thing I like about using these, but I've never tried making little omelettes, so far.
That omelet egg looks really disturbing lols
I know, right?!
And I'm not sure it needed putting in iced water. I don't cool my regular omelettes before eating them?
@@emmymade Emmy I am sorry but have you ever tried to do a whistle note
Like mariah Carey and ariana
Like really really your voice can reach it up
It's terrifying! 😂
You had alien eggs, and the omelette was like an alien brain. O.o
I feel like a lot of items like this are probably invented by or for differently abled folk. Of course for an able bodied person, these devises seem convoluted or unnecessary, but some people *can't* peel a hard boiled egg, and for them, this might be the easier, faster option.
We got these for my aunt. Her vision is kind of like swiss cheese. She can see the egg, she can peel the egg, but she can't tell if all of the shell has come off. They take a little bit of experimenting, but they work well once you figure them out.
My favorite way to cook eggs lately has been in my rice cooker; steaming eggs to a hard boil takes like 20 minutes but the shells just sliiiiide off. I love it.
This would be good for me in honesty. I have issues with numbness and pain in my hands and sometime I can't peel boiled eggs... Or hold a piece of paper 😅
Carpal tunnel?
Yep
I JUST commented about this. They should be a better product if they can help people with disabilities! If they suck for able bodied people, they suck for those of us with limitations. I wish they’d try harder.
Pretty sure there are better methods.
God bless you! I wish you the best. I would like to see more RUclipsrs review items that would help people with disabilities. Taras Kul (Crazy Russian Hacker) reviews a lot of kitchen utensils that help people with disabilities.
🥚 I once cooked eggs inside a plumbing pipe in an attempt to make a homemade *"long egg"* for a video....it looked disgusting, didn't work very well, and everyone hates that video haha. I'd love to see Emmy tackle trying to make a long egg and then perhaps put it in a gala pie or something like that! She'd definitely do much better than I did - there's a guy here on YT who has a good video on making one...just don't use mine as an example lol.
I believe there is a device that does this and Emmy made a video on it. If my memory serves correct, it worked pretty good.
James O
The one machine that squirts the egg out in a tube?
James O I saw that, that’s the Rollie! It doesn’t make a proper long egg, because the purpose of them is to get nice uniformly sized slices that still maintains the inner yolk and outer white shape. The Rollie unfortunately I think just mixes em all in one tube.
+Lindsay Daly I see what you are suggesting. The only thing that comes to mind is small pvc but I would be a little leary of the plastic. I'm sure there are objects that would do the job proper.
You can try a heat safe bag. You crack the eggs into the bag and mix. Put in boiling water and it cooks in a roll kinda.
We’ve got 2 sets of egglettes and love them. We hate dealing with the shell after hard boiling them. We’ve never had any fall over in the pan. And we use cooking spray and then rub it around inside to make sure it’s all coated. And we don’t dump out any excess. And we never have any leftover to store in the fridge. Lol. Sorry... we love our egglettes.
Your dry, understated assessment of that "omlette" egg absolutely had me in stitches. I needed a good laugh today, thank you :) I have a feeling Ann Reardon would call that one a "never." Speaking of Ann Reardon, it would be fun to see the two of you do a collaboration sometime!
She missed out on describing what it really looked like though: A brain!
I don’t think you mentioned it but if you use the cooking spray “Pam” they come out like a breeze. I’ve done many trial and errors and that was the best method for me. Also some food for thought is 1) it helps for some people who have motor control issues and physically can’t peel eggs and 2) for people like myself who can’t peel eggs for my life. Also like Emmy did, you need to make sure to dip the eggies in water or else they won’t pop out smooth either.
Truly this is my favorite kitchen gadget and I wouldn’t base your opinion on one video alone.
I cant peel eggs either the shell sticks to the egg
Anyone else like to see what the auto captions think she’s saying when she gives thanks for the food? So far, I’ve been blessed with:
1) Eat the lucky moss
2)At the dock you mom
3) At the duck you must
😂🤣😩
Sarah Dalton there’s one where it says ‘eat the sucky trees’ 😂😂
the closest english version is praise for what you are about to eat ....
Emmy have you tried an electric egg cooker. It is my most favorite small appliance. It cooks quickly and only uses about a tablespoon of water. I have never had a problem peeling them (regardless of how fresh they are) with just running them under a little cool tap water so they are easier to handle. It has two additional trays to make omlete or poached. I really love it. It cooks 6 eggs at a time. I think the brand is Presto. I highly recommend
The omelette egg looks so funny and when you said funky lemon omg I’m laughing so hard lol 😅😅😅😅😅😅
The floating and falling over aspect of these put me off, then I tried a variation of a steamed egg technique on America's Test Kitchen. Prep the Egglette per instructions, but put in the water only up to the middle of the Egglette, NOT egg level. Put the lid on the pot while boiling, and follow their timing. The whole egg will be cooked, they won't float or fall over.
Yaaasssss!!! My night is so much better now with you!
🙌🙌🙌
Thank you VERY much for the hard boiled egg recipe. After years of trying, I was finally able to make eggs that were easy to peel and were the most delicious hard boiled eggs I've had this century.
I have the worst luck pealing boiled eggs. Old or new eggs. I tried your method and have to say you saved my sanity. Thank you so much for showing us your technique.
Boiling eggs in heavily salted water works every time for easy peel eggs.
Omg imagine making an all yolk boiled egg????

Oh my goodness Emmy thank you so much for the tip on how to easily peel a perfect boiled egg! Just tried it myself and the shell came off so smoothly, cleanly, and easily made it so much easier and quicker for me as a blind person!! ILY💜💜
Woohoo! Glad to know this works for everyone!
Your "that's gross" about the oily water is possibly the most negative thing I've ever heard you say in a video! You weren't even that negative about the dried giant centipede.
“Squeezing stress balls.” :P
was there some innuendo I'm not getting, or...?
Alan Pollock no,lol, check the description box of each video. ;)
Lol
Thank you. Best boiled eggs ever! Your way, not the contraption way. Thank you Emmy. Always good lessons!
I bought the knock off version of these on Wish and I don't mind them at all, mine were also alot rounder so it looks more natural.
But here are a few suggestions.. :)
you had too much water in the pan, they are supposed to sit flat on the bottom.
I also found you should cook them for an additional 5 min for a fully cooked egg.
I used spray oil for mine and they released very nice!
I don't care for egg yolk so I use them to make boiled egg whites!
Why would you pour oil down a sink...?
That's what I was thinking! Never do that lol
Sorry if this sounds ignorant, but what do you do with oil then? I'm not trying to sound arrogant, I'm seriously just confused. I pour oil down sinks. HAVE I BEEN MAKING A MISTAKE??
Yes It gets cold then hardens. Makes your pipes gummed up.
@@aen9321 plumbers say it's going to clog your pipes and ruin your plumbing. I personally put mine into an empty jar that I discard once it's filled.
I thought that was just grease/ animal fat... some oils dont harden in your fridge or cupboard- (depends on the type of oil)
I hate eggs that don't peel perfectly :( It ruins the nice smoothness of the exterior and just kills the egg. I've tried both methods of boiling the egg (right from the start in cold water, and adding it to already boiling water), and the latter always works amazingly!
I have a little Dash Rapid Egg Cooker and it works great! I haven't had any trouble with peeling. :)

S C our of the Cloaca- which serves as the butt, vagina, and end of the urinary tract. A 3 in one... hole.
I have these and I love them! If you use cooking Spray..nothing sticks!! In the instructions it says to be sure and run a spoon around the top of the cooked egg to release the suction. They seriously pop right out perfectly leaving No egg behind. I wouldn't use them for deviled eggs simply because of the aesthetics..but for chopped eggs for salads etc..perfect!! That being said..I cannot wait to try your technique Emmy for perfectly boiled eggs!! Will come in handy for the holidays when I make about a million deviled eggs!! ❤🥚🥚🥚🥚
Love your videos Emmy!!
The amount of people that are completely disregarding the fact that there's people who CANT peel hardboiled eggs is really disheartening.
@Donkey Punch Knock-Out bitch get over yourself. Obviously no one has to eat boiled eggs. But for people who can't alone, I'd say it's pretty nice to be able to do it without needing assistance. The only "sNoWfLaKeS" are the people bitching about a product they aren't obligated to buy, and complaining about people pointing out that these products DO have a purpose.
@@giulianabarbagallo1709 I agree. But I think the first reply to my comment is a good example that there's people who just don't care.
@@giulianabarbagallo1709 yes that's very true! Just sad that there's actually people who feel that way. I also agree with your first comment, I don't think all these people just don't care, it's very easy to not see why someone would need one especially if you have never first hand experienced a disability that would limit you ability to use your hands or have someone close to you that does.
@Donkey Punch Knock-Out LMAOOOO I always think it's hilarious when people like you talk about how much you "trigger" people when you don't really trigger anyone. You just tell yourself that so you don't feel bad about people calling you out for being a shitty person.
@Donkey Punch Knock-Out also just a couple things, I'm definitely not a liberal, and also definitely not an sjw. Not everyone that has valid points that piss you off are liberals and sjws. Maybe your thought process being like that is the reason you think you "trigger" so many people. It's because you're so closed minded that the thought of someone having a different opinion to you is enough to make them your enemy. I promise you they're not. Stop being a dumbass.

Yay! Another egg video! Great job as always Em. Keep em comin’ :)
Squeezing stress balls :)
I coated egglet inside with. tablespoon of melted butter made with canola oil. Boiled egglet and the egg easily popped out, while leaving zero egg inside. Clean up is fill egglet with soapy water, put in same pot cooked in and also filled with soapy water. Boil pot and egglet, rinse out egglets and pot with clean water. Same as cleaning a pot after making hard boiled egg in the shell. After egglet cooks, there may or may not be a little water in the egglet, but you start with a clean pot, and you don't have any egg factory dirt on a shell, so the remaining bit of water isn't really unclean after boiling, it's similar to making soup in the pot. Never tried an omelet. Note: Tightening egglet lid will help keep water out. And when shaking egglet to coat inside with butter, cover tiny vent hole in lid with finger to keep butter from coming out. I think using egglets and boiling eggs in the shell are of equal work/cleanup. I do both. But eggletts do eliminate peeling the shell, the ice water, but don't compare to the portability and convenience of say, taking hard boiled eggs in the shell on a thousand mile cross country bicycle trip. And for people that physically have trouble peeling an egg shell, I highly recommend them.

I figured out, through trial and error and have been making sunny side up eggs in the nukrawave since forever. The trick is in the preparation and how you cook it. So to make 1 or 2 sunny side up eggs in the microwave, melt a teaspoon of butter in a mug and swir melted butter from the bottom of the mug to up the sides as high as possible without spilling it out of the mug. Then drop your 1 or 2 raw eggs into the buttered mug, add a little salt and pepper to taste and cover with a paper towel that will wrap itself around the bottom at least on 2 of the 4 corners (or if paper towel is not wide enough, secure over mug with a rubber band... *NEVER USE FOIL IN LARGE QUANTITIES IN ANY MICROWAVE UNLESS MANUFACTURER CLAIMS THIS IS SAFE TO DO OR NECESSARY TO COOK CERTAIN MEATS, ETC.*) Then cook on medium power (for a 1200 to 1250 watt microwave) for at least 1 minute and possibly 2, depending on the power of your machine. While this is happening, toast 1 or 2 pcs of bread, and butter (or spread mayo onto the toast if making an egg sammich,) use wrapped, processed singles cheese if you want, (you will hear an initial "pop" from the oven while cooking and stop microwave after SECOND "pop" is heard while cooking... ((A 3rd "pop" could mean its exploded and you'll have a mess in the oven to clean up))) After second "pop," using the mug's handle, remove egg mug from oven and take off napkin to insure egg(s) cooked all the way through, then pour egg(s) from mug onto prepared toast for a sammich or on plate to have with a piece or 2 of toast. Seems complicated, but once you get the hang of it, you can make these, including prep time for bread and cheese as a sammich in about a total of 5 minutes. It's delicious 😋

Is boiling an egg as-is better than putting out more unnecessary plastic waste in the world? Yep, that's a puzzler. Seriously now - I appreciate devices that make cooking easier for people with disabilities, but this thing just adds more nonsense, more effort, and more stuff making up landfills. Let's not.
@Nicole Legitimate criticism of useless products is not "negative". Endorsing these useless gadgets is wasteful, especially when the world is struggling with climate issues and waste problems. Eggs come perfectly prepared for boiling as they are.
@Nicole "can't hard boil a scrambled egg" I'm at a loss with what you mean here. An omelette?
Nicole
Get an egg poacher. Scramble your egg, then pour it into the cup, place over boiling water, and voila! Egg poachers are made of metal, not plastic.
@Nicole Man its idiots like you that are ruining our planet. If you cant handle a simple thing like an egg without adding unnecessary plastic to the mix i feel bad for you man. Also get out of here with your negativity bs, its called common sense.
@@Yaspis Please. Japan contributes so much paper and plastic waste with all of their "cute and convenient" packaging that has no benefit whatsoever. Like all of those Japanese Kit Kats that Emmy sometimes eats, each damn stick gets its own plastic wrapper and cardboard box. Yesss I'm early! I always love seeing your videos
As someone with arthritis, I feel like having to stick my hand into the cavity to clean it defeats the purpose of boiling it without a shell. If you crack the eggs just a bit before putting them into cold water, it helps them to shrink back down inside of the shell, so it's easier to peel.
my husband and i were gifted this gadget for xmas and we have yet to use it even though i make soft boiled eggs for breakfast a lot. i peel eggs the way you do and ive never had any trouble, but i can see how this would be handy for some people.

I HATE EGGS! But this has been super helpful for me when I make eggs for my mom. She loves hardboiled eggs and she wants me to peel them while their hot. She has early Alzheimer's, and to keep both of us happy we started using the egglettes for her hot hard boiled eggs.

Love from Denmark... you are amazing Emmy...
My mom bought these- I’m not really an egg person. But now we also use them for sauce containers when I take my lunch for work and bc they screw on they don’t spill. I would literally buy more just for that function.
A tip I learnt from my mother for peeling eggs, is once you have cracked them, just use a teaspoon to run under the shell to get it off. So much easier than picking it off with your fingers.
Yeah... I saw an ad for these today and I thought it looked awesome, but seeing here I wouldn't do it. Hearing your trick for getting eggs to peel easily is good enough.
