Diamond district say the mars elegoo 2 is not good to cast pieces, or at least that's what they say in Miami. Casting gold in miami is no where near 3.00 on top of the gram as well, they charge way more. any recommendations to which company could do $3 on top of the gram? I made a website and sold 2 items but my profits are so low due to the casting costs
Thank you! Wondering, is this the best way to produce Cubans? Opposed to forging? The videos I've seen of Cubans made by forging, the finished product appears to have tighter, flatter, stereotypical Cuban link look. This one looks a little off, no disrespect- I did see someone else say the links are crooked & the chain doesn't hang straight. Is that related to casting or assembly quality? Thanks!
Bro I’ve been going back to your videos from years ago and gained sooo much knowledge I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this drop I would love to see more stuff like this!!! And if you have recommendations on who to use while in the process that would be dope
When you get ya gold casted its best to already have holes and prongs casted. That way you dont lose gold when they drill in to set diamonds. But setting diamonds cost $1-$2 per stone depending your relationship
depends on what city you are in too. if its big jewelry district then u can get $1-2/stone. if its smaller market it can be up to $5/stone @@howiephomsouvan6820
I think your first jewelry manufacturing video is all I needed to start my journey to becoming a jeweler I’ve been building my own workshop and casting set up so I won’t have to outsource any of the work I got the 3-D printers polishers Stones and everything now I need this very expensive air filtration system to catch the smoke when I run my Oven in my apartment so no one thinks there’s a fire😂 they’re usually around 2500 bucks I found one for 1600 bucks tho I have a bunch of silver I’m going to buy a kilo and some more stones and I need rhodium plating solution I’m going to get some platinum plating solution and start my jewelry business making handmade jewelry One day I’ll be able to get into the Watch market🙏🙏🙏 I appreciate your videos keep doing what you do bro
I am so interested in this. What would have made this video the definitive starter for aspiring jewelers is if you put out a realistic starting investment cost. Printers, resins, tools, and low to middle of the pack metal cost by gr. Essentially just kind of give a rough cost of what it takes to get this ball moving. I'm guessing around 1 to 2k. I'll be messaging you probably by months end for more in depth questions, but I love what you got here. 1 question I have now is, does the resolution quality of the 3d printer matter at all? Would a higher resolution be helpful in creating a smoother surface that will in turn lose less metal during the polishing process, or would that be inconsequential? Would a higher resolution 3d printer help with making a higher quality build of whatever jewelry you are making? I got the funds to invest (maybe another week or so) but I really want to make sure I go about this the best way possible.
Hey Slava thanks so much for all the videos and need help here. All the casting houses I called in LA said they don’t accept individual castors, will only deal with businesses. What do I do?? (I only called does showing up in person make a difference?)
@@SlavaTVOfficial Haven't started yet, I'll order the printer Friday. I'm not too concerned about the pricing as I am about who to go to for each process and does professional work!
You gotta dispose of the alcohol resin responsibly, dumping un cured resin alcohol slurry down the drain is a no no. First cure the resin slurry with your UV light, then filter it and instead of dumping it, why not reuse it for next time.
Thank you for this comment. I should not have poured it like that,. The proper way to do it is to expose it to sunlight and let the resin settle and harden and then drain it.
Im not sure if you're familiar with my videos but the purpose of my channel is to show regular people how to start businesses. Especially young people. There are a ton of videos on RUclips of people showing how to make cuban chains by hand with factory equipment. That's not practical for the average person. If you own a business you don't make anything by hand. everything is outsourced. The owners of Gucci don't make bags themselves, a factory does it
There are two things fundamentally wrong with your 3D print process: 1) Alcohol does not cure 3D prints, it just washes the excess resin off. After washing the printed parts they need to be cured with UV light to harden fully. 2) Uncured resin is harmful to the you and the environment and should NEVER be washed down the drain! You can reuse IPA many times and the uncured resin can be filtered by exposing to UV light, which will cause it to lump together and sink - then just pour through a filter to get perfectly clean IPA. Cured resin can be disposed of as general waste. Please learn how to work with these materials properly for the sake of your own health and the people and environment around you!
some resins, especially castable resins, don't require further curing. The resin he used in the video doesn't need it. Make sure you know what you are talking about before you correct people. I do agree with your second point.
Saving my butt off to purchase one but the exchange rate in South Africa is about $20 to R1 and my salary is only R2000/month and then I still have to pay all my accounts. After about 3 days I have to watch what I can buy for food. That is how rotten it is in South Africa
The chain you made is very rough and low quality. Doesn’t hang straight, bad polish the links are wavy, etc. I highly recommend everyone making chains to pay higher for more skilled labor to get a better result

How do price jewelry?
Normally you would price at least double what it cost to make. Chains are priced per gram above spot
Okay thanks bro good looking for sure a supporter
Is there a way you can make a rope chain with the elegoo
Have you seen the VogMan version? He makes it all himself. Could save you even more.
So after you finish the chain, how much are you supposed to sell it for? On average. ?
It depends on the weight of the chain, but usually around 10 grams above spot
