I love how you got straight to the point, other ones just go on and on about how to look cute and I'm like bruh come on I'm leaving Thursday not in a year. Thanks you've earned a subscription
+Just Being Random Thanks for watching! I'm glad you found it helpful. :)
No problem I'm about to leave for a cruise Thursday so this is really helpful thanks
Loved this video! I always pack all kinds of over the counter medications too, and I had all mine in a 10"x7.5"x7" box and you inspired me to consolidate it into a smaller bag! Thanks so much!
Also, we always carry an over the door shoe organizer with clear pockets to keep small items off the counter (sunglasses, some toiletries, camera, etc, etc). It definitely helps to keep things tidy!
I had taken a trip to New Zealand a few years ago and now planning a trip to Alaska on the Ferry. Your tips are spot on. In fact I'm glad I found your video to remind me of what to take.
For holding travel documents, I use one of those plastic folders that people sometimes use to hold coupons only it's larger. It has tabs that I label: hotel, airline, cruise boarding passes, luggage tags, etc. I take a Vera Bradley tote bag as a carryon and it fits well in one of the side pockets.
I'm taking my 1st cruise and this video has been a great help. Thank you 😊
my husband and i got into cruising BECAUSE of your videos and omg, yes!! these items are ALL must haves. thanks again for posting!! :*
I loved your video. I pack all of that for cruises except the extra outlet. Great idea. One thing I always bring is a Sharpie pen. It's great for labeling drink cups, zip locks, room keys, etc. Also, we always bring a lanyard and have our room keys hole punched. Having the keys on the lanyard helps to not lose them and keeps them together since we usually have multiple rooms.
I'm a well seasoned cruiser and thought I had thought of everything. Very helpful video. Thanks!
Thank you for these valuable traveling cruise tips. We love you, Miss Crystal!
Today I am going on my first Carnival Cruise. I am using it as I pack, pausing. Thank you.
I like the blue tape idea on the suncreen! Great way to prevent spillage
Put it in a zip lock! I put all my toiletries in zip locks in case anything leaks
I also pack in a vacuum bag! Does not change the weight, but it allows you to get more things into your suitcase! Then, when it is time to pack for disembarkation..just borrow the vacuum from your room steward!
I have started bringing magnets with me on my cruises. Most of the doors are metal so if you bring some magnets with you, you can put your cruise itinerary on the door between the rooms. We have used it to hold our excursion tickets, our daily itinerary, and if you decorate your door (as some people do) you can order a sheet of magnets (Amazon) with sticky backs to put on whatever decoration you are using for the door. For instance, our last cruise was to Hawaii - so we decorated our door with a hula girl, some totems and flower leis around it. The magnets held them in place and did no damage to the door. We have also laminated an piece of paper and put that and a dry erase magnetic marker on the door, this is great if you are traveling with other people so you can leave notes for each other. This worked great when we traveled with our kids (teens/young adults) and had separate rooms. We could leave notes for the kids with times to be ready for dinner, where to meet us and what time. It worked really well, especially on Carnival when they were always busy!
We leave next week and am so fortunate to have seen all the wonderful tips you've given. Thank you so much for taking the time to do it!
Great advice for people like me who haven't been on a cruise as of
Loved this. Informative and quick. You can't beat a no nonsense approach.
I find that empty linen bags (bed sheets, for example) are great to store things you need to travel with because you can find things you need quickly since they are transparent. Thank you for your ideas. Lucie C.
Hey no one said to bring this, but I saw a woman film her room. In her bathroom was an over the door shoe organizer with about 20 pockets/ she had hair dryer/ tooth paste/ shampoo/ shoes in the bottom. These rooms are small/ and what a way to get stuff out of the way.....So I went out and got one....I thought that was a neat add on....
+Paul Rock In my 20+ cruises, I've never felt the need to bring this. Maybe I'm more organized than most? I know people do this but I find it totally unnecessary.
Some cruise lines don't allow them and will bill you for any scratches or damage done to the doors.
On my last cruise my shower gel bottle fell to the bathroom floor in rough weather and the plastic cracked. This might have stopped that happening.
I use the shoe holder in our room on every cruise, not just for our bathroom items but it also holds my curling iron, my tennis shoes and flip flops. If you put a stocking over the hooks that go over the door it does not scratch the door.
@@elaineconnor6065 by a stocking, do you mean a sock?
Thank you so much for this video! We are going on a cruise this summer for the first time and this was so helpful!
Great vid !! I’m trying not to pack to much because I’m sharing a very small room with a relative who I don’t really know but this really helped me with the essentials
These are such great essential tips for what to pack on a cruise, yes bringing sunscreen is soo smart because buying it on board is sooooo expensive! Great video!
OMG, you are just like me, I cruise quite a bit too. I carry all kinds of stuffs along too, my family always say I have a magic bag. Whenever someone needs something they would say: Ask Victoria.
What kind of things do you take Victoria? First time cruiser end of May this year.
I'm packing for my cruise around New Zealand. I've been on lots of cruises but I always watch your cruise packing videos to make sure I don't forget anything. =0)
Yay!!! We're going cruising again (I always feel like I'm right along with you). I really enjoyed this so much. I'm always so impressed with how organized you are. Much love! Melissa
***** We're looking forward to seeing a new ship and sharing that with you all. I think we travel so much that it starts to make you better organized. ;) Have a great weekend, Melissa! xo
These tips are great. I've made my list from this video. I am a very organized person and your tips are a big help. Thanks
I just made my list also after watching this video. My husband and I leave in Nov for our cruise.
This is, by far, the most comprehensive and helpful video I've watched on packing for your cruise. Miss Crystal, thank you so much for the awesome tips and the links you provided! VERY appreciated!
Thank you so much! Even though I filmed this a few years ago and we've taken many cruises since, I've found the info to still be the same. Thank you for watching and I'm glad you found it helpful! :)
Great video. My husband and I cruise a lot and I use the same travel clock. I also use it for alarms for morning spa appointments. It's much more reliable than a wake up call and I don't like draining my cell phone battery. I also use wipes to clean the drawers and their handles. Those are always missed by cleaning staff.
I bought the extra power strip for the Hawaiian Cruise I was just on. It work out great. Thank you for suggesting it
Thanks for the tip on putting tape on the spray sunscreen. Last year my husband, sister, niece and I flew to Orlando for a cruise out of Port Canaveral. We decided to check a duffle bag with shoes, sunscreen and other things. we had the sunscreen in a Ziploc bag but it came open and the sunscreen sprayed all over the inside of the bag. My husband's dress shoes got covered and the chemicals in the sunscreen caused the outer layer of the shoes to peel off in large areas. He had no choice but to wear them for formal night. Luckily they were black and his pants covered the top part of his shoes. He threw them away after the last formal night. Things happen, don't let it ruin your day/vacation! 😊
The travel tips we so awesome. Thank you. Our cruise will be a happier one now.
This was so helpful! My fiancé and I are taking a cruise for our honeymoon! While we've both been on cruises before it was with our families, and let's be honest our moms took care of the important stuff! lol. Thank you for making this, it will make packing so much easier for me when we go!!
+Erin Daugherty I'm glad you found it helpful!
This helped a lot getting prepped for my first cruise this summer
Great tips...one thing I have also found necessary to include in my luggage is a small roll of bubble wrap, This has saved many souvenirs from breaking ! They weigh nothing !
Since the cruise ship walls are made of metal/steel, I take magnetic hooks plus a shoe bag. The hooks are great for holding papers on the walls plus hanging up extra items.
Great tips. Even though we have cruised several times it's always good to hear new tips. My must have for cruising is a lanyard for our Seapass. It makes it easier for me to be hands free on the ship. :)
Genius idea -- pencil case with mesh pocket and then a enclosed pocket. Love it! I get so anal about our passports, and always find myself frantically going through my carry on to be TRIPLE sure that we have then. Awesome tip! Hadn't seen that before.
It was fun to watch your must haves, you are such an organization master!!
Whenever I leave the country, I'm so psycho about packing medications (pharmacy stuff). Benadryl, pepto, Advil, Imodium, etc. I'm so paranoid something will happen and they won't sell the same products I'm used to. My husband makes so much fun of me lol!
Seeing your system has inspired me to get dedicated bags for things instead of stuffing things in plastic baggies like I normally do!!
Thanks you have covered all the bases - a ziploc bag can also work for documents too in case you forgot to bring along a document holder.
Very helpful. I love the fan comment as well. Good idea!
Thanks this was really helpful! I'm a first time cruiser and pretty excited!
Can't wait to see the cruise vlogs!! I still go back and watch your old ones. The celebrity series you did was the first video of yours I watched and have enjoyed you ever since. I loved how you showed everything from your outfits and the room to your meals! It really makes you feel like you are right there with you. My husband and I usually cruise once a year we love it! Love waking up somewhere new :)
WifeandMommyLife We're the same, love waking up to new scenery each day. I'm glad you've enjoyed the videos!
I miss your cruise packing videos and this is a great update. And, i never new they made friction blocking bandaids!! Thats genius!
This was EXTREMELY helpful! I'm going on a cruise in November and this just really helped me think about stuff that I wouldn't have otherwise. Thanks so much for sharing!
xokferg894 I'm glad you found it so helpful! Have fun on your cruise! :)
Thanks! ***** :)
I leave this Thursday. :) *****
Thanks, you too! *****

1,
Nicely done. I hate the coffee onboard and don't appreciate waiting in line for special coffee. I love the instant Starbucks VIA pockets and never travel without them :)
We have travel wallets that hang around our necks with 3-4 different compartments that have come in real handy. Plus, we bring extra lariats and have cards punched at the front desk.
Using my cell phone for alarm clock and flashlight saves taking these seperately and less to pack.
+Ingrid Duane Yeah, we don't like doing that and usually lock up our phones for most of the trip. 😉
why do you lock them up? do cell phone work on ships for comunnicating with family members aboard?
Carol Lapham I too want to know this, haven't found the answer yet.
Maybe I will ask my carrier.
Usually cellphones do work but the charges are astronomical (at least in Europe!) Like $3 a minute. That's why it's usually suggested you keep them switched off on board.
A lot of people put their phones on airplane mode and lock them up so they don't have to worry about loosing them and won't get charged crazy prices for the data that will be flowing in/out if not on airplane mode (or at least the cell data turned off). I like having mine and use the cruise lines app and ship wifi (NOT cell data) to keep up with both time and what's going on around the ship. Some apps even let you book dinner reservations (depending on cruise line) for the specialty dinners. Just make sure your cell data is off or you may be surprised at your next bill. The ships wifi is local (unless you setup ahead of time to use their internet) to the ship and doesn't cost to use for their apps (at least part of the app, person to person communication piece usually cost extra).
I use the plastic containers that I get bed linens or curtains. It’s see through, sometimes has a small compartment to put passports in, and can be zipped. I save these and they come in many different sizes. For example, pillow case containers are perfect for one person. Best of all, it’s free. Thanks for your advice.
I also use the linen plastic bags. They work great for my toiletries, shoes, first aid kit, medicine bag, jewelry bag. They come in all size and they are recycled.
Karen Meyers ha ha I do the same. They come in handy for lots of things. Go us!
This was great! About to head away on our first cruise and you've given me so many fabulous ideas! Thank you
+Mum Central I'm glad you found it helpful. Enjoy your cruise!
My family and I have cruise on ten carnival cruises and I just realize that having a mini iron is helpful. I am always looking for ways to pack light, therefore, I find your information is on point. Thanks
Hi, actually clothing irons of any kind are prohibited on cruises. I'm surprised you haven't gotten it taken. Some cruise lines, Carnival is one, have laundry facilities where you can use the irons provided. Thank you for watching! :)
one thing most people don't do as far as I know my wife and I are the only ones but to tell or luggage from everyone else we go to Walmart and spend $1.00 to buy a bright colored bandana and tie it to our luggage it is very easy to tell ours from everyone elses
Learned my lesson, returned from a cruise last year. At my home airport someone took my luggage home. I had unusual luggage tag on my bag. Leaving for my next cruise this month, will be getting a ribbon for my bag.
James Ayers That's so smart! I wish I would've done that when we went on our cruise last year. Next time!
I'm guessing everyone doesn't just keep their own luggage and take it to their own rooms?? first time cruiser....in 13 days.
I buy bright and unusually patterned duct tape and place a strip right across the top of the suitcase(s). I've used this idea when I've traveled by plane or ship and it's really helped me to identify my bag from others. It comes off easily when I store my luggage and leaves no marks or sticky residue.
My comment might be a little late for you, but maybe it will help other first time cruisers. Getting on the ship isn't the problem. You print out tags that the cruise line has for you in your booking profile and end up leaving the luggage at curbside (like airline curbside check-in) and they bring it to your room. This helps make boarding quicker and less crowded. The problem comes when it's time to get OFF the ship when you get back. Depending on the cruise line, they either give you a numbered/colored tag or you go get a numbered/colored tag that tells you when to get off the ship. You place your luggage outside your cabin door the night before you arrive back in port (with the new tags on them). They "magically" take them and they end up off the ship in a warehouse type room grouped by the number/color of the tags on the luggage. Your luggage will (should) be in the right group, but may not all be right together. By putting something easily noticeable and different from others, you can pick it out easier from the rest of the luggage that may or may not look like yours.
I usually pack quite light but I do always pack TONs of medicines. Nothing worse than being caught without any when you're feeling poorly!
I am going on my first cruise in Feb 2017. I know I have a few months, actually a lot of months before I need to start wondering about packing and stuff. But since it's my first cruise my anxiety kicks in, and since I found your videos my anxiety has been down a little. I have been on trips lots before, but I always travelled thru airlines, so I really enjoy your cruise videos! And the outfit ones as well
+xxlovelaughlivexx20 I'm glad you find the videos helpful. Enjoy your cruise!
Generally good packing guide for travel. Thank you!
I agree wholeheartedly with the power strip, especially with the USB outlets!!!
IM 11 AND HAVE BEEN ON 9 CRUISES GOING ON 1 TOMMORROW SUPER EXITED!this will be the 10 cruise
I am getting ready to go on my first cruise in a few days. I have REALLY found your videos to be so helpful. Thank you for taking the time to help.

Thank you so much! We are going this coming New Years, you've mention so much i would have forgotten about.
Hannah Goyen Thank you for watching! I'm glad you found it helpful. Have fun on your cruise!
Thank you MS Crystal what I loved about your video is that all items are fairly small so you meet the purpose of showing us plus in an efficient space saving way..and I also like you love Vera Bradley bags. I use my medium cosmetic bag for all extra papers, keys, etc in my purse . I may add binoculars and small umbrella sometimes they are needed.
+Grace Yabar Yes, we always bring a small umbrella and sometimes binoculars if my Husband feels like it. :)
Well done! Thanks... it's been a lifetime ago I was on a cruise... great advice!
I have been on at least 15 cruises and remembered you did this video and the plug thing-y, I just ordered for an upcoming cruise (and used your link). Thanks for sharing.

+Dawn Stadler I'm glad you found it helpful! Have fun on your cruise! :)
" crazy smelling bathroom" lol you cracked me up :)
I just came back from a cruise. THANK YOU for the tips. The CLIPS were great for weighing the shower curtains down, as well as clipping snacks closed. Downy wrinkle spray was great as well, since irons weren't allowed on the ship.
+Clarissa Barra I'm glad you found it helpful! 😀
We are going on our 1st cruise on march 5 and Im so grateful for these tips!!

Thank you for this video! Taking our first cruise this weekend and this helped me be a little more prepared!
I'm happy you found it helpful. Have fun on your cruise!
awesome - thank you - many helpful hints. I would suggest removable commando hooks for the wall or inside the closet to create extra space.
Thank you so much for this video! I'm going on a cruise in May and half the things you mentioned I hadn't even thought of! Thank you for sharing 😊
+Yary Davila I'm glad you found it helpful. Have fun on your cruise!

Thank you for sharing your information and tips with me. It’s very helpful and you are awesome!! XoXo
This a great video. I packed 90% of what you did on your video. Thank you!
Very good video. You understand (and practice) the KISS system.
Speaking of doucments, I take a picture of everything with my phone just in case they get lost or stolen.
We actually keep copies of cards, passports, etc and lock in a safe. We do take pictures of our luggage.
I have pictures, as well. It's a great backup plan. Good tip!
I do this as well. It is "A Must" thing to do! Thanks
I take pics of my passport and keep with me when I go ashore.
@@pamelarising344 RIGHT!!
HI Crystal I pick up a see through envelope in the craft or stationary dept. Cost usually $1.00. I keep ALL my papers about my trip. Currently have 2 trips in the works. I have one for each trip,,,,in 2 colors,,,,one for each trip.
That's it... I'm booking a cruise. These are great tips that'd I'd never have though of.
Awesome video! Boarding my first cruise this weekend. You have amazing skin btw :)
im going to my very first cruise in july and this video was by far the most helpful. Thank you!!😊
I'm so glad you found it helpful! Enjoy your cruise! :)
We have a 'pad-folio' that we use for trips, we put the 'lose papers/documents' on the one side under the flap & it has a notepad for keeping notes of stuff but I liked the pencil pouch idea so we ordered one on amazon. For anyone using this idea, those pouches, the back pocket is big enough to also include a smaller sized notepad so put one of those and a pen in also because your always scribbling down notes here & there & this way you'll have a notepad to do it instead of having to scribble on the back sides of your important travel documents.
Great tips!!!! I work for a cruise line and learned new tricks!!!!!
Great video, My husband and I have been on several cruises before, but never thought to bring clips along. That's a great idea. Heading to Alaska in a few days. Thanks again...
Thank you for watching! I'm sure the clips will come in handy since it's daylight so late in Alaska this time of year. Have a good cruise!
I liked this video, but I LOVED your other packing videos... You went more in depth. These videos are the reason I subscribed to your channel...
Dealo n Tarsha Farnell Thank you so much! By the way, I'm no longer posting on my second channel, where you probably watched the original cruise packing video. I have them all on a playlist though linked in this video. :) I purposely made this video more to the point of just must-have items because some may just be looking for that. Thank you for watching!
MissCrystal ... thank you so much for sharing this info. This will be my first cruise ever and this information is very helpful.
I’m glad you found it helpful. Enjoy your cruise! 😀
Sophisticated Mama Thank you for commenting! Have fun on your cruise! If you have any questions, feel free to email me. :)
MissCrystal hi I'm going on a cruise for the first time! I am so excited but can you tell me some tips on how to get around a cruise
MissCrystal is it scary Bc I'm going on a cruise in 3 Days and I'm scared plz answer 😳
HI Emily, Kay for your information there is nothing to be scared about. Most 1st timers go through that, but after studying the information everyone had a great time. Oh! Sorry you already had gone never mind. I hope you had a great time. Want to hear stories
A corollary to your electrical outlet trio, I always take an extension cord. Whether ship or hotel, the outlets are not always where you need them!
Check with ship policies first because MOST are banned due to fire hazards.
OMG... this is my first visit to a video of yours and I absolutely love the background in your room this is what I'm striving for as a color scheme, and I know I've made the right choice because that plug you held up I literally just bought from Radio Shack about a month ago , i.e November 2015 so it should be in their catalog. , as well as their stores nationwide I should think. I can't do without mine, even not being on a cruise. ..great size for a mid sized purse and/or briefcase.
I have been on 6 cruises but this video was so helpful for my next cruise in April. thanks for sharing
I'm glad you found it helpful! :)
Great tips! Thanks for the video!
Excellent video, Krystal! We just returned from a cruise, and packed about 2/3 of your recommendations. On our next trip, I am definitely adding your others! We had our room attendant find us a corkscrew. And we also had them find an extension cord for my husband's Cpap machine (there was no outlet near the bed). I love all your videos.
Debbie Loes Thank you so much for watching!
I am going on my first cruise and I love all your tips. I haven't watched at all your videos so I apologize if you have mentioned this or already know this, I love bags by a company called Ju-ju-be. They are designer diaper bags but I used them for a lot of different things. They have a great travel purse /wallet called Be Major. Just thought if you like bags and organizing too, you might like these. Thanks for all your great advice - Pixee
