On my backpack, I put a sleigh bell that is attached to a carabeener that I bought in Alaska. If I am on a tour bus or in a local restaurant and someone picks up my bag, I will hear it and know that someone stole my bag.

I go to the pet store and use the kiosk that makes the custom engraved dog tags.
Instead of my dogs information, I buy the large dog bone tags and I have my last name on one side, and on the other side I put my first initial and last name, and my cell phone number. One tag for every bag. Checked baggage, as well as carry on.

I also put a Tile Pro tracer into every checked bag.
A Tile Pro tracer utilizes Bluetooth, and communicates with an app on your phone.
I now know if my luggage made it on to the plane if I had to change planes during my trip.
It also utilizes anyone else that may have the app on their phone. While other people wont know about my luggage, the app uses the smart phones of other Tile customers to relay information about every other tile that it comes in contact with.
    A bit like crowd searching.
    .
There is nothing worse than checking my camera case and getting to the ship and finding out that my camera case didnt make it.

This was a great video. One of the best. I especially liked you bringing a mesh bag for sea shells, snacks in a baggie, baggies themselves and the microfiber towels. I've used those towels and they're great. Always learn from you guys.

Love you guys, I'm an experienced cruiser but love watching and learn some new tips myself. Tip: I wouldn't put all your credit cards and money in the same pouch if it gets lost all of it goes at once then your stuck. I've learned the hard way!! lol

Another tip I saw on line: Partially empty a hand sanitizing wipe envelope like the one you take and slip your cards and money inside there and no one will be the wiser..except you all! ( Take 2)

Take 1 credit card, front pocket ...guys, keep it in your pocket inside baiting suit along with boarding card....if all bets TAKEN, you have your importing cards on you...(add a photo copy of passport- fold it, put in small bag and add to your trunks pocket...
Q: and where is the sanitizing envelope being stored...? And when they take your backpack ...???
KEEP YOUR CARDS ON YOUR PERSON. Oh, ladies, isn't it somewhat common to see you all in men's "swim trunks".... Fine one with the secret pocket on inside! Think, use logic and have fun !

I'll be going on my first cruise this year and I've been doing a lot of research and you've been very helpful. I've also watched Don's Family Vacation and he mentioned getting a prepaid Master Card instead of carrying cash. That way if you loose it you can have it returned through master card and no one gets access to you credit and debit information. Unlike using cash, if you loose it you're not getting it back.

Alyssa has 2 Packing videos for packing everything you will need for a week long Cruise in a Carry On Sized Suitcase. Then she shows you how to strap your 12 packs of Sodas to your Suitcase which hopefully is a Roller style with wheels to help you out getting your suitcase where you need to go.
She also shows you how to pack using the Packing Cubes that you can purchase online from Wish.com. They have several different sets in all kinds of colors for varying Prices. Some you just pay shipping but most run about $4 to $10 plus Shipping Cost.
There's also a video on Specific things you can purchase from Wish.com. it has MANY things that Alyssa herself has purchased for various cruises. Everything from Jewelry to Packing Cubes, Chair - Towel Clips, even Clothing Items if you can find the item in your sizes. ***Just remember,*** a?Anything you order from Wish.com is coming from China, Asia etc. So, 1).the sizes are going to be VASTLY different from USA size charts, 2) It's going to take about 3 to 4 weeks to receive your purchases unless you pay Rush Shipping which is about $5 to $15 more expensive but well worth it if you are in a hurry to get your purchases or leaving for a trip and need your stuff.
Then she has a Brand New Video on how to Pack for an Alaskan Cruise.
Be sure to check out All of Alyssa's various Packing, Dollar Tree Shopping, and Wish.com Videos in prepping for your cruise. They are All Super Helpful.
I am on my second time watching some of them! lol

PS, Thanks so much for ALL Y'all do in creating these Videos for us while you are on your family Vacations and Cruises. You just don't know how much I have learned in the past year or so watching and soaking up everything I could from the videos.
I also have to say Thank You Alyssa for following your Dreams and becoming a Travel Agent this past year. You have helped me out tremendously. Especially when I had to change my Travel Partner Midway through paying for my Cruises.
We are finally down under the 200 days mark on the Countdown Calendar! We are officially at 198 days! Hopefully with the holidays right around the corner this next 108 days will Fly by. Then we will be able to do our online Check In at 90 days out.

We were in Cub/Boy Scouts for many years and used the camelbaks. They worked great, but I did not like the ordeal of cleaning them. And if you didn't get them perfectly clean they started to smell or taste funny. It's just a personal preference for us not to use them.

Great tips! What do you think about just carrying zip lock bags and filling them with snacks from the lido buffet?

I have a strange question. Do u wear ur back pack on ur back or ur stomach/ chest?

  • @donyahk4362

When doing excursions do they let you bring a back pack? Where do you store it while doing the actual activity?

    • @54Mello

Usually you go with a tour company on a bus and you can leave everything you don’t need in the bus. The bus driver stays with his bus and if he leaves he locks the bus. We have also been to places that provide lockers. The only place that makes it hard to guard your possessions is on a beach. We usually don’t bring much. We keep our cruise card in a zippered pocket in our swimsuit. We have a very small wallet with no more than $20.00 and put that under our towel.
We are not the kind of people who take photos every two seconds but on beach days we have a disposable camera in our beach bag in case we do want to take a photo….this way we leave our phone on the ship.

Thanks for the tips! First time cruiser for us! I have a question about the back packs, while on excursions- where do you leave your packs? Especially if you’re on the beach snorkeling, would be worried about it being stolen.

I wondered the same thing so I posed the question on a few different videos and a few people said that beach ports and beach/island excursions usually have lockers that you can rent.

Really good video guys. If I may add a couple of tips, make it a WATERPROOF backpack and don't put address on luggage tags. Anyone who sees them will know you aren't home and can rob your house. Thank you, great tips! :-)

you can put the tag inside the bag

    • @gailabert7976
      @gailabert7976 6 лет назад

Then when you're looking for your bag and there are similar ones you have to open each one? I doubt that others would appreciate you looking in their bags for "your" luggage tags. But, it was just a safety tip. You can obviously do whatever you want. :-)

we always put a yarn pompom on the outside of our luggage tied to a handle to identify it. We have done this for years and the pompom is never lost. Of course we have never observed anyone looking at our luggage tags either. I make sure not to announce trips on social media and to cancel our paper and mail deliveries. Those are a give away
