    For ironing, I bring a small spray bottle and fill it with water and use the blow dryer! Works well!

    I do the exact same thing with ice! As soon as I meet my cabin steward, I slip him a $20 and ask him to keep my small carry-on cooler filled with ice for the duration of the cruise. I never have to worry about needing ice for my drinks in my cabin. And I'm really big on ice. It's one of my necessities, lol.

      Isn't that the best??? We have always had great stewards that kept us well stocked with ice!

    Another tip for inside cabins, if you need to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I always use the bathroom, and leave the light on , and shut the door as much as possible without actually closing the room. The little light provided by the bathroom light is enough to see where you are going:)))

    • @EECCTravels
      @EECCTravels  6 лет назад

      Great tip! We have definitely done this before.

    • @jeancarbonneau1848

      EECC Travels Thank you. Also, if I am sharing a cabin, if I get up, I will walk to the bathroom door, open the door enough for me to turn the light off. After I enter, I turn it back on. After I finish, I turn the light off, open the door, and then close it enough so where I can reach in and turn on the light. Consideration of your cabin mate goes a long way

    PLEASE PLEASE LISTEN TO THEM ABOUT THE KIDS GOING TO MEET AND GREET NIGHT. If your kids go, they will easily make friends to hang out with during the kids activities for the rest of the cruise. But if they don’t, it can be EXTREMELY hard to adjust. It’s wild, and I was an outgoing kid.

    One of the first things you should do while waiting for your luggage to be delivered, go to the grill and eat. You usually board around noon or 1 and dinner isn’t until 5 or 6. You will get hungry, so go and eat. The ship serves lunch and many first-timers don’t know this. They only serve until 2 or 3, so don’t forget to go. ;)

    • @EECCTravels
      @EECCTravels  6 лет назад +8

      Oh great point! Food is always at the forefront of our minds when we get on a ship so I didn't even think about mention it as a tip. But you're right, some first timers may not know!

      my first cruise we boarded at 1030 am. Just a little excited, lol. I wasn't aware of the food/lunch issue until it was too late, and we didn't bring snacks because I thought it's got a buffet, we won't ever be hungry. WRONG. Definitely eat before going to your room and bring snacks is my suggestion. You never know if you'll get the snacking urge late at night.

    Talking about Secret Decks!!!
    If you ever on RC Symphony of the Seas - ( or any other ship for that matter that has front of the ship open air theaters for shows) and they have pre-registering for the show that you missed. Don't stand in line for what's left public sitting. Sneak in from Secret decks right above or right below and take a stairs at the nose of the ship. They don't block those ways.

  • @mrcoaster1

    I have basically three priorities when I get on the ship - eat, drink, and let the good times roll! I always end up bringing a couple of books, but never make it through too many. I end up people watching, and doing so many activities, but those moments of relaxing and unwinding are fantastic!

    Continuing to enjoy your videos! On the Sunshine last year, our cabin was across the hall from a laundry room. People brought chairs and lined them down the hall waiting for their turn. Many appeared to be doing laundry from the whole week as if they didn't have washing machines at home or something. It lasted kind of late sometimes and they weren't exactly quiet about it. Might be something to try and check out when picking a cabin! My tip in that regard is "white" ares are not your friends on the deck plans. Check above, below, or next door. These are generally crew areas like stairways or storage areas.

    It was overwhelming being a first time cruiser. The first day was rough.
    I went to the casino to get my free lanyard. There was no employees walking around so I sat at the bar and was gonna ask the bartender.
    I waited and they both ignored me. 4 people came up the bar after me and ALL of them were being helped.
    So this really rubbed me the wrong way. I was a grouch for about an hour because of that.
    Later on someone wanted to sell me a lanyard for $9 and I was like "I'll just go without one"
    Later on another guy sold me one for $6.95 and I was like Fine. I'll take one.
    But a free lanyard? I didn't get it for free and I was sad...and mad lol

    Google project fi phone service works in over 170 countries and doesn't have roaming fees. I did 2 weeks in Norway and heavily used my data uploading photos. Made two calls back to the US. My monthly bill was only $65 with 2 weeks of Norway and 2 weeks back home.

      But on the ships they make you use their service and charge you for it. I haven’t found a way around it yet.

      @@PsychGirlRaven Project Fi doesn't work with the Cruise lines cell service aka Wireless Maritime Services or Cellatsea cell service. I read this on the project fi help community, on a cruise when the ship is 10 miles or closer to land the phone will connect to land based cell service in countries listed on Project Fi's website. and your normal plan rates apply.

    Can you do a video on tipping?! I need to know how much is appropriate. I don't want to undertip anyone but I also don't want to break the bank doing it. So who gets tipped, when and how much!??? Please and thanks! Love you guys! 🤗😍

    When you guys were talking about 'trying to find each other on the ship', I started to hear the old Benny Hill "Yakety sax" song and seeing in my mind the two of you popping out of doors and running up and down various levels of the ship.
    :D Thanks for many of these ideas. I"ll probably bring my own bottled water for the fridge, but I understand with kids, soda is more in demand.

    You guys are too cute! I'll be doing my 3rd Royal Caribbean cruise in February - these are great tips! I will say Royal Caribbean does have a laundry service - it's a bit pricey, but it's there in a pinch! I also carry a day bag with my swimsuit and some things in it to use once we're on board and waiting for our rooms to be ready and luggage to be delivered - usually it's several hours (we board as early as we can). Other than that, I head straight for my 1st vacation cocktail! Happy cruising!

    You talked about the smartphone app, and connecting to the ships wifi.
    Do you have to buy an internet package in order to utilize this app on the ship's wifi?
    Or is the internet package only intended to access to the public Internet?

    • @therandomadventuresofnatal4417

    Carry a small handbag with your swim suit and flip flops. Get to your room. Change and hit the pool or hot tub. Let others wait for their luggage. Then, as they start pouring in... You leave and go eat.
