Bruce you have Nassau as number one, but yet we have 5 million Americans visiting every year? Name me a country where you won't get mug and what ever number you come up with thats how many subscribers you should have.
Do you have evidence to supoort these claims about the Bahamas Bruce? Because downtown Nassau where the cruise ship ports is heavily reinforced by the Royal Bahamas Police Force. So before you're sued for defamation I suggest you remove this asinine post.
I was in Nassau two years ago and decided to take a walk further into the island. Luckily, the locals kept telling me to turn around (yes, I am not very aware).
10)St Lucia 9)El Salvador 8) St Thomas 7) Antigua 6) St Kitts / Nebus 5) Mexico (it’s a big country) 4) Guatemala 3) Valenzuela 2) Honduras 1) The Bahamas
I took the time to read the most current State Department advisories, but was absolutely stunned to see the Bahamas at the top of this list. I have taken around eight Caribbean cruises over the last dozen years, stopping at at least fifteen different locations and there is no place I have been to as many times and enjoyed more than Nassau and Paradise Island. I have walked and taken local buses around both islands and have very rarely experienced any problems. I saw the comment posted by a fellow NCL cruiser and while I liked the NCL private island, I would hope that this stop would never replace a day or overnight in beautiful Nassau and Paradise Island. I literally choose my cruise itineraries around this port!
Apparently this guy who posted this video is being advised by a salty 3rd party and doesn't know jack shit about what the Bahamas is all about and to add insult to injury, posted a shack to give the impression that is how we live! I am totally offended and annoyed by this BS!
Do not believe everything you hear come and experience it for yourself. The Bahamas is still number one with the best people. You must just be careful like everywhere.
We were on a cruise that stopped in Rostand and it was THE WORST. We’ve been all over the Caribbean and this was by far the worst and most obviously most dangerous. We were accosted right off the ship to the point of being harassed. Thank heaven my husband is a big guy and able to handle himself.
After taking half a dozen Caribbean cruises, I’ve decided it may be best to get off the ship in Key West and forget about the other stops on the cruise itinerary. Every port seems to have a sense of abject poverty just a few blocks from the cruise docks. Even the supposed bargain shopping is more of an overpriced ripoff. The list of ten is too short.

My first experience on Jamaica was a simple cab trip to Dunn River Falls, and even in such a touristy area, I was grabbed by the wrist and yanked over to someone's stand to buy something. *Most* of the locals were rude or looked as if they were tolerating our presence. Years later I went on a cruise with my parents and didn't get off the ship in Jamaica and encouraged my parents to stay away too, but they went. I got the story later from my mom that they were almost mugged by 2 men who were stalking them. But thanks to my father's affable nature, he managed to win them over by offering them a couple of beers from a six pack he bought.
I served aboard ship in the USCG, and we did a 4-day port call in Nassau. Even on the main street, locals try the "welcome to the Bahamas" spiel. They tried to sell us drugs, solicit us for money, and even invited us to "a party" somewhere else on the island. Even the police warned us not to hang around with the locals. As Coast Guardsmen, the best place we hung out, was the lounge of a cruise ship. They allowed us onboard, as long as we were in uniform and not rowdy. I've never desired to visit the Bahamas again.

The only thing scary about Nassau is the prices. We used to call it "The Rip Off Zone" or "Price Gouging Encouraged!". Signed, a chef of a private yacht who has filled 2 passports going to The Bahamas
We cruised to st.thomas, st.kitts and nevis and antigua and did not experience any dramas. Do not be turned off these beautiful places, just take care.
I don’t always visit ports, sometimes more hassle and expense than it’s worth not to mention having to get up early and line up. I’d rather sit on my balcony overlooking it all in my robe with free room service and then have a nap
Sixteen years ago my wife and I took a cruise on the SS Veendam, part of the Holland America fleet. Our itinerary included Grand Cayman (yay!!), Cozumel (smaller yay), and....Guatemala. Yep...Guatemala. We were greeted at the Guatemalan naval base (there was no cruise ship port in Guatemala in 2003, and I suspect that there is no cruise ship port in Guatemala today) by a host of Guatemalan sailors armed with submachine guns. Upon disembarking, there was a desultory bazaar with presumably locally grown/stolen goods along with a dozen or two very sullen and angry-looking locals attempting to unload their wares upon the more gullible passengers. I don't think they sold much. My wife and I took an excursion to some Mayan ruins or other (yeah, it wasn't exactly the grand thing you might imagine it to be). The excitement was the bus ride to and from the ruins. Let me put it this way - the roads of Guatemala and the driving behavior of Guatemalans will put the most steadfast and courageous among us to the ultimate test of our nerves. That we all survived was nothing short of miraculous, as we hurtled down miniscule cliffside "roads" that were little better than horse paths, while traffic flew by (at equal breakneck speed) in the opposite direction never more than inches to our left. I have never, ever been so grateful to reboard a cruise ship. Hell, I have never, ever been so grateful merely to survive something. The SMART passengers that skipped the port call and just stayed on the boat to drink their asses off got a very good laugh at our expense.
Don’t try to tell that to the hundreds of cruise tourists I see in Antigua, Guatemala several times a year. They seem to enjoy their excursions, restaurant and market shopping immensely. Way to scaremonger about a beautiful destination. Several downtown USA cities where cruises are originating(Baltimore, Los Angeles, New Orleans)are more dangerous
In 2013, on a Panama Canal cruise from NYC to LA, we stopped in Guatemala, (still no dock there) & nothing else! So, we went to the town of Antiqua & had a great time walking around this Colonial village! No problems & no one bothered us!
We went on a cruise to St Thomas Vi and we rented a car. We talked to a man about touring a certain area and he advised us not to go there, "It's BAD!" We thought, hell, we're from NYC! We ain't scared. We drove in to the area and it was pretty scary. "Windows up!"
Been way off the ‘beaten path’ in Jamaica, Bahamas, St. Thomas, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Guatemala, Honduras and various places in Mexico without any issues.
rontavius snipes I’m sorry you feel that way about my home. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have their own. However it’s comments like this that bring us all down. Not saying you have to give to everyone that ask but remember to thank God you’re not in that position
Cruise to Australia, beautiful beaches along the Queensland coastline, stunning coral and surroundings. Then cruise to our cousins in New Zealand both North and South Islands. Cruise back through Vanuatu and Fiji. No overcrowding and always friendly. New International Cruise Terminal opening in Brisbane late 2020. Queensland - Beautiful one day perfect the next. ( Except for bush fires at the moment in some areas )
@Amanda 1 If you wan't to take a 7 day cruise up the Queensland coast to Cairns - P & 0 Australia would be my choice as they have fabulous kids clubs. They won't want to leave. Staff are excellent. Older style ship at around the 70 000 ton mark. I prefer the smaller ships rather that the floating shopping malls with around 4000 - 6000 on board. Princess Cruises are also great a step up from P and O, but the average age on these cruises would be 55+. In Australia we seem to complain that we get the older ships and not the newer 130 000 tons and above superliners. In the US they are complaining that they want more of the smaller ships like the Sun and Sea Princess which are more true to the original meaning of cruising. They can sail to more exotic places where the larger ships can't. Off to cruise to Papua New Guinea in 6 days on the Sea Princess - LOVE this ship.
St kitts...i will never go back there. Right in the port and shopping area a local tried taking my 8 year old son away from me when he was standing right next to me. Be careful.
The only ports I have ever felt unsafe at were Ocho Rios, Jamaica and Montego Bay, Jamaica. And Jamaica didn't even make the list? There were people trying to stop the bus! People in the markets asking for money.
I see that a lot of people don't agree with this list but, the list is compiled by the number of incidents reported by cruise ship passengers and the crime rate as reported by police.. You could go almost anywhere and not have a problem, that doesn't mean the place is safe, it just means you got lucky. Ignore their warning at your own risk.
Yeah right what a joke a lot of people don’t agree with this list because it’s total BS I mean Antigua but not Jamaica and how did the Bahamas get to be ranked number one you say this list is compiled from the complaint’s from passengers and so forth but it’s still not true I live in Antigua and I can tell you with most certainty that their is no bad part of town in that picture you people are showing Because majority of those buildings are businesses so please stop feeding people these lies and let people enjoy their life’s
I've personally been to all of these ports and never felt as though I was in danger. The only island I went to where there were heavily armed guards within arms reach at all times was in the Dominican Republic and even with this around me, I never felt unsafe. It's all about using wisdom and not wandering off on your own after dark or while drinking, etc...
Hi Tee! i am glad you had a good vacation. I would not book a cruise to a port if I knew that there were armed guards there to protect my family. But the world is changing....
Bruce as an expat who has lived in The Bahamas for over 30 years I have had no problems. Be sensible Stay on The tourist routes and you will be perfectly safe. Bahamians are very friendly and welcoming to visitors. I think that getting on The Boat in Miami may be more dangerous than Nassau.

Roatan, 2008: Due to a hurricane, the ship changed its route to Roatan. As soon as my late husband and I stepped foot away from the cruise port premises and heavily armed guards (just a few yards away), a group of 8-10 years old boys attempted to rob us. We flagged down the guards and the boys took off running in all directions. Fourteen years later, I still have no desire to revisit Roatan.
roatan may seem like a dangerous island since its so close to honduras, but that has one of the best islands i have ever been to. the locals couldn’t be nicer and the excursions are absolutely amazing
Travelling with Bruce have you even been to Roatan? Roatan is NOT dangerous at all. You will have your couple of people who will do petty theft, but that’s about it. You’re not being clear on information. The mainland is the dangerous part. NOT the islands. Do better research before giving so many people fake facts.
I agree with Antigua being on the list. The cruise line even warned us about going ashore. The locals hated us. They would walk directly at us with hate in their eyes. We were with an older couple and she had MS and was on a small electric scooter but they still walked right at us. We only went about 2 blocks and headed back to the ship. This is the first time I was ever afraid while on a busy street in the middle of the day. Never going there again.
@@robertwilliams5015 Mine was too short a trip in my opinion. And even though the taxi was a little bit expensive, we ended up on a nice beach with all the accomodations, in West End. The snorkeling was amazing, but I'm not a pro or anything like it. Lots of tropical fish to watch, lobsters to find and close to the shore. Had my two kids with me, 11 and 13, and they had a blast. Would return there tomorrow if I could.
@@SorenArouet Roatan is a beautiful place! Not biased only because I'm Honduran but the island is lovely, Utila that is close to it even more beautiful
I have been to Nassau for the last 20 years been all over the island never ever had a problem the people have always been friendly and polite so so I have to disagree with your opinion

I am a Bahamian and we have our share of crime but this video is misleading and untrue. The Cruise lines are trying to strong arm us into allowing them to control our Ports. It won't happen though as we are not desperate to hand our control over to them.
@@ronbonora7872 Come on! Really. Only if you go to a welfare housing project at 1am , wearing 3 Rolex's, and yell at the locals"who wants to fight". Otherwise, you're fine ANYWHERE in Canada.
Stayed on Grand Bahama for a week. Rented a car and we went all over by ourselves. Some of the areas looked really scary, there is a lot of poverty. I can see how some people would be weirded out by it. But nobody bothered us at all. People weren't overly friendly at first, until we struck up a conversation with them and expressed an interest in their beautiful island. Then they came out of their shell and were very nice and friendly. I personally don't want to stay on some manufactured island. I like experiencing the culture of a place. Sad how many folks we talked to on our flight back who had never left the "Americanized" tourist area and never got to experience the people, the real food of the island, etc. I think they are really missing out. You do have to use common sense and be careful of course.
I went on a cruise to Bermuda. It was by far my favorite island. My bf and I renter a moped and ventured off on our own. So many of our fellow cruisers thought we were crazy for going off on our own with just a moped but we saw so much and spoke to so many locals and we really got to see what this island had to offer. So many people just stayed nearby the cruise port which was nothing compared to the beauty of the island and the friendliness of the locals. If your able to venture off and experience the island don’t just do tourist things
My issue with this is that you say it’s the most dangerous ports, but then you lump countries (ie Mexico) together when there can be multiple ports in a country! Some more dangerous than others. Be smart, be wary, and do your research.
Never had an issue in the Bahamas. We stayed at a friends condo and walked all over the place. We took the taxi everywhere. People were very helpful. Most of what you say applies to just about anywhere US or not. Basically know where you are going at all times.
Hi watgor! I like your comment here. If you are in a local area like you were, your not going to stand out like a sore thumb as cruise ship passengers do where they are taking sefies etc and attract umwanted attention to themselves. @@TravellingwithBruce Bruce stop with the bs ok as a native of the Bahamas your comments are absolutely insulting! You make it seem as if we're wolves waiting on prey. 9 out of 10 passengers will never experience what you're talking about and to top the list as #1 as if it's the most dangerous?? Most tourist will have the same experience as mentioned with really nice and helpful native people. The cruise lines are building their own islands for one reason and one reason only MONEY, they see they money they can keep to themselves in doing so.
And, if you want to visit a port and get robbed without even realising it, come to Sydney Australia and buy food at Circular Quay, all of the restaurants there are bistro style (think diner) and completely over charge for VERY average food. My recommendation, hop a train from Circular Quay to Central and visit Dixon Street (Chinatown), great food and very affordable.

Surprised you didn't mention Rome, where you are almost guaranteed to be targeted by pickpockets, especially on the underground. Okay, it's not actually a port, but it's on all the cruise itineraries.
I went to St Thomas love it. I went to Meghan Beach and paid for a taxi bus, it was cheap and good services. I had no problem, my husband walked around to stores right off the port. He did not wander far off and we both enjoyed the island.
So many people let the island beauty take over them while on vacation. I’ve cruised the Caribbean for 34 straight years in every possible combination with my spouse, my sister, other couples, old friends, new friends and have never experienced a single problem. You have to trust your gut instincts. Island residents know that the cruise ship passengers are their bread and butter. When the ships depart, so does the money. Most are decent people who help you if you don’t get off the ships with this “I’m better than you”attitude.

This year will be my 4th cruise since 2010. Every time I've gone has been special, but this time it will be very special. I will be getting married, this will be a honeymoon cruise and this will be my longest cruise, a 7 day cruise on the Carnival Conquest 7 day western Caribbean.
I just came back from a cruise from Cabo San Lucas last week, I had a better time hanging out with locals than what the cruise ship had to offer, I'm flying back there for a week in may to hang out some more, Good times
I worked on Cruise Ships for over 4 years, one crew member was shot dead at the Port in Roatan, Honduras when I was there needless to say after that I never got off the ship at that port again. There are probably 5 or 6 places I can think of that are more dangerous than some of those on the list.

Statistics, people. You may have had a great experience in any of these places, but that doesn’t mean many, many people have been accosted and harmed. It isn’t just about YOUR experience
Seattle is a scary place. Every morning the local news reports several shootings with a number of dead and wounded, usually not near the cruise ship pier, but often enough in tourist areas.
not a cruise country, but touristy anyway: Czech Republic - I drove randomly around their countryside, and it was picturesque & safe; I was on my own, and I don't speak Czech language
Roatán has some amazing people living there but a lot of beggars that won’t leave you alone and follow you, our tour guide told us that cruises stopped coming there until it got cleaned up recently but the north side is the worst
I must argue Antigua. My wife and I wandered all over Antigua and Barbuda for a week and never had the slightest hint of danger. The locals were friendly and inviting. We even got personal numbers of cab drivers to take us around. And how can you not mention Jamaica as dangerous? That's a place you don't dare wander without and escorted tour guide.
I dont want to go to a private island cruise location. I want to see the real island life not some bubble created by the cruise ship to hang out with people I am stuck with on the ship.
Nikki B know lots of people that do that. They all get robbed often & attacked often. A few still go & they are Canadians too. Be careful. The locals know you are not from there.
@@vincewhite8016 thanks for the advice but I will take my chances. I have been to Bahamas, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Turks & Caico, Grand Cayman, Dominican Republic, many parts of Mexico and never had an issue. I dont venture out of tourist areas and always feel safe. @@nikkib6604 'just as likely to get shot in U.S'. Really? In tourist areas? I don't think so. That's inner city bullshit for the most part. Plus you wouldn't stand out as much as a robbery target, like you would if you were in another country.
@@nikkib6604 There are plenty of locals hired & vetted for work on the private islands. The music, cuisine, entertainment is as authentic as you need without the hassle. Trust you are ill equipped to deal with aggressive panhandlers, gropers, kidnappers, drug dealers, etc. This is how they survive, those streets are not a game to test or play with. @@SirDuke81 lol I am not Caucasian, just very light complexion. Just seems strange my friends and I travel a lot and have never encountered any of these issues? Guess we have been fortunate. My next cruise is actually stopping in Havana and Stirup Cay so both options. Thanks for looking out!
I don't know where I was, that I walked through a city, and up a giant hill to get to the main post office. The postal workers had a great deal of fun with me, seeing as I had passed lots of mailboxes without realizing what they were! I then walked all the way back down, stopping at a local tavern along the way where I had an interesting, if not very productive conversation, with the bartender and two locals, in primitive English. (They were saddened my French wasn't better, as was I.) When I got back to the ship, my friends were on the verge of organizing a search party. I didn't feel unwelcome by the natives I encountered, but if you're a tourist off the beaten track, it definitely pays to be aware of your surroundings, and on your best behavior. You are, after all, a guest in somebody else's country.
I booked on the new Carnival Panorama for early 2020, but when I looked up the ports on RUclips and saw the ports and the cities, I changed my plans. In some of the videos there were police with automatic rifles on every corner. The cities looked dirty. I'm used to the beautiful Caribbean. I have been to Honduras and took an excursion. It was great! I'm always careful when I leave the country, although once I had to find a dentist in Aruba and walked all over the place by myself. The locals were helpful, friendly and someone even drove me to a dentist.
Its everywhere you go when tourist are involved plus how you present yourself. For old guys leaving the boat wearing socks with sandles, shorts past your knees,Hawaiian shirt,Rolex on and wallet in the back pocket etc...it just screams "mug me".
What about Rio?!! Also stopped at Guayaquil, Ecuador on a cruise a few years ago and the entire time we were on a tour (bus and walking around town) we were surrounded by MANY police. They stayed with us all day. The bus was surrounded by police motorcycles and cars on all four sides. When we got out and walked, they all walked with us - carrying machine guns!!! I walk slower than most, so my "bodyguard" stayed with me, bringing up the back of the group. By the end of the day we were good buddies! When we stopped for lunch, some were standing guard inside the restaurant and some stood outside - front and back of the restaurant! I was never so happy to sail away at the end of the day.
So the video basically tells us not to go in bad part of town's that's every where in the world. I just went to New Orleans more dangerous than any of the Island's mentioned!

If you're a drunken fool tourist running around expecting everyone to acceptyou, then, you get what's coming. I've been to New Orleans at least one hundred times and I've never been robbed or bothered. The chap making this somehow forgot to mention Montego Bay, Jamaica.Maybe all of that stinking island. I've never felt welcome there and I've dropped in at least five times. So, I remedied the situation by NOT gettingoff the ship when docked there. I just wave at the island from the pool deck.I agree with his assessment of St. Lucia. For a tropical island I found mostof the native there cold and aloof....just waitin' for tourist money.Of course, that's what mass tourism does. Havana will change too. It's just a matter of time...……………………………...

The best stop I've been to so far. All smiles, no pressure selling, super polite locals, no one yelling at you... and ironically enough, the port I've done the most shopping at. Who knew that people would actually shop if you weren't screaming in their face 24/7? Shocking.
I was in Roatan just last week. Understandably #2 on this list. Not a good place at all for cruise ship passengers. I hired a guide just to walk the streets. I'm very glad I did.
No Jamaica? Are you serious? I’ve never felt more unsafe than while I was there even on guided tours. And, no, we weren’t looking for drugs or anything like that at all. We stayed at Sandals in Ocho Rios and I wouldn’t give you a nickel to go back!!! Never again!
Just got back from a cruise from there, and I wholeheartedly agree. While on an excursion, I had several men watching my professional camera like a hawk and some locals even asked three of the women in our group to follow them behind a building. They kept declining but they kept asking so finally they had to leave. The tourist traps there are the worst I've ever experienced in the world, if you tell someone who's selling something no thanks they will literally run after you yelling "Sir! Sir! Please! Let me show you what I have for sale!". One guy ran alongside the safari jeep as we were leaving yelling for a lady inside to buy his stuff even though she kept saying no thank you. Never again, man.
We have been on many cruises and enjoyed all of them, some more than others of course. I was surprised to see that St. Thomas and the Bahamas on the list. We have been to St. Thomas once and the Bahamas many times. We only went on the cruise line run excursions, so we were oblivious to the threats.

The term third world had nothing to do with economic development. During the Cold War you were either aligned with the US and the West which was considered the first world or you were aligned with the East and the Soviet Union which was considered the second world, if you were unaligned you were considered third world. It had to do with alliances not with economics.

El Salvador is no problem. I went there, partied off the resort with locals, walked around drunk at night in Acajutla, it's all good and safe. No probs at all...
I do not agree with you.. Bahamas #1 and no mention of Jamaica? No way... I grew up in Jamaica and now live in the Bahamas and there is no way the Bahamas Is ranked #1 over all the countries you have mentioned...just not true
Jamaica is very restricted these days for passengers to out into the streets that is why it did not make the list for "cruise passengers". But for anyone walking the streets of Jamaica.....look out
The Bahamas is second only to Jamaica as my least favorite of all the cruise ports because the locals seem to really hate the tourists, and look for every opportunity to take as much money from them as possible. Whether it's being harassed every 50 feet to braid your hair or charging $5.00 for a tiny snack sized bag of chips, it's an outrageously expensive and openly hostile place that has only gotten worse over the years. I want to love it because it's a truly beautiful chain of islands, but I've been there at least 4 times on cruises and each time is worse than the last.
Went to Nassau many years ago and we stayed right by the wharf. We had a great time, never had any trouble and the people were so great. Sad to think you'd go there and not meet the people who live there
My favorite stop on our cruise was Mazatlan! We got a great tour guide who stayed with us the whole day and kept us safe. We got to visit that beautiful church and the beach was amazing!
Haha I just posted a similar comment it's so sad to tell people to not explore Mazatlan when I went there we saw the church and just walked back to the cruise port and oh man what a wonderful and beautiful city... So much character and beauty the city was like a real life movie or postcard... I love that city wish I could stay there for an extended time like a week or more.

Beware of Progresso don't wonder off, Same for Cozumel, It's nice but stay with the crowd. Cayman Islands are nice never had a problem there. But you will have to walk thru alot of people trying to sell you Tour Packages. Just noticed you are on Royal, i cruise with Carnival.
Egypt, China, Israel, Africa, and not to forget Sicily and Napoli in italy.. Think this should be renamed to cruises out of US because all on this list is related to that. @@chriswilliams6568 True, maybe not as much violence but for sure scams, pick pocketing and purse snatchers. But try a Baltic cruise to St. Petersburg where gay people get brutally beaten and cops stop you in the street to look at your passport that you then have to pay 50-100 dollars to get back to avoid going to jail for walking around without passport. So again, I do see the list but I believe it's not a fair representation of MOST dangerous cruises. And Belize is not on the list where not so long ago a colleague of mine got shot down in broad daylight because the guy didn't want to hand over his hard earned I-phone.. And not so long before that there was a stabbing. But the video is still good, highlighting that just because cruising is safe, doesn't mean you're protected in the ports.
I was thinking the same but guessed that, being an American, he probably is barely aware that the rest of the world also has cruise lines in operation. lol
50 yrs ago when I was a cute blonde, I was walking down beach alone and approached by a large local man offering his services. Not tourists services. He told me that many young women go to the islands looking for men's services. I walked faster so did he. I got away. I was naive and young. Never went back to Nassau, the Bahamas
i have been around the world on over 70 cruises - you have to be careful no matter where you go. safety and smarts go hand in hand. we have travelled the USA extensively also and same thing anywhere safety - been to most of those places you mention - who walks around where you're not familiar - i can get mugged here in sunny florida where i live if i go to the wrong area. as for the bahamas and jamaica got to be careful. travel smart.

Holland has their own island too. I was just in Cozumel, and the military police were patrolling with huge machine guns. That really doesn't make tourists feel safe.
I have visited Puerto Penasco many times. Federales patrolling is normal. They have always been ok. We offer them cold drinks while they patrolled the beach. A friend got them to take a picture with her. I think if you treat them with respect they'll treat you the same.
Police & the military have been patrolling like that for years. They are doing it to keep the tourists safe. That is why Cozumel is the #1 port in the Caribbean.

Do you have evidence to supoort these claims about the Bahamas Bruce?
Because downtown Nassau where the cruise ship ports is heavily reinforced by the Royal Bahamas Police Force. So before you're sued for defamation I suggest you remove this asinine post.

I’m glad you guys are ok
After taking half a dozen Caribbean cruises, I’ve decided it may be best to get off the ship in Key West and forget about the other stops on the cruise itinerary. Every port seems to have a sense of abject poverty just a few blocks from the cruise docks. Even the supposed bargain shopping is more of an overpriced ripoff. The list of ten is too short.

Royal CRIBBEAN rent A Island mostly there thete STAFF GOING back
My first experience on Jamaica was a simple cab trip to Dunn River Falls, and even in such a touristy area, I was grabbed by the wrist and yanked over to someone's stand to buy something.

Love St Kitts
I don’t always visit ports, sometimes more hassle and expense than it’s worth not to mention having to get up early and line up. I’d rather sit on my balcony overlooking it all in my robe with free room service and then have a nap

I will do that at home, thank you!
There is an active port in Guatemala which has excursions to Antigua and the volcanoes surrounding it. Nothing into the crazy parts of Guatemala.
In 2013, on a Panama Canal cruise from NYC to LA, we stopped in Guatemala,
(still no dock there) & nothing else! So, we went to the town of Antiqua & had
a great time walking around this Colonial village! No problems & no one
bothered us!
I was on a HAL Central America cruise and loved Guatemala. We do travel a lot in Latin America, maybe we had a better idea what to expect

Great comment thank you
@Amanda 1 If you wan't to take a 7 day cruise up the Queensland coast to Cairns - P & 0 Australia would be my choice as they have fabulous kids clubs.
Be careful.
Brittany Gilmer wow! That’s scary
So where's this list of reports to substantiate these claims? Or we must believe whatever some youtuber say without evidence

Yes your safe right by the ship...
Been to Roatan 3 times… just stay with the ship excursions … I never felt unsafe… and the people were genuine, honest and friendly ❤️
I've been to St. Thomas- Antigua- Honduras & Bahamas multiple times- traveled all over and never had any problems at all
Well lets just call up the governments of those places abd tell them bambino went to those places and declared them crime free.

I'm thinking... Buy a drink package and stay on board, all the scenary , none of the hassles
At the bottom of the glass
Yeah that’s what cruisers do. NOT
I agree with Antigua being on the list.
Just got back from Roatan, and despite some high cab fees, we didn't encounter any problems. Was actually our favorite place for the whole cruise.
Been on many cruises and Roatan is easily my favorite port of all time. The best snorkeling in the Caribbean in my opinion.

I am a Bahamian and we have our share of crime but this video is misleading and untrue. The Cruise lines are trying to strong arm us into allowing them to control our Ports. It won't happen though as we are not desperate to hand our control over to them.

This is a real experience. That shit he posted about the Bahamas is utter garbage. 😡😡😡
So many people let the island beauty take over them while on vacation. I’ve cruised the Caribbean for 34 straight years in every possible combination with my spouse, my sister, other couples, old friends, new friends and have never experienced a single problem. Seattle is a scary place. Every morning the local news reports several shootings with a number of dead and wounded, usually not near the cruise ship pier, but often enough in tourist areas.
Youre not really saying much other than " gotta be careful where you go" " stay on tourist part" well thats everywhere. Lol
not a cruise country, but touristy anyway: Czech Republic - I drove randomly around their countryside, and it was picturesque & safe; I was on my own, and I don't speak Czech language
Roatán has some amazing people living there but a lot of beggars that won’t leave you alone and follow you, our tour guide told us that cruises stopped coming there until it got cleaned up recently but the north side is the worst
A coworker spent a week in Jamaica and he was never so happy for a vacation to end and he could get out of there.
Jaimaca has been getting worse by the decade. It was horrible when I went there in 1973!!!

A lot of these ports are on top 25 murder capitals of the world. And cruise ships don’t tell you anything.
Check out the FBI stats online shocking Brokers will never divulge this info even if it could cost lives!
I disagree that, "it's everywhere you where tourist[s] are involved." Some places are much safer than others.
I can risk my life driving into Milwaukee.

Yup don't take a cruise to New Orleans, and go into the sketchy part of town I think is the moral of the story....Please subscribe to my channel and join me live anytime Monday to Friday at 5pm et and Saturdays at 2pm et. I hear ya.. So is North Minneapolis..
I agree and was going to mention New Orleans. I lived there extremely dangerous city. One wrong turn and you can be in big trouble.
@Kepano 808HI This remark will have you charged and convicted in UK or Europe, online or not!
I’ve been on 2 Cruises the last was June ‘19 ALL the places for me were fantastic Altogether I’ve been to 9 Caribbean Islands and love the Caribbean
So far always treated with kindness from the locals Of course I stayed most of the time in Tourist Village
Belize is gorgeous but we were warned not to go into the town
I get it visiting not the same as living there
Here in the US Md I’ve been attacked grabbed robbed 4 times- though long ago
You make mention of Bahamas you are so wrong, anywhere you travel in the world you must be careful
Been to a few of these ports. Nassau surprises me. Never had any issues. Even when walking “over the hill.” Venezuela and Guatemala..? I’ll pass.

This isn't true Bahamas is great
The Bahamas is SUPER GREAT!@@miguelcoopercooler3039
Nassau is just a flea market surrounded by a beach. Too many locals trying to hustle you. Very annoying.
@@mwood65 you are a liar
I just don't like the way you get harassed to buy weed, cheap merchandise, or girls. The Cayman islands are the best place to not be bothered
I agree the Cayman island was the best
The best stop I've been to so far. All smiles, no pressure selling, super polite locals, no one yelling at you... and ironically enough, the port I've done the most shopping at. Who knew that people would actually shop if you weren't screaming in their face 24/7? Shocking.
This is my favorite port of call!
I was in Roatan just last week. Understandably #2 on this list. Not a good place at all for cruise ship passengers. I hired a guide just to walk the streets. I'm very glad I did.
Did the same thing back in 2010
Ocho RiosDon’t judge the whole island on that one place
I hated ochio rios also, the island is beautiful but I felt unsafe
You are a liar all the good ports you're finding fault get lost there's crime every where liar.
You re sick so where do you recommend you're just sick.
Great info! Just subbed🙋♀️
If you go anywhere it can be dangerous! Stay aware of your surroundings...even in the states, in nice neighborhoods.
I was in Routan Honduras last Week we had A Beautiful time
Roatan the best
I love it there
We have been on many cruises and enjoyed all of them, some more than others of course. I was surprised to see that St. Thomas and the Bahamas on the list. We have been to St. Thomas once and the Bahamas many times. We only went on the cruise line run excursions, so we were oblivious to the threats.
John I too was surprised and I could have added more countries to the list
I always check the U.S. Dept of State website. It shows actual crime stats.

Been to Jamaica. Never again💀🔪💸
We have been to St. Kitts many times and take off on our own with never a problem. Have found the people to be very friendly and helpful. Surprised this port was on your list!
Maybe you was lucky that time.
I think a lot of people forget that these islands are 3rd world nations and once you leave certain. Areas you expose yourself to danger
You mean developing countries. We no longer say 3rd world nations anymore.
@@Naye0926 "3rd world" never was meant as a economic measure.
@@Naye0926 the narrator says third world so...third world
The Bahamas is not a 3rd world
The term third world had nothing to do with economic development. During the Cold War you were either aligned with the US and the West which was considered the first world or you were aligned with the East and the Soviet Union which was considered the second world, if you were unaligned you were considered third world. It had to do with alliances not with economics.
We've been going to St. Kitts every year since 2004. NEVER had n issue, and we go everywhere.
Neither have I and i dont stay on the tourist path
St. Thomas is nice & friendly. I enjoyed it! Antigua as well.

I can proudly say that I've survived St Kitts, St Thomas, St Lucia and Nassau.
Well done!
Bruce you sound like a person that is in a constant state of fear and you are looking for company. You need to be more brave in life.
CasualFizz me too
@@e.s.92 It was kinda a way of saying "They aren't any more dangerous that other countries like the US"
Just going on my first cruise. Glad he didn't mention Bar Harbor Maine, Saint John New Brunswick, and Halifax Nova Scotia!!
You'll be fine coming here to the Maritimes. And to Maine as well.
Wait,....Canada? Sorry, but you won't be safe from polite (oh, excuse me) Canadians! Sorry....sorry.... ;-)
I too went on the NCL to Nova Scotia. Nice and safe.
El Salvador is no problem. I went there, partied off the resort with locals, walked around drunk at night in Acajutla, it's all good and safe. No probs at all...
The force is strong with Harry Punani
Nice name bro💀😭
I enjoyed the ship and the ports. Had fun in Nassau haggling with the merchants at the Straw Market and enjoying Junkanoo Beach.
I’m glad you had a good experience
I do not agree with you.. Bahamas #1 and no mention of Jamaica? No way... I grew up in Jamaica and now live in the Bahamas and there is no way the Bahamas Is ranked #1 over all the countries you have mentioned...just not true
Jamaica is very restricted these days for passengers to out into the streets that is why it did not make the list for "cruise passengers". But for anyone walking the streets of Jamaica.....look out
Sorry Colleen I've heard it is from a friend. I would not even get off the boat in the Bahamas.
I'd like to keep my kidneys.
@@kimc5814 You have been going to the wrong places.
I’m a Princess girl but coco cays looks like a fun place . I love the beach days!!!
its a private, royal Caribbean island is why it is so safe.
New Sub Bruce. I enjoy your channel! Need some info on embarking & returning from Galveston, TX doing the Western Caribbean on Royal Caribbean cruise line for 2!
Beware of Progresso don't wonder off, Same for Cozumel, It's nice but stay with the crowd. Cayman Islands are nice never had a problem there. If your going to Montego Bay don't get hustled with tours. There's a spot you can walk to just outside the cruise Port and shop. But you will have to walk thru alot of people trying to sell you Tour Packages. Just noticed you are on Royal, i cruise with Carnival.
Stayed in Ocho Rios for a week from the UK back in 1994. Never again
That is so sad about Nassau...That place was one our most favorites...Alot has changed in 10 years, what a shame...smh
He jusy trying to take bread oit our mouths
Egypt, China, Israel, Africa, and not to forget Sicily and Napoli in italy.. Think this should be renamed to cruises out of US because all on this list is related to that. I've worked on cruise ships for almost 10 years and I've never held as hard in my wallet as I've done in some of the Mediterranean ports.

Robert, but in Europe you are not so likely to be a victim of violence as you are in the States or Mexico.
I was thinking the same but guessed that, being an American, he probably is barely aware that the rest of the world also has cruise lines in operation. lol
@@adeleweiss8130 True story... haha
I 've been 7 times on a cruise 4 times Caribbean 2.times Mexico and once Europe didn't have any problems even Bahamas and Jamaica too
i have been around the world on over 70 cruises - you have to be careful no matter where you go. safety and smarts go hand in hand. we have travelled the USA extensively also and same thing anywhere safety - been to most of those places you mention - who walks around where you're not familiar - i can get mugged here in sunny florida where i live if i go to the wrong area. as for the bahamas and jamaica got to be careful. travel smart.
Thanks for the info, helps in planning my cruise.
I can honestly say I love the Bahamas and I've walked all around never an issue and always nice islanders

You remind me of my last few cruise organizers. Great video and keep up the good content.
New York city should now be included on this list.... 2021.
And the peddlers make it feel worse
Police & the military have been patrolling like that for years. They are doing it to keep the tourists safe. That is why Cozumel is the #1 port in the Caribbean.
this is Mexico!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There has been several kidnappings in Mexico and tourist buses being bombed in recent years.
There's been a travel advisory posted for the US. A dangerous place to visit.
Surprised you singled out some of these ports by the "home" country and not the specific port.
Very Eye-opening! Thank you Bruce!!!
