Awesome video! I am heading to Maui for 10 days on March 11th. I'm going to be bringing along some fishing gear and hoping to try my hand at some whipping and shore fishing. I've never fished in Maui so it should be a learning experience to say the least!
yea it will be fun! you dont need a fishing license at all. what i usually do is bring my lures, line, etc and reel with me and just buy a cheap rod at Walmart when I get there. much easier to pack that way and then i just donate the rod to a local kid or fisherman when i’m done with it. hope you catch a Jack Trevally (papio). they fight amazing!
@@brianjsue thats a good point too! I've got a 6'6" MH nice travel rod but I would love to get a longer rod (8-9') so maybe I'll scoop one up at Walmart or a store on the island
+FocusReactMedia I work them really fast. Basically keep them on the surface (it'll sink quickly if you don't reel in fast). I also use braid connected to a mono leader, which both float and the lack of stretch of the braid helps make it easier to keep the lure on the surface. Papio like really fast moving baits so you almost cant work it too fast.
Respect for releasing that one.
+2jzTireBurner thanks! i want it go grow into an ULUA one day!
Brian Sue it will never happen. Lol. Omilus only grow to about 30#
@@makenitrogreatagain977 Ulua is just a trevally that is over 10lbs.
