As a local boy born and raised on the Big Island i am happy to see that u not only enjoyed your trip but realized the different things to explore and experience just on this one island. you videos were direct and u get right to it wasting no time. Great job! People like you are always welcomed here. Aloha!
I live here and appreciate your take on our home. Sometimes our brothers and sisters get a little sensitive with visitors. If other visitors are like you then we will all feel blessed.
keep coming back again and again I absolutely love the big island and everything in it, just came back 2 days ago and every time a piece of my heart stays there
I never comment on videos but I felt I had to comment on yours. Your video literally the most wholesome, respectful, and just made me very warm to watch because of the way you just keep giving back to the beauty and sovereignty of nature and just saying/showing gratitude for being able to travel and be there on the Big Island. I used to live there and am finally going back after 13 years in just 3 days and your video helped me feel such a huge appreciation for the island and God’s artwork. You also do not sugar coat if places are more difficult to hike or snorkel and I really like that. Not many other videos seem to be as honest. Thank you for the beautiful take on the Big Island! You really shine your light through your videos.
My daughter and I are visiting from Alaska. It’s our first relaxing vacation in five years, and we are absolutely loving it. Thank you for the wonderful overview and great ideas. Your photography really is stunning; I can’t imagine how you get such large and beautiful shots. Loved seeing your personalities shine through, too. Thanks again - you’ve helped me shape our itinerary with some thrilling as well as sacred spots to check out and which I hadn’t heard of previously.
Thank you so much!! We are glad you enjoyed and found it informative - it's a balance we've been trying to find 😊 such a beautiful island to kick back and relax during the holidays 😊 enjoy that quality time 💚🌺
We spend half the year on the Big Island and your video is a wonderful representation of Hawaii. When we have visitors, we do the exact activities. On your next visit, when you exit the airport take a left and see the Kohala coast, A-Bay (best sunsets on the island),Hapuna Beach (rated #1 beach in the US), the old sugar towns near Hawi, and explore cowboy country in Waimea. Also spend time in Kona for great waterfront restaurants and check out the pier where the Ironman Triathlon starts and finishes. Aloha 🌺🤙🏽
We will live on the island part-time once we retire. looking forward to the same experiences. we have been to most of these places, and we love the big island. Aloha.
I am a haole who grew up on the big island and you made a beautiful caring video of the island. So funny when I heard you pronounce Waipio and you took the time to correct. Mahalo nui loa🌺
I moved from L.A area to Hilo. All our belongings were held on a shipping strike at Matson freight Lines . With 2 small boys it was terrible to existe on just a suitcase. We shipped a custom cabinet buiseness of ours. People of Hilo came with items to help us live. I can never thank their Kindness! A beautiful place and the people too.
I live here, on the slopes of Hualalai mountain, above Kailua-Kona. I am always eager to see what travelers think of this island. Over the years I have seen dozens of "tourist videos" about the Big Island, but yours is definitely among the very best! You have selected some of the best spots to visit, you show maps of where, your photography is absolutely amazing (probably the best I've ever seen), and you have edited it in a way to tell the story and hold viewer interest. Of course there was much that you didn't have time to include, but so many videos spend too much time on restaurant reviews, jumping off cliffs into the water and other esoterica. Also, many videographers have a poor sense of timing when editing. By keeping it simple, this video is as good an introduction as it gets, and I will share it with friends. Aloha!
Bob I think we just might print out your comment and frame it! Thank you so much for all the kind words especially since we are just learning! We jealous you get to live there - such a beautiful island and we enjoyed our time there! 💚🌺

Awesome video. it align perfectly with my own adventures on the Big Island. Shoutout to Jason Haper's Big Island Travel Guide- it was my go to resources and made my trip unforgettable! Mahalo!
We had heard so many different things about which Hawaiian island people preferred and really were pleasantly surprised by the amazing variety of the island!! It was our first time on the Big Island and we are already wanting to go back! Thank you for watching 💚🌺
Wonderful narrative. My parents lived on da Big Island for years so most of the places you explored are familiar from time spent there. I love your deep respect and appreciation for people and place, because that is exactly the attitude that makes you a traveller, not just another tourist. That way your experiences and the people you meet become treasures to carry with you and savour for years to come. You came, saw and got it right. Wish I were there and will have to plan a return visit.
Our favorite place to visit is also Waipio Valley! We did a three hours horseback ride there, which was the most amazing experience! I haven't had any more horseback rides come close to this one.
Awesome video. Looks like you two had a fantastic time. The snorkeling looked amazing esp with the crystal clear water. The Big Island is on my bucket list. Would like to get married there or at least go there for a honeymoon.
Thank you Micah!! And merry Christmas! We really hope to make it out to the Philippines one day. We have heard about the recent devastation. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Philippines ❤️
Mahalo for the great job you did on the video and the informative narration. My wife and I were born and raised on O’shu, and I live a mile above Kealakekua Bay.
Wow that area is so beautiful!! We got food at Kaaloa's Super J's and watched the sunset near there and it was just such a good moment and memory for us! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us 💚
Reise, I am now subscribed to your channel. So happy that you like this Hawaii island, my home! 🙂 I long to visit Switzerland again! It's also one of the best places on earth.
Thank you so much for sharing! I didn’t realize how much there really is to do and see on the big Island. I always dreamed of visiting one of the Hawaiian islands since I was a little girl, and my dream came true last year when I went to Maui. It was amazing! The Big Island is also at the top of my bucket list. I love that you can snorkel and see reefs and a ton of fish right off the beach, and how clear the water is.
Thank you Jay!! Seriously appreciate the kind words as we are newbies 🙂 Enjoy your time!! We have a couple more detailed guides of things to do on the big island that might be helpful for your planning as well!! jaycheladventure.com/destinations/united-states-of-america/
Yellow Road to the Green Sand Beach is worth walking there and back. It will complement the destination in an unforgettable experience. It will provide great stills and footage, too. Besides a stronger emotional impact, there will be less harm/erosion to the place: in many areas, the road cut into the incredible yellow-orange soil as deep as about 5-6 feet.

Definitely recommend seeing the stars at the top of Mauna Kea or doing a sunset horse back ride in Kohala next time!
Right?? We made a mid way stop at the hotel in Kona luckily! But we did not realize how far everything was 😂 Next time (fingers crossed 🙃) I really want to do Mauna Kea visitors center for the stars! The horse back riding sounds like a movie scene! Thanks for the recommendations and for watching!!

@@finkster1969 Your thoughts on Manuela's Malasada's? We always have them after going to Hapuna beach and there was an older gentlemen that was in the small trailer making them to order..he was a gem...was there last week and there are now 3 other Food trucks at the side of the road. Hapuna Beach now also charges $5 for non residents to use the beach...gets pricey if you are there for the week.
Aloha, blessings and abundance, This YouTub is an excellent source of thoughtful resources for Hawaii Island, good details. Drones are illegal in state and national parks in Hawaii, which includes Akaka Falls State Park (5:00) and Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park (City of Refuge) (14:50). Please observe the laws when you are filming.
Just a heads up Waipio valley is now closed indefinitely. Too many people would trash the beach or not pick up after themselves so the residents of the valley closed it to everyone not even people who live on the island can visit anymore. Please always clean up after yourself no matter where you go. Also "two step" is called Pu'uhonua O' Honaunau pronounced Ho-now-now or the city of refuge. If you are blessed to see the dolphins please do not chase them or harass them which looks like you guys respected them very well, more so just for the viewers that see your video and decide to visit. Amazing video and footage of the island Jaychel.
Ahh so sad to hear about that :( Waipio is so beautiful - it’s sad that others ruined the experience for future visitors. Thanks Braxton!! We appreciate it 😄😄
Thanks for the video :) We’re planning our honeymoon and the BIG island is one of our potential spots! I’m curious of where you guys ate? Do you have a list of recommended eats or restaurants based on the location?

I was thinking that. Some of those shots are not possible without going aerial hence drone. But very informative video though.
Nice drone footage. Hopefully I get uninterrupted 10-15 min to shoot. Surprised the dji mini handled all that breeze
We appreciate it 😄😄
The road was closed due to safety concerns, not due to tourist garbage.
Thanks for the video :) We’re planning our honeymoon and the BIG island is one of our potential spots! I’m curious of where you guys ate? Do you have a list of recommended eats or restaurants based on the location?
Awesome video! What did you use to record under water?
Thank you!! We use a GoPro! We still have the Hero 8 and works great :)
Excellent video! Very well done. I really enjoyed the quality of your content and your expert narration. It is clear that you guys researched the incredible culture, heritage and history of Hawai'i Island. As a part-time resident of Waikoloa, I really appreciate your obvious respect for Hawai'i, her people and her traditions. Mahalo nui and Aloha.
