Need more videos like this one. It was Fun and full of information. Need more videos here on the South part of the Island. And you need to do a video on the Botanical Garden's north of Helo. It is a very beautiful place. We have ben coming to the Big Island for over 35 years and moved here 8 years ago and still haven't seen everything on the Big Island. Thank You Again for a Great video.
My wife and I shot from the hip on our trip last May! Saw most of these beautiful places! 1200 miles on the Jeep in 7 days! Respected and appreciated everything we saw! Just winging it! Hope we can back sometime in our lifetime!
I got enormously sea sick on manta ray diving throwing up as I snorkeled and had to leave water early. It was a bit scary being in the dark making my way back to the boat but they had eyes on me and helped when needed. Still, fantastic experience and very memorable aside from the sick part.
We went to the Green Sand beach I agree it takes a long time to get there and would not drive myself let the locals drive it very confusing with all the trails and they are very deep definitely a memorable experience for us.
One of my must to do's when i get to the Big Island is to take a ride to Kona Chips, best chips in the world!! Can certainly be incorporated on an adventure to follow Captain Cook!!!
The Hilo Farmers Market is open every day from 7 am - 3 pm, but Wednesdays and Saturdays are "big" market days where more vendors attend. The Maku'u Market on Sundays is another good large market.
Just beyond the north end of Hapuna is a sandy cove where you can enter to snorkel. I've seen some pretty big trevally in shallow water very close to shore. There's also a nice trail there that you can take to Mauna Kea Beach.
Excellent travel guide, of west Hawai‘i. You barely mention the other half. You might want to title it as such. And then, do a separate one for East Hawai‘i.
Punaluu Bakery and Punaluu black sand beach are both way overrated in my humble opinion. The Beach is a must do just so you can say you've done it, but the bakery is just a tourist trap.
Hilton is huge, but nice too, No beach is a problem. Nice beach 1/2 mile away by the Marriott nice walk . Parking is $$$ We Lyft there then rent a car at National on the property for a few days. We normally stay 9-10 nights. Guy’s thanks for the info . HAPPY NEW YEAR
Paradise Meadows on South Point rd is a must do. They have the best mac nuts BY FAR, and the people are amazing. Check it out on your way to South Point.
I was snorkeling at Punalu'u some years ago. Guy, the t-shirt seller there let me borrow some snorkeling gear to see some turtles. I went in and from the shore he directed me to an area. I found myself surrounded by turtles, maybe 6 but I don't know for sure. With me at the center they were all circling around me and going in the same direction not more than maybe 3 feet away. What an experience that was. I don't go there too often now. The place has become crowded over the years.
Napua restaurant in the Mauna Lani resort area is right on the beach and is better than Lava Lava. Lunch is casual, dinner is closer to fine dining. Reservations are essential at dinner.
Thanks, very helpful information! My wife and I are coming to the big island for the 3rd time in a couple months; how about a video of things to do that people might miss in their first visit or two?
Great idea! That is one of the reasons we do our quarterly updates, so you can see the new stuff that has come along since the last time you were here! Check out Theatery in South Kona for a restaurant, Kona Cloud Forest Sound Bath, get some Kanpachi and an abalone farm tour at OTEC, and check out the Artisans market on Fridays at the Outrigger!
Great info. Also , great news on your scan Eric! Please please start wearing a wide brim hat to protect all around your face. Your baseball cap doesn’t protect your incision area. RN here worried for you.
We've stayed at the Marriott Waikoloa, and it was nice, but this year we stayed at the Halii Kai condos in Waikoloa Village and it was absolutely amazing, and the pricing is really not that much more than the resorts.
Depends on the amenities you are looking for. If you want to cook your own meals and have control over THAT part of the financial aspect of your trip, going to the grocery store and cooking will save you hundreds of dollars. But some people don't want to clean, cook, shop, do laundry...etc!
Big island has been ruined. Housing, traffic, beaches, it all sucks now. The very worst island now. It was only good because it was cheap. Now it isn’t. Go to Oahu or Maui instead. Seriously no beaches or sand, traffic worse than Honolulu, and the roads are so bad you might die.
I’m amazed at all the information that you have for our guest and on how to respect our island 😊😊❤

That's a great way to travel!
Been to the Big Isalnd 2x this year, loved it both times. 2nd time found new experiences I missed the first time. Thanks for sharing so much info.
That's the beauty of the Big Island! Always something new to discover!

The circle tour is wonderful! Take your time, take a couple days. Volcanoes National Park is practically a day in itself.
I've done almost all of the attractions you mentioned and I absolutely fell in love with the manta rays.
You guys are the best! Mahalo for this awesome video.
Thank you! We appreciate the love!

We have not been in there yet! But definitely tasty chips!
Can you take uber?
Great video. Thank you. And Happy New Year to you both.
Thank you, and Happy New Year to you as well!
Coffee shack is underrated definitely. Food taste great. View is spectacular.
Totally agree!

Amazing view, coffee was the worst I’ve had on the island
Malama aina and be pono!

Great food at Hana Hou across from Punaluu Bakery, mac nut cream pie 😋
That’s a great one!
Excellent video! Thank you for sharing wonderful information! Hugs and Happy Holidays!
Thanks! You too!

so true! One of my favorites!

@@365Hawaii Thanks, will check those out!

Thank you so much for the concern! I'll start wearing a wider brim hat from now on. Ordered from Amazon!
Our guests love the anuual pool passes we provide for Hilton...although we aren't providing that for 2026.

Hapuna beach is beautiful. I like Kua beach better
Hi. Is it better to stay at a resort or Airbnb? Thank you. I really enjoy your videos.

My Mom loves your necklace and would like to know where you bought it? Was it on island? thanks.
Aloha Richard-I bought it at Cookies here in Kona. It's a bit big for me..perhaps she would like to have it? Email me at Julie@Ziemelis.com
can a rental car make it to Kua Bay? or is it a 4 wheel drive road?
Its a regular road 4wheel not needed. We went last year in October.
Hapuna beach is amazing!
If you’re at the lava lava beach club, be careful when you walk the beach at night and don’t trip over the sea turtles who are beached there💕
Hapuna is way overrated. Crowded and no shade.
Beach 69 is way more cool. literally and figuratively. Definitely more funky.
Americans have messed up all pronunciation!

Would never stay anywhere that keeps dolphins captive for tourist entertainment (Hilton).
Definitely understand that!
