thank you for singing this song. This means a lot to us, korean. I used to serve my military service at the Camp Red Cloud as Katusa. Again, I really appreciate for you and your ancestor's sacrifices
I lost an uncle during the Korean War. I'm glad to see his sacrifice wasn't in vain and Korea has become a great country again and a beacon of democracy.
I had my wife translate your post for me. She is from Daegu. I'm glad we got involved in Korea. We can see today what would have happened if the communists were allowed to take the whole peninsula over. I love Korean culture, the food, the language, and the alphabet. I can read your post but I do not understand it completely because my vocabulary isn't that great. My wife and. Will be visiting Korea in the next several months. If you are near where we are visiting I would love to buy you a bottle of soju and visit for a while! I hope you are living well and I am proud to be a citizen of a country with friends and allies like yourself. I cannot thin of a country I would rather have a close relationship with.
American democracy isn’t the same as korean democracy. Korea is a great nation because of common sense but it is lacking in the US for the past 2 decades. I hope korea will be more prosperous than US. Gdp per capita by ppp isn’t that far away. Anyway, I’ve been to joseon/bukhan as well and i think they could do much better if not because of sanctions. Sanctions from UN led by US are killing people. US should stop being the world police. Stop getting involved in middle east and china. By the way, US and CIA installed a dictator in my country with terrible human right records and US even supported purging and killing over a million commie and refused to declassify documents.
A Korean, born in 1961, writes a letter of thanks to the members of the 5th Marine Regiment who fought the Chinese on the Jangjin Lake in 1950. Marines, thank you.
I really enjoyed your "Arirang," one of the folk songs that symbolizes Korea and Korean people. To all the KIAs, MIAs, and veterans, thank you for your service and sacrifice for the freedom of a country that you rarely heard of , far away from your home.
Thank you for clearing that up; I was kinda wondering about that until I found your comment; i appreciate the info 👍 it's the army, not the marines, but, great choir, great song... Very emotional for people like us.
ROK and US Marine, we fought together we bled together we died together and we lived together. We will stand and go forward together forever. Thank You!
That's the USMC Band but it's the US Army Chorus that's doing the singing. Arirang is associated with the US Army because if was given to / adopted by the 7th Infantry Division as its march during its service in Korea.
So beautiful it is sounding, the best choir version that I have ever heard of this song. I am Indian by birth, I do not understand a single word, but love listening to it.
May we always be allies in preserving the ways old and new.... Thank you for your service you your constant defence of our people against those who would -prefer blind conforrmity
Interesting fact; for a brief while, South Korea actually debated as to whether or not to ban this song. Why? Because the North Koreans would sometimes play this song on loud speakers in order to tug at heartstrings of the South Koreans (in order to "soften them up" and make them let down their guard prior to a surprise-attack)
this is such a beautiful and wonderful tribute to everyone who gave their lives for Korea, the US and Our G-d who sent His Son so that we may live in Him forever. it was no doubt that Korea and the US were tied as no. 1 as the top missionary senders to the world since Yesu/Yehoshua/Jesus walked the earth... only to return very soon... Be ready, repent, put oil in your lamps everyone. He is coming sooner than we think.
Salute to the best ally the United States has ever had. US and ROK forever. We hold Korea to be a better ally than Israel, Korea doesn't cost as much and are loyal for the Korean war.
Oh my god You sang our patriotic song, Arirang. A past occupation we boil with anger daean nations Arirang, which specialized in unison! Thank you very much! It is sad to think about the suffering of our people and angry at Japan.
Every time I listen to this song, I feel injustice..My ancestors were under Japanese pressure.. Martyr Yu Gwan-sun also died in prison at a young age.. How did your ancestors fight the Japanese? I can't solve the injustice of my ancestors, but as Korean traditional music starts to circulate around the world.
@BaekyChoco Student soldiers are high school students. Those who were conscripted in 1950 when they were 17 years old. In 1950, it was the 6.25 War. There is a saying that there is almost something hidden in World War III, because North Korea was supported by China, Pakistan, Russia, and communist countries. In South Korea, the United States, Britain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and democratic countries participated in the war.

That choir is actually the US Army Chorus. I think the USMC band is the one in red sitting in front of them.
+Patrick Williams AGREED, Patrick! (I used to wear that U.S. Army Band uniform a long, long, long, long time ago...)
Thank you for clearing that up; I was kinda wondering about that until I found your comment; i appreciate the info 👍 it's the army, not the marines, but, great choir, great song... Very emotional for people like us.

This is Korean traditional music.
Yes. We know this.

The title should read US Marine Corps band and the US Army Chorus , preforms Arirang.

@BaekyChoco Enlisting in the military at the age of 17? It's not North Korea..
@BaekyChoco Are you talking about student disease?
@BaekyChoco Student soldiers are high school students. Those who were conscripted in 1950 when they were 17 years old. In 1950, it was the 6.25 War.
Thanks

Make America Great Again
Maybe the band is a Marine Corps band, by the looks of the uniform, but the singer was most definitely US Army, again by the uniform.
What a marvelous Arirang by the US Marine Corps~! Awesome~^^*
God bless United States of America
The Marine Band is sitting there ... but those are members of the Army Choir
