Thanks Dansky,! Another great tutorial!
Great video! As somewhat of a newbie to Adobe Illustrator, it can be difficult to find helpful instructional videos teaching new skills in a comprehensible format. This is easy to follow and to apply to my own work. Thanks for sharing--looking forward to watching more of your videos!

Very cool!
This is really great! Thanks!
But... though it looks like a complete sphere, it's actually just half a sphere. In some cases, this will be annoying. How do we make it into one sphereical shape instead just a half?
Много полезно приятелю ползвам програмата от 3 дни и се получава благодаря много .
Amazing tutorial, very well explained
Glad you liked it!
Thank you so much
Thank you!
Just found 2 of your video's and i love them. My mom heared you on the background and said you remind her of Bob Ross... Very nice and calm explaining. I will be watching them a lot!
Is there the possibility for personal requests?
Hey there, thanks so much. Absolutely! Please feel free to request away, and I'll do my best to help :)
I want that image dansky
thank you so much i learned a great deal, trying to play more with 3D work.
informative... nice
I love your tutorials
Thanks Diego!
Thank you
I love the video and am so glad the mystery of creating 3D object is finally resolved, but in Adobe CC2022, the appearance panel does not contain the "3D revolve" button therefore I can't find the "map art" button either. Does anyone know where I can find it in my version of Illustrator?
nice!
I'm very new to Illustrator. I would like to create a logo using this method with text on it. Do you have a video showing this process? Thanks so much!
hey bro your design is the best design. please tell me how can get this image which you use in the circle
Thank you so much! :D
Happy to help Stine! :)
Very useful
I agree with the previous comment. Fantastic tutorial. Straight forward, very and easy to understand. No music in the background making it difficult to focus.! Spot on! Thank you so much! This is really cool, but I’m wondering why you would need to cut the circle in half. What would you have to do with a more complex shape like the letter “A or p” for example?
Thanks Suzanne! The circle was cut in half in order to the use the 'Revolve' feature. For other shapes that aren't symmetrical the 'Extrude & Bevel' option may be better suited :)
@@ForeverDansky Thank you
can you blend between 3D objects ? ( will test this later )
Thanks sir
Awesome
thank you for videos
Thanks Ozgur!
Can I just get the graphics pattern you used on the circle??
Nice and useful tutorial thanks
Thank you ! Awesome Tutorial.
I love it sooo much .. thanks a lot .. more of 3d tutorials for illustrator please 🙏
And more animation videos of after effects 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️
Thanks so much Elvan, appreciate it 😊👊
which mac are you using? I tried to follow along and it kept having to render. I have a 3.4 processor and I'm wondering if this is enough?
thank you
Miiind blooowing! Such a quick lesson, but so useful 👍 Thanks!
Awesome Lena! 😊
Thanks a lot
U r great
Thanks safaa!
*Thank_You* Dan
You're welcome!
great tone of voice
can this work on any graphic? ie. if i draw a person using the pen tool will this work?
Amazing
Thanks Evan :)
Hi. I don't know if this is possible but I am trying to create a spiral with the revolve but on a letter. I've transformed it into an onbjet. But I can't use this method to transforme it into a spiral. Is it possible or am I trying something impossible to create. Thanks bye
I wonder if you might consider doing an updated tutorial on this topic at some point. I tried to follow along using AI 2023 and the panel that appears after clicking on 3D and Materials is quite different from the one in your video. Some of the options were the same, but other were different. For example, when it cam time to apply the art to the sphere, I didn't see a Shade Artwork check box...
I have a question.. why the map art shows me 1 of 6 what should I do to make it 1 of 1 ?
When I do the 3D effect, it doesn't look like the one on the screen at all. It just looks like a whitish circle in another circle, rather than a gradient kind of shadow creating a 3D effect. All of my options are the same as the video, does anyone have any idea why this might be happening??
why do i have 2 surfaces on the revolve?
Can I create like a dotted 3d object with this tool?
Anyway to do this on iPad Pro version of illustrator?
What will be the difference if I don't join the anchor point of semicircle
How can i add an colorgradient with two colors on a 3D Figure?
I would like a 3D drop with gradient.
how do you add outline to the ball?
thannnnnnnnnnnnks
Thanks for the tutorial. Once you have mapped you artwork, can you vector the final mapped artwork so that its line based?
Hey Ryan, yes if you select your object and go to Object > Expand (tick all boxes) it's finalise your mapped artwork into one complete composition :)
Great! Thanks - really helpful tutorial
Hi Dansky, would you mind showing us how to apply a "logo-ed" text into this 3d object? I made a really nice text logo but would like to add it to a sphere to make it look like the logo is on a balloon, lol. I've created the logo and made it into symbol but for some reason it is just not showing up on the sphere...
Hey Stacy, when you go to map the logo/artwork to the sphere, have you double-checked that the artwork is positioned on the front-facing part of the sphere, rather than behind? Also is the 'preview' box check to show any changes in real time? If this doesn't work, try saving your logo as a PNG, then re-importing it as this flat image, convert to a symbol, and see if this works :)
my circle shows six surfaces. I couldn't figure out why. do you have any idea?
Im really having trouble making a graphic style. Im on the 2017 version and tried apareance and to use the combo of the graphic styles. It wont accept my drawn objects. Why does adobe make this so weirdly difficult for no reason.
Brilliant stuff mate. Quick question though, when I clicked preview the ellipse turned black, and messed up the colouring. Do you know what happened? I followed your steps exactly...
Hi, I had the same thing. Turn out I had a stroke applied. If you remove the stroke, it will work as shown.
Thanks
where do i get the pattern used
dansky I how I can download this which you use in video
Hello quick question when doing this the shade artwork option is greyed out?! how can i fix this? need that shadding!
i place the image as a jpg, embedded it and then added it to the symbols, is there a way to get shadding when creating the sphere from a photo?
Question? Why when I follow these instructions I keep getting 6 surfaces not 1? Help!! Would like to map art on but have too many surfaces
how can i export 3d file to after effect
My sphere keeps saying it has 6 sides when I go to put my design on it instead of 1 of 1. What am I doing wrong?
Hey does anyone know how to remove the sphere after you have mapped a graphic on it. I just wanted to make the graphic look like it was across a sphere but not sure how to remove the sphere after without also removing the graphic..anyone please!
Never mind I found that expanding the image after fixes this issue and you can select any part of it separately
Can’t I download 3D in 3D format? I can only download in 2D format
Hey Dansky, I’m a new subscriber and fairly new designer as well; I was wondering if you could help me on a logo design I’m working on for myself. Thank you for your time !
Please tell me lines symbols how to download
Reminds me of Baugasm's posters love it. We actually just interviewed him, check it out on our channel!
Did you create those lines yourself or can I find that pattern some where?
Hey Charles, it's available on Shutterstock :)
Thank you, would mind telling me what the title of it is?
Aha, let me check my history and see ;)
Here it is!
