Thanks for the video. I have a 2022 6.7 PS. The CP4 roller spinning has been my biggest concern - i didn't know they had pinned the bucket. Thanks for that info!
@vessmech yes they are pinned now. So rollinging isn't really a concern. It can still happen cause the bucket can turn slightly and after many miles.doing that it flattens the pin and it turns. Not a huge problem. That's more down the road. I would still look into getting a DCR though. Cause even when changing the filters and such and air gets in there. Those initial cranks are metal to metal. No fuel in the cp4. It wears it down.
That's tight man, I'm taking a diesel class in a couple months at school....then I can follow along with your diesel vids cuz idk shit about em 🤣 thanks fir the video mayne!!!
Putting DEF into the fuel tank is a lame way to do this. I'm a pro. I NEVER drain my water-separator. My truck runs entirely on water now! Seriously, I simply only open one cap at a time, do what I need there, close that cap, then open the other. I would kick myself in the tail for years if I mixed this up. Also, since when did a CP4 need help killing itself?
@GuretoSefirosu umm this was one cap at a time. They just happened to open the fuel cap instead of the def cap. You should drain your water separator monthly. You know for water. That's why it's there, you know. For fuel samples. New ones don't rewlly mess themselves up. They are pinned. 2020 and up. Do they still fail? Yes. But that's why we put DCR's in them.
In a wet environment like on the fuel filter. Up to 2 hours. It gels up when mixed with fuel. And it's frowned upon to smack tf out of people at work no matter how mad we want to
What a mess! That fuel system developed a bad case of kidney stones. In addition to HVAC tech, electrician, computer programmer and plumber, diesel technicians can now add urologist to their resumes.
But sadly, technicians aren't paid like urologists. I just got a bill from mine, and if given the choice, I'd rather go see BFT for a major repair on my truck.
@cgonedfishing what do you mean? We replaced this one and put a whole new fuel system in it. Did not put in a cp4 cause those are garbage. Put in a DCR from s&s motorsports. We done plenty of them. Why would you buy a brand new one? It can go Kapoof driving it off the lot. If you come across one with a dcr pump then defiantly buy one. They don't go kapoof. That's like saying why would you put underwear on after you wash them? We'll because they have been washed. They are no longer dirty. Same as this. It has been repaired and been on the road for a while now.
@cgonedfishing but to answer your question. Yes I would buy one that has been repaired. If it was done correctly. Then I'd go in there and swap the cp4 for a dcr

@316Speedshop anytime brother. Any questions about diesel class let me know. Be glad to guide you along
It’s amazing how fast that happens. Nice vid brother
Also that’s the reason at the fire department we were not allowed to put def in, had to go to vehicle maintenance
It happens quick. The DEF pump is at maintenance but I'm not here here at 245am. Now there's a new protocol when getting DEF of fuel.

@@BeardedFordTech lol them colors was too spot on lol
@@FluffyMexicanik I'm good like that
How long does it take for the def fluid to crystalize? And do yall smack tf out of the driver that did it?

Im guessing that the fuel filters wouldnt have prevented this?
@@huasohvac no. It had fuel filters in it.

@mlieser1230 yeah it's pretty gross. Smelled horrible too. Can't type it here. Just k ow it's bad

@@xeutoniumnyborg1192 💯💯♥️♥️
Ewww gross. It does some real damage doesn’t it.
@mikeyb1234 yes a lot of damage. 20k dollars worth
I just had on two weeks ago the guy added gasoline to his tank 🤦🏽♂️
Gasoline is much easier to deal with. That happens a lot around here.
@@BeardedFordTech oh yeah, definitely
That’s is the absolute worst!!
@jtopdawg6 yeah it's probably worse than a metal on metal.
Would you buy one that was repaired after it went kapoof?

@@BeardedFordTech I saw one advertised for sale, failed cP4, guys add just says it was replaced…
I love clean underwear though… 😂😎
@cgonedfishing lol. I can see what you mean there. Do we know if.it was replaced correctly is the question. However we don't put cp4 back in them.

Wow. Expensive mistake.
Yep
