2:29 It really does work. Many years ago I used to play a game called Ark: Survival Evolved. Its a survival kind game with dinosaurs and i played on a pve server so I could not be killed by other players. So I made it my mission to sneak into other peoples bases and loot their unprotected chests. I had a whole fleet of flying dinos and such to facilitate these lootings. One fateful day I got a bit daring, a clan caught me in the act and then locked me in their storage room by closing the passcode protected door. While they were laughing their asses off and I was dying of starvation with my best gear + a lot of oil on hand I desperatly googled for the top 10 most used pin codes and 2580 ended up being my golden ticket out of there. They thought i was cheating lol.
What a story!

i just re-watched the whole eps thanks to this clip, but there is one thing that bothers me. Jane already knew it was the widow, but they lacked evidence so Jane set up a bait to make the widow confess. Everything was running smoothly, Jane saw thru the widow and made her confess but had the police with the car sirine come too early, she will realize that the wendy and the lawyer's alive are part of the trick and she can just deny everything in the court. That would be a total waste of effort
well denial and alibi are weak defenses anyway especially if unsubstantiated. plus, jane is a consultant, i think in US laws (out of which my Philippine law is based too especially political law) it would be safe to say that being in the private sector - those constitutional rights do not apply to jane in the same way it does to a police man or any law enforcer. therefore that extrajudicial form of confession should still be given evidentiary weight. No law nor constitution says you cannot trick someone into telling the truth - truth is truth as it is, a fact, or atleast it would be presumably true since nobody says stuff that is false when they have no reason to as they do not know that they are being recorded thru foresight as part of ordinary human experience.
open to correction tho, it is different where i come from tho, not totally the same as in the US laws.

It doesn't really make much sense, though. The intruders didn't even attempt to break open the secret door? There's no scratch on the thing.
He (the intruder), wouldn't know there wasn't a silent alarm, in fact would very likely take it for granted there was. It wouldn't make sense for him to hang around, not when, as far as he knew, it was very likely the cops were on the way, or maybe private security.
